You must also wear a mankini, or they won't let you in…

    • The link appears to be broken and I can't tell if you're being serious or not. Does someone have the correct link?

So what is the point of this deal? I see no benefit.

Um, because not everyone is with Optus whereas this deal looks like its open to everyone?

      • Good question.
Answer is that anyone has access to the yestickets deal. You just need to give it an optus number - they do not check it. You do not get any SMS. You could try mobile numbers at random until you hit an optus one. Or look at a prepaid $2 SIM.

I figured it is not a bargain if it is the same price as a much better existing offer.

To summarise, you are saying this is not a deal because it is similar to a deal already offered to all Optus customers that anyone can jump onto by faking an Optus number.

So if someone offers their popular software for free then it's not a deal because it can simply be pirated easily anyway.

        • That is not a summary, it is an inference, and one I must disagree with.

The problem with your piracy analogy is that nobody really cares if you are an optus customer.
If they did it would be trivial to verify. The usual method is to send a PIN by SMS.

Surely you can see the motivation to promote it as a benefit to customers, while not stopping non-customers from using it?
And anyway, becoming a genuine customer would cost $2.

Piracy FFS!? Why not just make an analogy to the National Socialists?

    • VMC $10 movies are available every week and if the op is wanting to see this movie at a discounted price then it's a valid post and there's no reason to neg?

  • meh, heres me thinking I was gonna get to see the real classic (charlie chaplin) on the big screen.

    • That was "The GREAT Dictator".

      SBC plays a normal one.
