AUSP2BLK

G’day OzBargain, we’ve missed you. It’s been a crazy time since we last posted a deal. Since then we’ve had time to go out and about, see our family & friends and maybe sink a few pints at the pub.

It’s great being able to go out but we’re still very conscious that just in NSW we’re still hovering around 10,000 new daily cases, with active cases still at 152,784. (Keep an eye out for it on the Health NSW site https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/stat…)

So, we’re taking 10% site wide with free shipping on all retail orders across Australia with code AUSP2BLK. That includes our latest AMD P2 T4 Black Respirator Mask. It’s the same mask that you know and love but now in black. The earloop is slightly softer and more elastic than our regular white T4 earloop product.

With more and more re-infections and new variants like BA.4 being detected + the move into the cooler months it’s probably not a bad idea to keep protecting yourself and your loved ones. We want everyone to stay as safe as they can be with the NANO-TECH nanofiber filters that provide 99.66% PFE and 99.92% BFE. It keeps you safe for up to 24 hours and is extremely comfortable and breathable.

Oh and we've now got express shipping for $15 flat on any order size, Australia wide.

In most instances you'd probably be right to think that considering how many people are dumping their RAT tests, but we literally sell PPE. That's all we do. We just brought out the black P2 respirator and thought it'd be nice to share it with the community here.

      • +11

In fairness these black masks are fairly new so I don't think it would be excess stock

      • Ordered, rather order from specialty company that randos myself

    • +11

The same product? Not all masks are the same - they may look similar but you won’t find the same protection levels in non AMD products. Enjoy your trip though and stay safe!

    • +6

      We are not in Malaysia.

    • +2

      Ozbargain not Malaybargain :)

      • +1

Over here everything is inflated. That's why we have inflation.

  • +8

Yep! AMD have a slew of new products in the pipeline and we’re gonna be stocking all of it. I get the cynicism and the fatigue around PPE but this virus isn’t going away. So whoever wants to keep themselves protected, we’re just trying to make it a little easier.

  • +3

Bought the black few days ago for full price of $115, honestly, regretted about it, it’s not comfortable and I don’t recommend it.

Just get the white colour one they are much more comfortable than black colour one.

    • +5

That’s a shame, did you purchase from us? Drop us an email and one of the guys in the office will reach out to you tomorrow and see if we can’t sort you out with something.

      • +1

Yes, I’ll bought from your site.

Sure, I send email later on, thanks for the help.

    • What’s the difference (apart from the colour)?

      • +1

The black colour was in different designed shaped, a little bit bigger and the part that cover the nose pad was either too big or too tall that caused it very uncomfortable.

  • +3

I’m having a few loops break after single use. Seems like the glue being used to adhere to the mask is poor?

    • +2

Hey mate, sorry to hear about that. If you don’t mind sending us an email with the batch number we’d be happy to replace them. We’ll sort you out with something.

  • +6

Bought a box of white for $104 delivered only an hour ago from Respirator Masks. Paid $101.5 delivered in September from Aussie Pharma Direct. Nothing special about this pricing — it's just the going rate.

    • -6

We’re doing 10% off site wide. I believe Aussie Pharma sell for $119. No idea who respirator masks are. It’s cool if you don’t want to purchase from us, as long as you’re wearing these masks we’re good!

      • +13

Well, you probably should know about them, as they are a listed stockist on the AMD website, and it appears that their regular price is essentially 10% less than yours.

  • Rep, are you able to advise whether the head strap masks are available in standard size? The earloop standard size fit me fairly well, but I feel like a large would be way too big.

    • Hey mate, the T4HL is designed to be a snug fit as all headbands are meant to be. If you feel the earloop fits you there’s a high likelihood that the T4HL does too. The T4H when we had them was a tad too tight for me. Hope that helps.

      • So the head strap large and the ear loop regular are about the same size?

  • +3

I brought the white ones last time and think they are a poor fit. Air keeps escaping from the nose part, I know because I wear glasses and they immediately fog up. I tightened the nose bridge as much as I can and I couldn’t get a good seal.

Any tips you can provide to get a better fit?

    • +4

Buy a different brand of mask as these appear badly designed for you. Simple.

    • +1

You probably need a different style. You could also try something like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/124872621652 (I haven't bought these, but am considering it).

    • +2

Hey mate, I'm also a fellow glasses wearer. For the best possible fit I usually remove my glasses and apply the mask from the chin first, once that's in place then I'll form the nose wire using both index fingers and pressing in my nostrils. The nose bridge has an additional extension on all AMD P2 earloop masks since circa September/October last year to combat glasses fogging. I hook my glasses over this and it works fine. Hope that helps you out!

    • These have a very low pass rate when fit tested so don't expect a great seal.

    • I had the same problem with these masks. The nose wire is too springy and just can't mold into shape. These 3M masks work much better IMO (I'm sure there are cheaper vendors): https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/3m-p2-resp…

The difference is that the 3M have a more malleable nose wire, and soft foam padding to fill any remaining gaps.

  • +3

    Does it come with heatsink?

      • -4

haha well arent i lucky, i used to travel to sydney for work like once a month, thank god covid put a stop to it.

  • Sponsored by amd

  • If the elastic is softer, is it more comfortable than the white?

    • Depends on the person, for me - yes absolutely. I prefer these but my girlfriend who has a smaller face feels indifferent. She's happy to wear both as long as I give them to her and she doesn't have to pay haha.

    • +11

Aren't we the same? You're standing proud that you're not vaccinated because you won't listen to the government and health advice telling you to get vaccinated. I'm not listening to the government telling me to stop wearing masks :)

    • +6

Yeah man. I want to be more like you. Show me your ways, please. Your unvaccinated and proud rhetoric is so not sheep like. Unless you follow anything by anyone paid by Murdoch to write articles. Sky News, Fox News, Alex Jones, other random RW nutjobs, Breitbart, anyone that thought voting for Mango Mussolini was a good idea. The fact that you don't recognise you are a sheep in another paddock is really quite sad.

  • I prefer wearing these (white) when in day to day life compared to the masks at hospital. Wish these were available as part of FIT testing.

Hope these black ones are as comfortable.

    • +1

Thanks for your support. Since you're in the medical industry please try out our headband products when your next round out fit testing occurs.

  • +1

These masks are awesome, have been using them for a year now and they've kept me safe all this time. Super comfortable and fits me perfectly, and yes I wear glasses and these don't fog up as long as you have correctly molded the nose bridge strip to conform to your face (though I've seen some people say that this mask is a little on the small side, so if you have a big face it might not be the right model for you).

Note that you don't have to throw it away after a single use, you can safely re-use these a number of times as long as you give the mask 2-3 days to dry out after each use (which gives potential viruses time to deactivate).

    • +1

Thanks mate! Great feedback. I can't comment on the single use, we wouldn't advise these products to be reused no matter how careful you might be.

  • These masks are way more comfortable than the standard white and blue ear loop masks. HOWEVER ear loop masks never form a good seal. If you actually want to spend this much money to be safe, buy the headband variant of this mask. They aren't NIOSH 95. They haven't been tested by the TGA. Hospitals use the head band variant generally.
Personal experience is air escaping from the chin section.

Just have a look at the last time this was posted.

    CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/respirators/testing/NonNIOSH…
"Most of these products have an ear loop design. NIOSH-approved N95s typically have head bands. Furthermore, limited assessment of ear loop designs, indicate difficulty achieving a proper fit."

    • +2

Hey mate, you're correct in saying that these aren't NIOSH 95 as AMD don't currently service the US market. However, these are TGA approved, you can find supporting documentation on our site as well as AMD's https://www.australianp2mask.com.au/learn-more/

I understand that there is confusion around N95 and P2 but P2 is what we use here. https://www.australianp2mask.com.au/2021/09/22/p2-masks-vs-n…

The box issue is definitely a good point though but as you can imagine during the peak of the last wave, there were staff shortages across the entire supply chain. Someone made a mistake and there was a large batch of boxes that didn't have P2 marked on the box, despite the masks being P2 certified and having the correct labelling on the individual mask packets.

And finally, that Twitter post is refers to the old embossed version of the mask. The naming convention is a bit confusing but AMD has not produced embossed earloop masks since Q3 2021. The ones that are currently available have a level 3 fluid resistance to synthetic blood penetration and the like.

      Hope that helps.

      • +1

However, these are TGA approved, you can find supporting documentation on our site as well as AMD's https://www.australianp2mask.com.au/learn-more/

The Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 prohibits you from using terms such as 'TGA approved'. The inclusion of a product in the ARTG is not an endorsement of a product.

        • +2

Apologies, it's been a long day. This product is listed, registered and/or included in the TGA registry with the ARTG code number 335982 as labelled on the box.

1870 looks dope but outlets are only selling to healthcare professionals. Go fish.

      • There’s the 3M 9320A+ also sold by Sydney Tools

    • -1

Yup exact same reasons as above.

Plus when a manufacturer makes a new color like this, it typically involves different raw materials / dyes which in turn implies possibly different breathability, filtration efficiency. It's effectively a different mask so they'd need to go through another round of lab testing. You can't assume that if the white ones passed P2 tests that the black ones will too.
Looking at the website, the test reports for the black earloops are not publicly accessible and I'm not even sure it exists https://www.aussiepharmadirect.com.au/pages/amd-certificatio….

Btw if someone has the black earloops in their physical possesion I'd love to see a photo of them both sides.

    • +2

Thanks for the Sydney tools link. I bought a few of the Benehel 20packs. Worth posting that as a deal I think. $8.95 for 20 N95's is a pretty good deal.

      • Would you mind re-sharing the link to the Benehal 20-packs please? The link from @Ibz goes to a 404 page for me…

        Thank you.

        • +2

Links don't seem to work on that site when you reuse. Just search for Benehal 9015

          https://sydneytools.com.au/product/raptor-9015-20pack-beneha…

          • @quasi: Warning though that link is for KN95s not N95

            • +1

@brendan0: thanks. I read some of your other posts and realised that after I bought them. but still happy with the purchase. the same brand seem to make n95, so hopefully they are not too bad. should still be better than the rubbish normal facemasks that most people wear

              • @quasi: Awesome. Key is for the mask to fit around your face without leaks.

      • $75

  • Are the T4HL only larger in the nose to mouth direction or are they larger in the chin to nose direction as well (compared to T4H/T4)

    • +1

The T4HL is different in shape - you'll be able to see in the product photo gallery on the product page compared to the others.

      https://www.australianp2mask.com.au/product/amd-nano-tech-p2…

Compared to the old T4H the headband itself is 10mm longer on both straps. So yes, chin to nose direction is slightly larger but the headbands are designed to be a tight fit, they will pull closer to your face as well as having a nose foam insert for additional comfort. The nose wire is also a bit more robust.

Is it possible to purchase in smaller quantities? I'm keen on getting some, but would like to make sure the fit suits my face before ordering in bulk.

Also - are these individually wrapped in the box?

    Thanks.

    • +2

Hey mate, yes they are individually wrapped in the box but we don't have any smaller quantities available right this moment. This may change shortly.

  • +5

I agree these are very comfort masks..If I recall rightly I bought 2 boxes from this seller (absolute pleasure to deal with) and also a box from another seller, last year while mandates were still in place.

While the government tries to convince us that COVID is over we still have up to 10k cases per day in Qld. My mate tested positive yesterday. And my workplace, still mostly working from home has maybe 10% of workforce off per day.

I'm very happy to have a good stock of these comfortable protective masks. Can't fathom why some people have such reluctance to take this simple protective measure.

    • Thanks for your support and yes, emphatically agree with you on the fact that this is a simple protective measure. You can keep a box at home, a handful in the car and work to cover your bases. If/when the next jump in cases happens, you'd rather have these on hand than not.

  • well i bought 3 boxes from respirator mask for 288 and now i don't see them on AMDMED website lol.

  • +4

Work as a doctor. We had a shortage of masks back in January and these guys went out of their way to help me. They're the most comfortable and best masks around!

  • Is there a general recommendation on these to be single use or how many hours use before replacement?

    • It mentioned 24 hours.

  • +2

    Still no sample kits available…

Masks are very subjective, what works for one doesn't work for other. I bought one on the past but was disappointed by the fit.

I don't recommend anyone to buy these unless they had a chance to test them elsewhere.

    • +2

They're bad value for money whatever the quantity. They have poor quality control. They haven't produced a test report for their black masks that they are promoting, for less money per unit you can get the LG Airwasher KF94 which has been tested and reviewed by countless people include Aaron Collins (aka masknerd on twitter). The regulator in Korea is much stricter on enforcing their KF94 standard than the TGA is here on P2 masks. For example as of today the TGA still hasn't tested AMD's masks https://www.tga.gov.au/testing-face-masks-and-respirators

  • +1

Thanks OP for posting. Bought a box of 50 black masks to try out. The box had just arrived yesterday but there were only 48 pieces in the box instead of 50 pcs.

    • Hmmmm I need to count mine!

  • The code doesn't work for me. Any advice?

  • +1

Just like to give a shoutout for the masks & this store - prompt service & delivery of the masks, and a quick fix of an order error I had made. I caught covid last week (from the one time I wasn't wearing a mask, go figure), but while at home with symptoms myself and others in the house were wearing them. No one else at home caught it off me during that time. YMMV of course, but I can highly recommend.
