Cheapest in Australia, that I know of. Lowest on staticice was $519. Reasonable shipping for VIC metro ($8.25), dunno about other states. Pretty good price if you want to buy local instead of importing from the states.

It is factory overclocked to 1 GHz, but it still uses the reference fan/cooling design.
A lot of high-end cards can reach 1Ghz on air; the 580 and the 6970 off the top of my head.
Yes but the difference being that a factory overclocked one still has warranty but one which you perform yourself voids it.
I had an XFX 4850 1GB, it remained optimum until the 6800s came about…, XFX are downright brilliant cards !
Cheapest I could find in the US (that would ship here) was $479 at amazon, anyone seen cheaper?
(Don't care about warranty too much)If you do buy this ridiculously powerful video card, make sure you have a good power supply to go along with it, something like this:
Meh I think corsair or antec are better options. Antec even have platinum power rated supplies now!
I would like to buy this, but I currently have a 6950 1Gb, I would need to sell that first.
This is a great price*
- With the usual caveat: don't buy a high end GPU like this unless you are very rich and really want top performance - the cards for $100-300 less are good enough for most people to play the latest games on high settings, and by the time they get old, you'l be able to buy a faster card than this with the money you saved).
Personally, I'm gonna wait 6mths when the price would be around 300+ before considering it. My 1920x screen and most games these days hardly demand such high-end card.
As a PC enthusiast, it is quite sad that game developers are not courageous enough to push high-end eye candy games anymore. The good old days of voodoo cards, Geforce cards and ATI 9700s will be missed.Buy more screens.
Ya! We've sorta moved away from super high end graphics and towards screen real estate. I was watching bf3 on a 30" screen and its retarded how much detail you can see now. Hard to get used to.
Courageous?
It's called making money. Every triple-A publisher is multi-platform and consoles get priority over us PC gamers because they're easier to develop for, have a larger customer base, harder to pirate games for and there's less testing required because the hardware is set in stone (unlike the millions of possible PC configurations that are out there). They can program directly to the metal and the SDKs can supplied to anyone and their mother
It sucks yes, but it's a natural, logical progression of technological convergence (consoles hardware =/= PC hardware). Consoles are not computers, not to the consumer anyway, they have markedly different life cycles as such and gaming engines will tend to revolve around their evolution and not the PCs.
Good point, as worth to mention most household own TV and console is kind of plug-n-play.
Is this the Ghz edition that was mentioned on engadget or gizmodo?
