  • Was gonna get their deskpod charger but this one seems to be much better value.
Would be even better if it comes with different plugs for travel.

  • Can any of the ports slow charge at 25W for a S22 to avoid fast charging all the time? Or will they all deliver max allowed wattage for a single device plugged in?

    • +3

I'm pretty sure you can turn the feature off on the phone. If you want to automate it then the app 'Tasker' has a lot of options for that.

      • I believe you are correct. The output wattage is a negotiation between the device (phone) and the controller circuit in the power brick. Software settings in the phone allow you to change the request to the charger.

      • +1

You don't even need Tasker these days; Bixby Routines has a built-in feature to turn fast, fast wireless, and super fast charging on/off on a schedule.

    • It'll supply the max wattage the device demands. For phones that don't have the option of disabling fast charged, you can use a USB A to C cable without the data pins connected (2 inner pins)

What discount is on this price? Hoe is this an ozbargain?

    • It's discounted from the $150 it was previously on Zyron's website. Probably not the real price but I don't see anything like it for $70.

    • +7

This charger has been between $89.99 to 109.99 on Amazon. Was $88 with GRAB20 code couple of weeks back. RRP will be $149.99 when available in stores in future.

This price of $69.99 will only be during special sale period - EOFY, Boxing Day and Zyron’s birthday bash next year.

      • Can you please advise when will you fulfill the pre-orders? Thanks

  • +1

Does this charger come with AU plugs and other wall plugs?
    Thank you

    • +1

No mate, only fixed AU plug.

      • I actually rate this. So many come with dodgy adaptors and are made mainly for overseas. Appreciate a manufacturer that has a native Aussie plug, especially one with insulation on the prongs.

  • +2

I wish this had 2 USB and 2 USB C ports.
    Anyway, good deal.

    • Same, so I'm sticking with my 100W Baseus 2A+2C for now until a 100W w/AU plug turns up

      • What was the price of that charger?

        • 65 odd bucks or so

          • +1

@adrianhughes1998: Hmm not bad I have ordered 2 x 60-65 watt chargers for around $42 - 48 AUD but have not been able to use them yet.

Ordered a bunch of usb c to usb c cables from $8 - 10 AUD.

            60-100 watt and 1m and 2m varieties.

An impressive price for a GaN charger with those specs. Purchased, we will see what it is like.

  • Allocation sold out, now for pre-order

  • Yay! Mine has been shipped already!

  • How long until a GAN3 120W?

    • Under testing and development mate. Would take 3 months to launch.

    • +3

I dont think there is any industry standard past the initial GaN spec so I'd take V2/V3 as marketing terms.

Another way to frame this - what 'GaN3' features do you think you need that this 'GaN2' cant provide?

      • As far as I know it's more to do with the chip manufacturers than the companies that make the chargers. Navitas makes the "GAN Fast" chip thing that a lot of chargers use. The v1 chip has issues keeping the high power rates as it would overheat sometimes so the v2 is slightly better in that regard as well as being smaller (it may or may not use higher frequency) but I don't know enough about it. Changes imo are pretty marginal though

        • +1

Sure I agree that GaN V1 is probably well defined, but without formal specifications for what GaN2 or GaN3 is, can't any charger manufacturer put a new SKU on the GAN chip they are using and advertise it as whatever they want? How could an independent authority (or a user) verify what they are receiving is what they have been advertised if there isn't a spec to compare to? What would stop Powastone from releasing this 'GaN2' charger with a GaN3 label and call it a day?

  • I have a smaller Zyron 66w with LED light that’s always on - I don’t like this feature. Does this charger have a light on it?

    • +1

This 120W does not have LED indicator

      • Does it come with US, UK and Europe charger head adapter like the 66w one?

        • This one with Fixed AU plug only to meet SAA requirements

    • +1

You can always tape it off.

      • +2

I've used blutac in the past to complete the blackening of the room!

  • +1

Keep in mind that when you're charging four devices the combined output on both (C3 & A) is 3A

  • Unboxing/quick test video I found for Zyron chargers. Presentation wise looks good with the appropriate markings.

This model's registration on ERAC if anyone interested - ZY-WC-120W

    No Afterpay no deal

    • Can use PayPal's pay in 4 option

    • Hahaha. Ok. Wow.

    • Your loss. More for others then, thanks.

  • In the market for a new multi-port charger for my S21 Ultra, as well as an iPad Air 5th Gen and iPhone 13. Is this overkill?

    • one charger to rul them all

  • Will this charge my Oppo find X2 any faster than the original stock charger/cable will? Not really sure how these work.

    • +2

The charge rate is determined by the device, not the charger. This may charge faster if your stock charger is rated less than what the phone can actually take.

  • Does this charger reset when another device is connected or disconnected?

  • The website said 25 remaining when I ordered yesterday. Will this be sent today? I notice someone else's was shipped 22 hours ago

  • +1

    Is their website down?

    • Nope, just doesn't work for some. Try private tab, clear cookies, vpn

  • +2

    No day 7 deal?

    • +3

Ya, I don’t see any either. Was waiting eagerly for this one!

  • I checked in the interval of every hour, but still no update of any kind!

  • Got shipping notification saying its delivering today! Bought when there were still in stock units. Fast shipping none the less.

    • Was there a tracking number?

      • Yeah they had shipped it out on the day I bought it - with tracking number from Sendle.

        • Thanks for the update mate. I got mine few days ago. Not sure what service they had used.

  • Dear all, we received the stock today and will be dispatching all the pre-orders starting tomorrow. We will try to send out all pre-orders by 5th. Thank you all for your patience.

  • +1

Still waiting for mine in Perth, last Sendle update was "Parcel processing at depot" on April 26, with a Couriers Please tracking number on the note that doesn't return anything on the Couriers Please tracking…

  • So I just recieved mine yesterday. I ended up buying a heymix 120w version as well as I was worried I wasn't going to receive it before I went on holidays. Interestingly the Zyron 120w is about 50g heavier. It's a slightly smaller unit (shorter, but minorly fatter).

All good so far from me.

  • I bought two of these and neither seems to work on my iPad air, but they work on everything else I've tried. (Other PD chargers work fine on it). Has anyone else received one and have any experience of it not working on anything?
