These are ridiculously big, I returned my last order
Have 1, bought for interest. It will give you a point in time power draw. But you have to keep refreshing, so its not constantly updating/displaying.
These are ok.
I got a couple with Homekit support but found its shortcoming as Homekit doesn't allow remote control (out of the WIfi) unless a control centre is installed in a ipad / Apple TV that stays at home.
I end up using the Meross App in IOS which supports remote control, grouping & scheduling.
So for IOS user unless you must use Homekit for cross brand management, you don't exactly need the more expensive Homekit version.
HomeKit also provides local control so you are not reliant on the Meross cloud to be online and maintained into the future. Power monitoring isn’t supported in HomeKit though.
Could I use these to make my current downlights smart by attaching them to the plugs in my roof?
these have10A output, so as long as whatever you are connecting dont exceed 10A, you should be able to do that
Yes that's why I did for my down-light at the front door, which than allows me to turn it on based on a Home Assistant automation.
Have 4. It will block the adjacent power socket.
