You can get it cheaper from Dyson eBay with code “TOPITUP” https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dyson-V8-Origin-cordless-vacuum-…

      That’s nice, comes to $459.08

I don’t even have ebay plus.

      • You could have it for $4.99/month and then cancel.

I noticed Myer have these on special for $499.

Just wondering if the v8 is still a good model as there are a few new versions out now. Don't see the value spending $1k or more on one.
My Bosch Athlet has that power cut out fault, YouTube suggests jamming a bit of plastic in to tighten up the contacts where the handle joins on.. kind of fixes it but not quite. Shame if these things aren't ever built to last.

        • Is the v8 cheaper with eBay plus?

There’s so many Dysons. Wish the names made it clearer what are where one the ranking of best to worst.

We need a deal on a Dreame V9/V10. There hasn’t been one in ages.

    • How does Dreame compare to Dyson? Haven't seen or used a Dreame before.

      • Dyson is better, but costs twice as much minimum.

      • I have both the v9 and v8.

The roller heads on the v9 are near useless when compared to a Dyson v8.

The brush hair depth/length is far too short, and doesn't clean as much.

This matters if you have a pet or have dust mite allergies.

The suction on the Dreame v9 on medium is weaker than the v8 on normal.

    • I returned my Dreame T20 to Costco recently. Great when it worked, similar to Dyson V10, but the power head stopped spinning after 9 months.

    • My Dreamme T20 stopped working after a couple of months. Really disappointing…it replaced a 7 year old Dyson.

Im a fan of Xiaomi products, but I don’t think I’ll be buying another in the near future. I ended up buying another Dyson and do not regret

  • How do people find the charge on these things? I always look at it and imagine that 40 minutes just aint enough.

    • +1

Wait till you use it in max suction mode. It will last only 7-8 minutes. Gulps down the battery like beer!

    • 40 mins is a lot for these kind of devices. My bosch athlet certainly doesn't get that, but fine for a quick goin over an apartment.
Most people would have a proper vacuum as well with more attachments /power etc..

Plenty of different models, not sure if the V8 is still decent, seems like basically it still goes alright, did a quick google:

Is Dyson V11 much better than V8?
While both vacuums have a very similar design, the V8 does a better job on bare floors as well as low-pile carpet. However, the V11 is easier to maintain, it has on-board tool storage, and its dirt compartment is bigger. It also performs better on high-pile carpet and its maximum battery life is more than the V8.

  • Is this good for hard floors. Need a cordless for wood floorboards.

    • +1

Yes it is. It would be even better with the fluffy roller head. Soft rollers are considered best on hard floors.

  • Ordered from eBay thanks OP.
Should be fine for small apartment with combination hard floor and low height pile carpet. Pretty quick to do the whole place.

Just dropped in price on eBay comes to $440.68 with the "TOPITUP" code. still on the fence though

    • Hmm I should lodge a price protection claim 28d.
The V8 should be good, replacing a Bosch Athlet.

  • Hey do you guys know if any deals for buying an extra attachment or so, maybe they are on ebay?
received the vac and goes pretty nicely, perfect for the small apartment cleans, got a 20yo miele for the more thorough cleans & dusting..
