I have had a few multipurpose sprays and some of them tend to leave the place a bit sticky, is this one of them

According to choice Ajax is actually worse than water! It's the other big brand that is number one but I can't remember the name (or wish to remain incompetent least I have to do the cleaning)!

    • Whoa, are you serious?! I will need to check this out. Thank you for posting!

    • CHOICE EXPERT RATING
This overall score is a measure of soil removal. Our experts soil white ceramic tiles with oily grime. Using a scrubbing apparatus with a damp cloth attached, the tiles are scrubbed 40 times. The reflectance readings are measured before and after cleaning to determine the overall score.

One you are referring to is the Glass cleaner.

      • Water got 41%.
There were 3 items that performed better than ajax, and all three were recommended, while ajax was not. Comparing performance and ratings, we are comparing 78% ajax vs 90% recommended product.

  • Just put lemon scent in water and it will be better

    • Not concerned about bacteria?

      • Bacteria is everywhere, good luck trying to kill it all. For most surfaces just wiping it off with vinegar would be all you need for bacteria. Either way, it's a really average cleaner anyway, you are better off spending the money on a good cleaner, or even just make your own.

        • But then you get a vinegar scented surface not lemon scent. Not sure how well lemon and vinegar combine with water, what's your experience with that, oh great sage? :)

@coldturkey: I use vinegar, dishwashing liquid and water. This does better than most surface sprays, costs far less, and if you want lemon sent, just get lemon scented dishwashing liquid to add to it. Easy peasy! Just mix up the ratio of vinegar for different surfaces, more for bathroom, less for kitchen. Vinegar is mostly a neutral smell that works to eliminate other smells, so it goes away quickly, while spray and wipe smell lingers.

Anyway, only interesting if you want a good spray and wipe and you value your own money.

I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Rough mix of 1:1.

Combined with microfiber cloths (Bunnings does 1KG for $10, just make sure they feel absorbent and not too soft - not all packs are the same)

Much cheaper and can be used on the kitchen table, glass and even in the shower. No residue and with the microfiber cloths it's streakfree. I have about 100 cloths so once every couple months they all go in the machine on a really long hot wash and come out sparkling clean
