    I received my tablet with SIM card and an email saying the mobile service was activated but at the moment cannot use the SIM to browse the internet for example. Wifi works fine. Is there a setting in the tablet that needs to be adjusted?

    Mobile data is switched on

    • I had to reboot the tablet after trying other things for a while, worked instantly after that.

          By the looks they are slowly getting stock in just not very many units at a time then again not everyone would be replying back here to say they got them.

    Anyone dealing with Cashrewards for a missing claim?

    I have just reviewed the invoice you have sent and I can see that the payment method used and total amount paid are missing. While I am further investigating your transaction, it would be great if you could send through a copy of your complete invoice/order confirmation email from the store containing the payment method used, order date and total amount paid. The information mentioned is vital for our team to track down this transaction.

    What did Optus provide showing all this information. Basically I received an email with an order number and a contract. You don’t pay anything until Optus bill you. They will find a reason not to pay.

      Did you claim under Optus-Postpaid?

      • Yes. Optus don’t send you the information they are requesting. My order confirmation has an order number and the plan. It doesn’t even mention the tablet.

    • I first sent them the contract and they replied saying it doesn't show the order confirmation number and purchase date. They asked for the order confirmation email.
      I sent them the confirmation email I received from Optus (subject line is Your Order Confirmation #xxxxxxxxxxA) and Optus now shows up as Pending in my CR transactions screen. Hopefully it goes through!

      • I could send the contract if that’s what they’d like but they didn’t request that. Also, the contract makes no reference to the original order number.

    Ordered 2 of the 128gb around 10 on 25/04, but only got confirmation for one of the orders so I was resigned to just getting one, if I was lucky. On 2/5 got notification from Optus saying the tablet is ready for delivery but the order number ending in A is different to the one I got the confirmation email for. Nothing since then, I've been checking the Optus/Startrack website every day with both the order numbers and it had always come up as no order found. But this morning when I checked again they both came up and I just received them both! Thanks OP, I've been wanting a tablet for a while for the bigger screen but they're usually so expensive so this was perfect. Don't give up hope yet, people! I'm in Perth

  • order on 24th around 10am and still nothing, still shows as submitted. talked CS twice, first one asked me to wait big longer, 2nd one said the item is no sell and I wont get it then tried to ask me to cancel and re-order A7

    • I ordered at the same day/ time as you. Have been promised it days ago by one chat 'expert' and told I would get a tracking code soon by another.

      Not expecting to get them now. Seems like they were just sent out randomly.

          Chatted with CS at least twice, and 2nd time, I was told somehow it stuck at credit check and they would escalate the order. Still, nothing is happening until this moment.

  • Well just an update on my situation, I ordered 2 tabs in the 23 April and another 1 tab on the 24 April.
    I got the first 2 tab a week ago. But nothing on the 3rd tab, my order is still pending, submitted with a sim number attached to it.
    After a week of going back and forth with the online chat, the 1 agent told me to see if I can get it in store a Optus store and sign up to the full price $25. 12 month deal.
    Yesterday I called up 2 Optus store near me, and 1 of them had it. I signed up with them on the phone and got them to hold it until today to pick up. I just picked it up a few hours ago and went back on to the chat, told them to read my chat history and they have now applied the 50% off the sum deal.
    I also asked them to cancel my pending order.
    So now All good on my end.
    Good luck to everyone else waiting to get it.

    Got mine. Couldn't wait for delivery due to no stock in warehouse, therefore went to Optus store, luckily they have one left. Picked up last one. Now need to buy the Microsd card. Any suggestions?

      • Not sure what he did. He said that he is taking my online order and process it in store. I have to sign the document and provide my driving licence. At the end i got the same deal, same contract and same account number.

    I'm currently communicating with optus and CS team advise me that
    "yes that is also what I can see that is the last update it is showing the order must have not yet went to the warehouse it is stuck on the order list. I will raise a IT case so that it can be processed." meaning that something has stuck and it can be released by CS team if that's the case, I will continue to update later on.

    after that CS member advise that

    I have checked from my end and would like to apologies first for the delay that have happened.

    This product was on high demand that is why there was a delay in delivery.

    I would like to confirm you that you can expect the delivery within 3 business days and also I have prioritized your request as well so that you will not have to wait any more longer for this delivery. I have gone a extra mile for you and made this request sorted so that the delivery done at its earliest.

    You will also receive a delivery notification once it is sent to the warehouse and also in the date of the delivery.

    PS: I ordered and cancelled on 23 April and reordered with Cashback on 24 April 9 am, my current status is "submitted"

    • I don't think the tab A8 is esim compatible..

    • You have to call the customer care or go in store to convert it to esim

    Here's my first impression: coming from an ipad air 2, the a8 is very nice overall. Construction is decent, and that 80% srgb screen is good, speed is good. Im very happy with the purchase :)

    • Agree. It's was crazy sweet deal. Quick question though - do you notice a slightly yellow cast on the screen? Noted this on the left and right.

      Apart from that the screen is good. Viewing angles are totally acceptable. Colours are however (noticeably) less vibrant than I've come to expect. But all in a good buy.

      That said - would absolutely not recommend it at RRP or close. The S6 would be a better buy.

        Sounds like batch variations? Mine doesn't have yellow cast, the colour looks uniform across all area to my untrained eyes. it's a 128gb model, made in China.

    I ordered just one on 23rd (for my daughters school work). Am told today it's out of stock. Awesome how some grabbed multiple tabs and got all of them - well managed by Optus.

      Nope. You should contact Optus and ask for a replacement.

      Contact Samsung direct. Optus doesn’t even have stock and will just probably cancel the plan when you return it

    contacted customer service to correct the delivery address three times and even spelt it word by word on the optuse messaging app and they still managed to corrupt the delivery address. Called 133937 early in the morning on 2 days and their computer system was down. Promised to call back later in the evening but no, they didn't. Called on Saturday morning and the designated team is not open. Delivery failed and now my tablet is sitting in the warehouse about to be cancelled. So close yet so far. Just venting. Yes Optus? No….

    Anyone noticed WiFi reception weak? WiFi router was around 12 metres away and it was dropping

    • Have the same issue. In certain areas of my home this Samsung tab is unable to pick up the wifi signal..but other devices can. I guess you get what you pay for.

  • I ordered 24/4 AM and still waiting. After talking to optus a few times about this, appears that my order was submitted and processed on 24/4 but didn't get "fully" processed and progress to a SAP order till the 27th. So even though everybody has an order number which ends with A, this doesn't mean the order has been submitted to a Shipment/Delivery Request in SAP. The SAP order number is what you track on the optus startrack website. I think this explains why orders appear to be allocated randomly but there appears to be some backend process that delays some orders for unclear reasons.
    How have people gone with ordering in store and getting the discount applied retrospectively?

    • Meaning those with late SAP numbers missed out on the first batch of delivery? Hence we are waiting for the no ETA batch of stock?

      • Yes, only when you progress to getting a SAP order number are you in the actual fulfilment queue. No idea why my order was delayed for those 3 days.

          Mine is similiar, ordered 23/4. Got sap number 28/4. Kinda unfair when they should be looking at ordering date to fulfil. Was in chat with the cs and he suggested I should cancel my order!
