serious question, how is this compare to sony wf-1000mx4?

Amazon is not in the business of selling your personal information to others.

    Do you really believe that?

    • +1

I sort of believe it. If anything they'd be keeping it for themselves.

Yes this is usually the case. Honestly it's not in any of the big players' interest to sell raw personal information anymore. Nowadays the likes of Amazon, Google are a lot more interested in building a customer model for targeted ads, services, products. The personal data is more or less abstracted away from the modeling. Take of that what you will I guess.

But isn't Google revenue driven by ads (hence need to sell our info) whereas Amazon's is by subscriptions (hence little interest in sharing, since they'd want our personal info for retention strategy)?

Not saying Amazon are benevolent here but it makes no more sense than for Netflix to sell data to outsiders, when their sole revenue is based on acquisition and retention, with no ads

          • @y2k: That's why I said take of that what you will :D Any ad platform will profile user traffic, Google is just a lot more powerful due to their widely used and interconnected services. If done correctly, the profiling/modeling layer sits on top of raw personal data and it's this layer that can be exposed (although not always necessarily) to businesses. Would you consider your profile/behavior/pattern personal data? I guess in a sense they are but for some, so long as it's not identifiable, it's not. It's a grey area for sure though.

    • hahaha, is like a Bezos said i am the biggest charity guy in the world.
