black/silver.. more like an ugly grey. Oh well.. cheap shoe is a cheap shoe!

    • -4

Why are you all negative voting? He’s right. There’s a reason why this one is on sale and not the other colour i.e. general consensus that this colour combo sells less compared to other colours and therefore less attractive

      • +1

I don't understand why runners care at all about their shoe color, they'll be worn out in under a year anyway and nobody cares. It's not like we're wearing runners as fashion shoes surely…

  • The NB website describes these as sneakers "for all-day wear", not running shoes.

    • +16

yea, u can run all day in them.

      • +9

…like all the women doing yoga in their yoga pants.

        • +5

Going to the shops in my active wear.

  • +1

Black/Black has more sizes available. Unfortunately I used the wrong code so ended up being $44 and can’t be bothered cancelling and reordering.

    • +13

The OzBargainer in me couldn’t deal. I just got my refund and reordered to save a few dollars. I like these as they have a 2E wide option.

      • +2

That's called true bargain in every sense.

      • +4

        This is the way.

  • +4

New balances had a sale on 4 weeks, 90% of the good stuff sold out a long time ago and the prices were lower before they jacked them

  • +1

still got several pairs of new shoes i need to wear before needing these … but what the heck!

    • +1

Same here. I keep buying these cheap deals and haven't even tried them. still in the boxes. Lol

  • Hard to buy shoes online every make is different.

    • +5

      Puma are really narrow

      • +1

not all the puma shoes are. you definitely have to ask or try them on. my driving shoes were narrow, but my basketball shoes were normal.

  • What is the difference between 2E wide & D Standard?

    • +1

      Forefoot width/last

  • +1

Cheers OP, bought the black on black.

    • … on slate black?

      • +1

        Dunno just said black/black.
        Whoosh tho right?

  • +1

Wish there is more fresh foam deals! thanks OP anyways!

  • Thanks! I paid $220 for a pair of these brand of shoe last night that looks exactly the same model to my middle aged eyes, no doubt feel the same also. Oh well I have two pairs now lol.

    • +1

      Return them and buy this

    • +2

that's definitely a different and better shoe. it might look similar, but they aren't the same shoe if you paid $220 for them. you probably got some awesome fresh foams, which i would pay $220 for over these.

      • +3

Yes they are fresh foams, and they are very comfy, but I'm a tightarse would have rather saved money

        • +4

lol. trust me in the long term those fresh foams will still feel amazing.

these are cheaper, but will be smushed, flat, and dead with no cushion. you would end up throwing these away and buying another pair again, versus keeping your better current pair. buy once, cry once. buy cheap, buy twice (or 3, 4, 5 times).

        • I rock a pair of chuck taylors that don't have any appreciable/obvious cushioning. I still like them.

Likewise, I remember a pair or army boots that were pretty damn stiff and heavy, but remember being able to walk heaps in them. (Was never in the army)

          • @tebbybabes: if you are carrying extra weight, then firm is great. you will be able compress the cushion giving you maximum benefit. if you are normal weight then you can't compress that stiff cushion.

            • @Hugh G Rection: Interesting. I'll have to look into this fresh foam thing. Probably wouldn't be springing $220 for it though. Thanks for the 411.

  • +1

Thanks, bought black/black, will hopefully try and pass them off as work shoes haha

  • Still some good stuff there, especially in the clothing.
Impact run jacket under $60 is great for winter.

  • Any flat footers out that recommend these?

  • Can anyone comment on whether these have good traction in wet weather?

    • +1

There is a photo of the sole, looks like these have slippery soles like Skechers.

I love the comfort of Skechers but hate their shitty slippery soles

      • +1

I bought a pair of Hush Puppies Modern Work shoes a few months ago. Nice and comfy but slippery as fluff in wet weather (Looking at the sole they should be grippy, but in reality they were not).
That's the problem I have these days when buying shoes. The tread patterns don't always reflect how they grip in real life conditions.

      • +1

I trip over constantly in my too-grippy Skechers, GoWalk 4 I think but not sure, circles on sole

  • +1

I never had any problem with heel slip in shoes until about 20 years ago. Now it's rare for me to buy shoes where that isn't a problem. Most of my shoes I can't walk in for any distance or I'll get a blister on my heel.

Is that because my feet have somehow changed shape afters many years of being a barefoot hippie or is there some other possible explanation? Do you get heel slip?

I've tried all the different ways of lacing shoes and heel inserts.

    • +1

Shoes have changed shape, or design really, a lot over the past 20 years. So if every shoe over the past 20 years have caused blisters, it’s probably your feet…have you tried different widths and different brands

Btw, blisters are often caused by wearing shoes that are too small. Make sure you are wearing the right size, maybe your feet are bigger but you keep wearing the same size

    • Every pair i buy i add cloth tape on the inside of the heel etc , so it doesn’t scrub out the inside lining , works for me….

  • +5

I like the Black/Black version, it definitely gives the impression as being more of a dark grey colour with a fine grain pattern running through it. Nice! No doubt they're comfortable everyday/streetwear scarpi.

Eleventy billion times nicer-looking than these Adidas shoes which were in a deal about few weeks ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/694361

    • I disagree, the soles on the Adidas shoes are A+

      • The New Balance look like foam too slippery in wet weather.

  • I bought the fresh foams from the last deal and they are huge and heavy.

    • +1

      And really comfy

    • Which Fresh Foams? If the More v3, they are a recovery /easy day shoe.
Nevertheless you can run at steady pace in comfort.

      • yes the more v3, they feel a bit clunky and i don't feel like jogging on like in my nike luna glide v3.

  • Got an error with the code BMNB20. Cannot be used with this order. Is the code targeted?

    • Does this code require ebay plus?

      • +2

I don't have plus and code worked for me. Code showed in the ebay app.

      • Its not working for me aswell.

  • +6

Thanks. I ordered a Fresh Foam 680v7 for $57 with the code. Their website has it for $150.

  • Can women wear this?

  • After looking at a few comment threads just before can't say I'd want anything like the thumbail given the resemblance :P
    https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/how-brisbanes-po…

  • I hear NB and Brooks are good for flat feet people; is this pair the case please? Or do I have to go for ones that specifically mention good for flat feet? Thanks so much

    • Yes, kinda. If you don’t have flat feet, you will after wearing these shoes

  • +1

Caution. I have these, comfortable but there is no grip in certain situations.

    • As long as we’re not talking about dangerous situations, I see no problem here

  • +1

On the sizing. I went to Jim Kidd Sports to try these shows before buying.

The 2E Wide seems not just wider, but longer in the toe, so you should select a size smaller than you would normally wear.

The D Standard is the size you would normally choose.

  • Got a pair of 997H and Hanzo U. Annoyed I missed the sale a few weeks ago though!

  • Has anyones pair been posted yet?

    • +1

Sent but not arrived. Expected delivery on Thursday (WA).

    • Mine has been sent and awaiting collection at parcel locker. Picking it up soon.

  • Mine just got delivered. Tbh I have thicker socks. Dont see them lasting long.

  • Cheap shoes coz they are cheap. I don't see that much difference compared to generic runners from bigw
