Induction Hob: IKEA Smaklig $399 (Was $799), Trevlig $299 (Was $599) in-Store @ IKEA

620

Seems to be Australia Wide. They are clearance items in the 'As Is Section'. Box says made in Italy and comes with a 5 year warranty. Looks to be running all long weekend (might be longer idk).

Smaklig comes down to $399 from $799 (489 previous deal)
Trevlig comes down to $299 from $599 (399 previous deal)

I had previously bought a Smaklig when it was last posted. I returned it unopened and re-bought at the lower price.

Smaklig: Has a bridge function. Allowing you to join 2 zones together for a bigger area and more power. The current model HÖGKLASSIG has higher peak power and allows more zones to be bridged, but costs $999.

Wired-in installation. Cord/cable not included. Installation to be made by an electrician

Wife just got a Trevlig, about 10 left at Springvale. Smaklig sold out, only difference is ability to join the zones apparently. Bargain

  • None in Adelaide that I could find and 3 staff had no idea. Not being on the website and all induction tops being behind the scenes means they are gonna be in the sales areas near the end

    • Thanks.

I looked at these at IKEA the other day - I asked about the matching oven cabinet and it was 60cm wide so wouldn't fit in my 57cm or so existing space to replace my existing 54cm freestanding stove without a major kitchen renovation

I also hesitated about induction requiring ferrous cooking utensils - our favourite Scanpan frypan is aluminium with ceramic titanium surface and I wouldn't want to need to use a extra steel disc under just to heat up our frypan everytime.

Had a look in Victoria's Secret this afternoon and saw new Scanpan IQ frypan with 'Induction' on the box - so assume they now have a ferrous insert - 'we cast the steel plate inside the pot or pan to make it more magnetic. This means that the aluminium and steel are tightly linked, which ensures excellent heat distribution' - https://scanpancookware.com/faq/

So it looks like if we did get an induction cooktop we'd also want to buy new induction aluminium frypans and wok.

  • Hi all, has anybody been to Richmond and are there any Smakligs left? Cheers JohnnyO

    • @Johnnyo - The photo attached is from Richmond. It’s not my photo, I stole it from a FB group.

Stupidly, you can’t contact ikea stores. But the customer service/live chat people can check store stock level. Just let them know it’s in the ‘As is’ section. You need to really spell it out to them.

      • Thanks @StonedWizard!

    • 2 left at Richmond this morning (1 new and 1 display).

  • 4 Trevlig's left at IKEA springvale at 27/04 1PM.

  • found in Clarence area at Logon store

  • About 20 of the Trevlig left in Canberra.

  • If anyone has changed their mind in Melbourne on purchasing a 60cm hob please let me know :)
Happy to take it off your hand
