are they the same store as shoppingsquare?

EDIT: nope definitely not, maybe you should have checked twice before reporting

mate, you got the wrong company. We are totally different company.

      • it's because the name and the deal are too similar

        • +3

whose fault is that ?, human brain I say ! lol

besides that's how we get good deals, competitor vs competitor, name vs name ! ;)

    • +8

Aussman - after an error like this, we might have to remove one "u" from your name

    • +5

      My bad

  • +3

That is an extremely good price. I would grab one if I didn't already own one.

  • If it had DD WRT support, I might bite but unfortunately they don't support modem + router combos =/

  • that's great price …i only just got one couple weeks ago :/

  • Very tempted to buy !

  • -3

I would buy this if i still had ADSL2+… LOL

    • Ah "All-in-one — Built-in ADSL2+ modem + Wireless router"

      • back on 115Mbps/2.4Mbps Cable ! ;)

        • +2

Still works as a normal router I believe? It has a WAN port that I am sure bypasses the modem. Given the price it would be a decent investment if you need to downgrade, or need to resell (would retain value better).

        • Cable has completely diff connections, so no it wouldn't work id think.

        • +3

…you plug the cat5/6 from your cable modem into the cat5/6 WAN port on this router?

        • +3

As stated on the specs tab on our product page:

All-in-one—High Speed ADSL2+ Modem (built-in) and WAN Gigabit Ethernet port for cable/fiber
he is definitely right over there, the WAN port is for Cable/fibre

got many bad reviews on Amazon, 15 out of 41 gave it only 1 star, worth a read:

    http://www.amazon.com/Netgear-Wireless-Gigabit-Router-DGND37…

    • Yea they actually aren't as good as they are on paper…. I've got one and there isn't any significant improvement from my old thomson one I got from Telstra….

      • The thomson ones are awesome… they pretty much have the lowest SNR out of all the standalone modems you can buy.

    • well, if you read into the reviews, most of the negative comments were related to the firmware, which has been updated now.

I have this modem router myself and it's garbage.

It was running ok for the first 3 months, after that, wireless starts drop out every 5 min and it's impossible to get connected back on for 30 min, turning it off doesn't work. I had to buy another wireless router so I use the new wireless router for wireless and DGND3700 as a very expensive modem.

    • I used to have that with an old Belkin, the F1PI242EGau, then I just updated the firmware and that fixed it. (Although this was a known issue that a lot of folks complained to Belkin about)

You sure it not the position of the Adapter/WLAN card?

      • it happens to 5 wireless nic in my place.

And yes, I'm on latest firmware.

    • I am suspecting that the channel you were using is jammed with the others in your neighbour and your network cards were not using the 5GHz band.

2.4ghz band is a damn packed frequency range. I once had a setup which I have full bar of reception showing in my laptop but the file transfer rate is like 100kb/s. It was fixed somehow by changing the channel number

  • Had one of these for a while. Never ever had an issue or any dropouts.. Dual band is handy, but the dual USB ports are super handy for streaming around the house.

Sorry for sounding like an ignorant moron…what are the major difference between this and the TP-Link modem/routers that's less than half the price??

Have netgear improved since the dgnd3300?

    Is the signal still poor?

Do they offer bug free firmware?

Does it stuff up from time to time?

  • Great modem have one myself had a few issues at 1st such as drop out and so forth. Did the firmware update and had no issue since.

  • Wouldn't recommend it to anyone… Had to change mine three times for various problems…. The signal is extremely poor… Like it's in my office, and from my room wich is only separated by a plaster wall, the signal is halved… It's barely usable downstairs… And the speed is nowhere near what they claim… Pure piece if crap!

They're tightasses when it comes to warranty.

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/69597

    Neg.

    • Before you neg, ARE you certain you know the whole story?
Please check my reply on the thread.

It arrived broken and you refused to do anything about it other than refer the guy to HP. Poor guy…

I'm guessing that if I bought this and it came broken, I would be referred to Netgear.

        • +1

Brand new sealed in box, with no reported physical damage on box delivered. With a report of damage to us from customer 15 days after the product arrived?

        • IMO regardless of the condition it arrived in or how long ago it was delivered the customer is giving you business. It's in your best interests to resolve the problem even if it does mean to have to exchange a product.

Consumers have a right to return goods at the place of purchase if they are not as described. Clearly you handled this poorly from the outset if he is running to CA now.

        • mfourcard

You're basically saying that even if 11 months passed and the purchaser only then decided to report the damaged box on delivery, the seller should still be fully responsible to make amends?

You're living in lala land when it comes to doing business. If other businesses adopted that kind of policy they would be broke long ago.

        • You will find many retailers are offering exchanges during the warranty period which is in most cases, 12 months. You need to remember it's not everyone who has a problem. Particularly if you're choosing good stock lines the fault rate hugely drops and your profit margin needs to factor in a contingency like this.

        • +1

Anyway, we're all guessing here, we don't know the specifics involved in regards to the documented physical damage sustained to the product.

Even HP rejected the claim, indicating there must be some physical damage to the item.

One thing I do know, I've accidently dropped a computer case before.

  • bought this recently and returned it as it didnt have voip ports whereas my 4 year old router has voip ports.
speedwise, it didnt show any difference to the existing one.

  • why oh why I am only seeing this now. I bought a 2nd hand one for $100 and waiting for arrival

  • NetComm NB16WV quite similar and has VOIP connector ( as well as 3G ). Got it , as replacement for NetComm NB9W and happy with it. Initially TPG VOIP did not work,
    but now it is OK.
