My sister in law recommended a jewellery website called Beautiful Earth Boutique, where she bought her earrings for her wedding day.
I ordered a few things then later realised every single thing on there looked to be from Ali Express.
Then I realised some other earrings I had purchased on Etsy for $20 was on Ali Express for $1.
So my question is - who has bought gold or silver jewellery from Ali Express that was actually good? How did you make sure the quality was OK?

Aliexpress isn't really a bastion of "high quality" and you're certainly not getting real gold or silver on there. What are you actually after? Costume jewellery? Have you considered something decent like Swarovski?

I feel like buying gold/jewellery from shady drop-shipping sites or Chinese online retailers is up there with the likes of buying Bored Ape NFTs….
I bought a "decoy" engagement ring for Mrs Altomic for when we went travelling. -if we were to get mugged then no drama regarding a cheapo ring.
it cost $2 from aliexpress.
2ct "diamond" on white gold.
looked great.
she got more compliments for that ring than the real engagement ring - a 1.5ct diamond with 2 x 1.2ct rubies on white gold which we designed ourselves (with assistance from the jeweller).
I also bought "decoy' wedding bands for $2 each as I was concerned over our white gold ones if we were mugged.
I literally can't tell them apart from the outside (only the inner stamp of the white gold bands gives it away)
if I ever get married again then it will be a $2 engagement ring from aliexpress.

just like most boutique online watch stores are sourced from china and then sold at 100x mark up.

The cheap crap probably is however there are also many independent jewellers on Etsy that design and create their own OOAK pieces.
I don't think anyone has ever shopped in China for quality.
German made, Swiss made, Japanese made all synonymous with quality. China made is synonymous with cheap.
Dunno, if I was looking to buy a wall I reckon they make good quality long lasting ones that seem pretty great.
stainless steel jewellery? sure, it's all going to be pretty much the same, but i doubt you'll find any decent precious metal jewellery on there.
Lol even Chinese 'stainless' steel is low quality crap. For jewelry it'd be fine if you kept it dry.
Top rated stores on Aliexpress with many ratings, etc. are fine. Good decent products from this store, reasonably priced. The products were small, but workmanship was great and way better designs than Zamels/Michael Hill/Goldmark, etc. You need to do a bit of research, look at the customer photos, etc.
