I was looking at getting a cheap second stick vacuum cleaner and saw this Samsung Jet 60 Lite stick vacuum cleaner deal on the Samsung Education store for $224.50 (50% off RRP) which will end on 30/04/2022. Not sure how good it is but I have decided to take a punt on it.

  • Dyson vacuna are much better ergonomically than the Samsung's.
The motor has on samsung is to heavy. Also craftsmen is not as good. But it's cheaper.

Was looking at other model vacuums at Harvey’s the other day. I was disappointed how average the other brands handled and sounded compared to the Dyson.

      • +2

Yep dyson is premium built but like apple, You have to pay the Dyson Tax.

    • Yeah but hows the suction compare? Isn't that the most important thing in a vacuum?

      • +2

        I'm sure it sucks.

      • It's 150AW so similar power to the Dyson V10, just has a weaker motorised head

  • is the Jet Fit Brush a motorized brush?

    • No, I don't believe so!

    • It isn't fully motorised or as strong like the jet 70 but it is.

  • Any big discounts on the other models 70, 90?

    • +2

It's 25% for the other models including the Bespoke Jet. I'll update the description.

      • Thanks for looking

        • +1

No worries. Updated the description with pricing on other models.

    • Nah, many of the prices are easily attainable elsewhere. The full pre-discounted price is more expensive than most retailer's non-sale prices.

  • +1

I believe you can get the clean station for $100 when you buy it in the same transaction as the vacuum cleaner. Discount is applied on checkout.

    • I think that's for the non Education store deal

      • +1

It worked for me 2 weeks ago thru the education store and I just tried it again and it still works- only for the silver clean station, does not apply to the white one.

        • Good pick up! I've updated the description.

      • Also worth mentioning, it's stacks with the newsletter discount if you have it.

        • Jet60 series does not work with the clean station.

This samsung jet 60 or the viomi a9?

    • Just paid $169 for the viomi a9 from Panmi, on its way now, I guess let's try it out.
Seems like you can't buy the battery for this Samsung vacuum stick tho

      • You can for $199 but when it's out of stock at the website, it gets taken down.

  • +2

No more Samsung for me. It took me way too long to learn my lesson. And thinking that buying through the official store means good support, big mistake.

    • +1

What happened? Ive had good support for my s21.

      • Faulty phone, they just give me the runaround. And expect you to do all the troubleshooting, I'd much rather have a retailer be a middle man than deal directly

      • I'm still waiting for my Q950A soundbar I ordered back in January to be delivered. Have had to engage their social media account to try and get anywhere, ridiculous!

    • I agree. Absolutely abysmal customer service. Remarkable that one of the largest companies in the world, has one of the worst shopping experiences ever

  • Can you stack the $50 newsletter code?

    • If you can, you need to spend $350 minimum.

I always thought Miele was samsung version of how Dyson is to Apple.
I have a Miele and it's great but Dyson is also great but unfortunately Dyson new vacuum v15 beats Miele.

Unsure why Samsung had to make vacuums, they should have just collaborated with Miele to make something better than Dyson instead they chose something subpar

Samsung might not be targetting the V15 market. Or are you saying all Samsung vacuums are subpar compared to e.g. the Dyson V7?

      • Samsung doesn't come close to the quality of any Miele c3 or Dyson V7 and above vacuums.
Meant subpar as it is an average vacuum compared to all other vacuums

        • Which Dyson/Miele does this Jet 60 Lite compete with?

          • @eug: That will require research to find out which I don't have time for

            • @lerkyp: OK, my point was that Samsung might not be targeting the V15 market. i.e. their vacuums are "subpar" compared to your V15 example because they aren't competing with a $1,500 vacuum… yet.

It's like saying why should Samsung make phones when they released the original Galaxy S; they should have just collaborated with HTC. They all have to start somewhere.

              • @eug: Um they are subpar compared to average $200 vacuums.
Thought that's what I said above

                • @lerkyp:

Thought that's what I said above

You only mentioned Miele and the $1,500 Dyson V15. The cheapest Miele cordless is $800. This deal is for a $224 Samsung vacuum.

                • @lerkyp: We are looking for a good stick vac around $200. Do you have any recommendations? Unfortunately the mi g10 is sold out at low prices.

          • @eug: This one is just below the Dyson V10 in terms of suction and performance. It's 150AW, the reason why it's cheaper is the brushhead is not as motorised compared to the jet 70 and built quality isn't as premium either.

That's a really good deal if the spec is accurate. The Dyson V10 is about $900 on sale, so one could buy 4 of these and swap them around if they break. Or have 4x the runtime of 1 vac.

              • +1

@eug: If you know your phone's, think of it like Samsung's A series where it has a range of premium specs in some areas but much much cheaper. So with the Jet 60, it's the same as the jet 70, it just loses its digital screen, thinner body and a less motorised head but run time and Airwatts remain the same.

  • Thanks grabbed one, good enough for my little room.

  • Was about to get a Dyson V8 Original for $479, but after seeing this, I am now considering the Jet 70 Complete for $524.

Does anyone have any advice on which to get?

Or is the Jet 60 adequate?

    • +1

See my comparison in my other comments between the two. The jet 60 alone is just below V10 performance so that is already more than adequate to clean with. I would only suggest The complete for that price is good as well as your benefit with that is the soft floor head that makes cleaning on hard floors so much easier. Buying that head is $149 separately

      • Damn shame it's out of stock.

Almost all of the other models can be found online for the same price that Samsung is selling in the Education Store. So there are no real bargains to be had, apart from the Jet 60 Lite.

  • Is anyone still waiting for their order? Its been 2 MONTHS and nothing from Samsung. By Far the worst experience i have ever had ordering online. DO NOT BY FROM SAMSUNG online.

    • +1

I'm having the same issue as well. I've been hassling them everyday for the past couple of weeks. Have emailed them multiple times, did the online chat, opened a dispute via PayPal (I used that to pay) and also wrote a complaint to the office of the CEO (nothing else to lose). Horrible experience.
