Not a bad deal on NBA 2K22 for PS5 / XSX / XSS, sure it might be cheaper if you wait, but given the season is still underway and about half way through the yearly release cycle its decent.

Target is selling xsx version at 29 for weeks. Free C&C.
Anyone got this and willing to share their thoughts on the state of the series??
I have had every year since 2K on Dreamcast but after 2k21 I found I can't handle the clear title towards microtransactions……favourite two modes were My player and My team but both have now completely driven to maximise profits from the transactions.
Used to be able to pop 10 mins a day into the 2K companion app for 500 points and then play a game or two in my player, which would mean a reasonable progression in skill upgrades without needing to buy points…….they killed that off after 2k20
My team was great getting vintage players and the freedom to make your own team with badge upgrades on the ones you like but 2k21 also tilted that system in favour of pay to win with hiding the majority of top badges behind pay walls.
Without a valid competitor, since NBA Live fell over, it seems 2k are particularly lazy on their preference for transactions vs rewarding long time players.
If the game was free to play I would be less annoyed but even at $30 I doubt I'll jump on it anymore.
im mostly offline, dont pay to play, its fun, brings a bit of nostalgia, im at about 3800 card level, only reason is found a way to make constant MT, My League is fun, do a draft of old players, and play a season, at your own pace, plus for me, no other games to play, im a Division 2 player, and basically just waiting for avatar or the new star wars, but yeah waiting for it to be on gamepass, then trade copy,
Do you just accrue MT in game achievements? I think that was the main way I did it in 2k21
Wish the companion app still accrues points.
yeah but thats pittance, like if you play a 30min game u get say 1k… u play tto or offline u get say 3-500, but if you sell shoe boosts or badges you can profit thousands for each… ive made millions. also another good way is getting the hyped card of the week, load up HOF badges and hope for big profits
I don't really play MyCareer or MyTEAM all that much, mostly offline play with my bro. Definitely a reskin/roster update over 2K21. Some better animations and facial scans (eg. Luca Doncic's player/face model and his stepback animation, but no innovative or game-changing mechanics/features that have been introduced.
NBA 2K22 $29 at mwave for Xbox Series X only, delivery $5.99.
