[WA] iPhone 11 64GB $34.86/Month, 128GB $41.52/Month on Optus 20GB Choice Plus Plan $22.50/Month for 12 Months @ Optus

810

Optus is currently running an iPhone 11 deal (Save $430.56 off RRP $848.88)

Sign up using the steps mentioned in this deal

Says customers living in eligible WA Postcodes only, but the real MVP in the comments says you can just enter a WA post cost to get to the order page then punch in your real address

If you stay with Optus for 12 months, the total should be $688.32 (The SIM plan ($22.50 x 12 months) + Device repayment ($34.86 x 12 months))

If you decide to terminate the contract in the first month (not recommended strategy)

Info copied from @HomeAlone on the Samsung Galaxy A8 Tab:

The minimum term for a Month-to-month Data Plan is 1 month so you are free to cancel that at any time, but you will still be stuck with the 12 Month Device Payment Plan.

Min. cost $835.50 includes device payments over 12 months with one month discounted device fee and one month of your discounted plan fees.

The minimum cost shown is calculated based on staying connected to the Month-to-month plan for the 1 month minimum term.

Full device cost + 1 month discounted plan fee - 1 month device discount

$848.88 + $22.50 - $35.88 = $835.50

The deal is not as good as the recent Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 for $0/Month but it’s an iPhone deal atm

    • even i am confused with it , the plan does not give choice to add phone

  • I took advantage of this offer the other day. Phone arrived in Qld the next day. I tried to do the WA 50% discount as well as the 25% discount it got confirmed but then Optus rejected it. They then said I could port a number in so I quickly registered a Telstra sim and hey presto. All done. Picked this up and a couple of the tablets. Happy Days!

    • Do they still give you the 50% discount?

  • +3

All I can say is I am not the only who thinks where is the phone?

    1 Click on OP's link
2 There are two tabs left one View Phones & Plans, right one View SIM only Plans (BYO Phone)
3 Click View Phones & Plans
4 Select the phone and plan you want
5 Use a WA postcode to validate into the ordering screen.

  • Looks like the 25% discount doesn’t stack on top of the 50% discount anymore :(

  • Just ordered. Then got a text from Telstra that my numbers being ported. Hopefully not before the device arrives in 2 weeks.

    • When is the porting actually happens? After you got your SIM card? What if it’s been ported before you receive the SIM card?

      • I selected esim not the end of the world as I can load on my iPhone 12 but kinda weird

        • Is it easy to load the eSIM on the iPhone?

          • @sicaboy: Yep scan QR code or click the link and the iPhone will do it all for you.

My order was just a second device to seperate personal and work stuff. Already got my number on esim with Telstra prepaid at $30/mo but this deal is too good.

  • Fingers crossed it works.

  • Anyone been called by Optus confirming they're from WA? Ordered mine last night hopefully no issues lol

    • +1

      Yeah,
Friend is new Optus customer and they successfully placed an order ending with A so no verification needed. Very good deal indeed

  • 64GB model is okay to use in these days?
    128GB only black color available.

  • It says “Discount applies for 12 months and will be applied by second invoice”. Does it mean the first month they charge full price?

  • My order seems to have been processed (NSW) however I had to get a new mobile number. I'm thinking of contacting Optus to see if they would change it to port in rather. Has anyone tried this before?

  • I have managed to sign up and was able to keep my current number (Number is not currently with optus).

I'm confused about the minimum total cost though. My monthly fee is $57.36 ($34.86 for device on 12 months plan + 22.50 small choice plan). This works out to be $688.32 over 12 months. In the summary of charges though, it keeps referring to the minimum total cost of $835.50. Anyone know why there is this difference?

    • +2

That minimum cost is if you decide to terminate within 1 month
If you stay for 12 months, it should be the $688.32 figure

      • Thank you for the explanation!

      • +1

Thanks, I was also confused and thinking afterwards maybe the deal wasn't that great as I ordered the 128gb iPhone 11 on the 80gb/month plan..@$69 per month but it said $922 minimum total cost.

      • Very helpful comment, cheers.

Update - looks like my order has been processed and I've received a tracking info. I am in QLD.

      • +1

Phone received today. Popped the sim in and my number was ported over in about 30-45 minutes. I also placed another sim from another network (Boost) into the phone and it was able to make and receive calls fine so I believe the phone is network unlocked.

        • hi, clould you let me know when did you sign up the plan, my still in In Progress.

          • @Skzzxxaac: I signed up on 29/04. Order was confirmed on same day. Delivered 2/05. I am in QLD. Porting of number took less than 1 hour but they say it could be up to 4 hours.

  • Direct links to add phone & SIM to the shopping cart:

    Colour New Customer Existing Customer
    Purple 64GB 64GB
    Black 64GB 64GB
    White 64GB 64GB

    • Got a link to the 128gb (think they had black) with 50%+25% offer for current Optus subscribers please. Yes the 50% of handset on 12 months isnt on offer alas (id take it on 2 years and get the good deal but the plan offers only 12 months and who wants to have plan cost to double for another 12! It should be until the end of contract discount ~ I personally hate 12 months deals like this when handsets dont match it)

  • sweet .. I talked through the Optus chat for 50% discount on the iPhone 11 Plan mentioning the WA Deal .. cheers OP

    • Are you a WA resident and a new customer?

  • New customer porting my wife over. So far we got an sms confirming the planned port from Telstra and after about 48 hours I’ve finally had an Optus account provisioned. Fingers crossed but the order seems to be progressing for me as a non WA person.

  • +1

My order status still says “submitted”.

    • I decided to cancel the order and will look at something more modern

      • how can you cancel the order? have to call them?

  • Can you cancel the order?

    • why do you cancel?

  • +1

To cancel I just used live chat via the Optus app.

  • +1

Has anyone actually been able to stack both the iPhone and the half price sim deal?

    • Yes. On the half price sim page there’s an option to pick BYO Device or Phone + Plan. Select the Phone + Plan there and the half price iPhone will be one of the listed device options. When you first load the page I think it shows the BYO option by default.

Don’t go to the phone listing then look for the plan, start with the SIM card link instead.

    • I would like to know as well

  • Has anyone received their confirmation email and been able to get the deal/order processed? I have only still received a temporary order number…

    • order again it will go through

      • +2

You mean put the whole order through again?
I don’t want to get two phones and plans if the both orders end up getting processed

        • They will call you for temp order and just tell them to cancel it

    • -1

Yeah I ordered on the 1/05 and received a temporary order. I had expected a call yesterday, and hadn't received one, so phoned them last night on 1300 929 949 and the staff confirmed my details and placed the "real" order. I think it was an issue with porting as they had to revalidate the number. I'm in QLD if it matters.

      • +1

Should not have followed your advise, I called them to check and they cancelled my order saying I'm not in WA lol.. :)

        • lol sorry about that! From what I gather those porting in (this was also a port in) didn't face too many issues. Always ask for 50% off for a port in directly from sales. My phone arrived on the 4th I think.

  • Did anyone get a shipping notification?

  • I just got temporary order no.

  • I’m in Vic. Received a temporary order number but received a call from Optus cancelling the order as they state it is only for WA. Obviously a different experience to some others.

  • My status is still submitted. I just gave them a call like superpete suggested, and the Optus representative said the phone should arrive this week sometime. I’m in NSW.
I really want this phone so hoping it goes through. I’m with Amaysim, which is owned by Optus. If they don’t put it through I’ll cancel my amaysim haha

  • Has anyone else in NSW had theirs shipped or order moved from temporary to the next stage without any further contact from Optus? I ordered a plan for my mum and she received an email asking her to call them about the order, which she hasn’t yet.

  • Is it possible to get the phone only

  • Another OZB triggered alarm in Optus I guess.

I was trying my luck and ask if I can change my current $65 M2M into the 80G plan on offer plus the iPhone 11 128gb and get a No. End up just add the phone to my existing plan and go through with confirm order in email straight away.

Asked a friend who use to work in Optus to check if there is any chance getting someone to give me the WA deal. She said her contact are telling her they are checking orders after some slip through when the offer starts. I think that explains why many orders are pending. Another reason is they may ask you to do the in app ID check. I am an existing customer and I was ask to do that.

I have wrote in another thread the contract specifically mention the handset discount is applied month by month. So think twice if you are thinking you can keep the discount and cancel the contract.

  • I called them last night and they said it is still going through but will take up to two weeks from the date I ordered to arrive. NSW.

  • Go to Optus chat ask for port-in discount for 50% for 12 months.
I just got a plan porting from Telstra. iPhone11+50% sim =$57.36 submitted yesterday. They already shipped the phone. I got a tracking number. Should be in Qld on Saturday
doesn’t matter where you are. You just need a non Optus service.

  • My friend and myself received phone calls from Optus to confirm the order. The Optus rep was being pushy wanting me to sub another number with a 25% discount which I said no, my friend got the same response but was asked to upgrade phone. If you do receive a call from Optus make sure to tell them you only want to pay for what you originally signed up for and nothing else no extras.

  • I didn't port and I got the discount

  • I had been thinking about getting it for the last week, but now the device discount no longer applied if you choose 12 months contract, so thats easy decision for me now :D

    • actually I am thinking the same thing but had purple 64G in my cart, buy or not to buy

  • has anyone received any info yet from optus regarding shipment?

    • Received a text today saying my order is ready to be shipped.

      • WHAT DID YOU ORDER IF YOU DON'T MIND TO SHARE,128g NO STOCK,I HAD PURPLE ONE 64G IN MY CART

        • +4

          I ORDERED A BLACK 128GB.

          • @GoonSack69: May I ask what day you ordered?
I ordered 30 April and It's cancelled after they sent me order confirmation email

            • @lilylemon: I made my order on the 28th.

              • @GoonSack69: I have been told you have to wait for 7-14 days :(
After waiting for 11 days already

                • @gareeb: I received my order today, if they don't give you an update soon you should contact them via chat using the my optus app or call them.

                • @gareeb: "working days"

              • @GoonSack69: Thanks a lot

    • +2

Jus got an sms in the last hour saying mines prepped for shipment. No tracking number yet, but the SMS notes an assigned SIM serial. Ordered in the 29th.

I’d say people waiting, continue to wait a bit. Looks like they’re slowly tricking through and I’d personally want to avoid landing on one of the over zealous support staff that might cancel the order rather than expedite it, if you aren’t from WA.

      • I got the same text this morning, I called them a few days ago.

      • +3

Got the same text on Monday and received my order the next day.

I didn't get a tracking number but I was able to enter my temporary order number and track my order using https://optus.startrack.com.au/ the day after I received the text.

        • +1

Thanks! Showing up now, ETA tomorrow.

  • Yeah. Had this promo been run until July I would have ported my number from Telstra to Optus to get this deal.

    • It says until 30 May

      • Not the 50% on iPhone 11 which has ended?

    • The promo for iPhone 11 is still there for 24 and 36 months contract, but that’s not really much of a deal bc the 50% off plans only last for 12 months

      • Can we change plan to cheaper one after 12 months?

        • I don’t think it’s possible, since it’s actually a contract that’ll lock you in at that price for the term period

  • Mine arrived today.

  • Delivered yesterday

  • Does anyone want to flip a (new) 11 128gb in Brisbane, PM me
