As per the title, I want to cancel a flight online. But I am not sure if the flight credit will be instant or if I will need to wait weeks to receive it.
I’d like to book another flight straight away.
I wanted to cancel just the return flight, but it looks like there is no options for that.
Refunds take weeks though
Yeah that’s what I thought, it’s the wording on their website that made me wonder
The flight credit is issued against the booking reference number of the flight that is credited.
You should get an email relatively quickly with a link to be able to use it
I've cancelled flights for credit a few times in the last 12 months and have always gotten the email confirming the credit within a few minutes.
Should be straight away for the points if it is domestic or international originating in Aus (ie. booked through Qantas Aus).
I cancelled a HKG-MEL award flight in Feb and it was definitely not instant - had to chase up the points a couple of times and took a few weeks, and still waiting on the $$.
