I have this from last time, can i stack so i have 1.5 years going?

    • +1

      No.

Good deal nocure, equates to $6.50 per month.

    • +4

I was lucky enough to get the $45 cashback offer last year, plus two referrals meant I was five bucks out of pocket for a year of service

  • +7

Great plan but downside is no international calling included in the plan..so am gonna give it a miss.

    • +2

Do you know any long expiry prepaid sim card with international calls included? (apart from Boost)
      Thank you

    • +1

Yes good observation, that was the first thing I was looking for. They seem very keen to keep a minimum monthly spend of $30 for the international inclusions.

    • How often do you make international calls

  • +1

Anyone found if there's any Activate by XX date?

    • +2

You need to activate within 30 days if you want cashback to track.

  • +7

Amaysim is good but recently found out their sims don't allow conference ( 3 way) calls, this was a requirement for work so had to switch providers

    • +1

I got dialled into a phone conference from my Amaysim plan. I haven't tried initiating it but certainly someone could merge my amaysim line in.

      • +1

Correct. You can be added in but you can't initiate.

    • +3

If work require you to make certain calls why don't they give you the tools to do it?

      • +2

Who said they didn't? Maybe she/he gets reimbursed / allowance…

    • +1

It's been this way for yonks, since I started using them in 2015. Also, call waiting, you can't put someone on hold. It's annoying.

  • Assuming new users only?

  • +4

I would recommend holding off on these 1 yr amaysim deals. Call quality has dropped significantly and they really need to enable VOLTE support soon. I signed up in December and hoping I hadn't.

Amaysim is one of the few providers left that still offer international roaming without some crazy expensive per day add-on. Great for if you just want to be able to receive 2 factor codes while travelling

    • Circle.Life as well

    • Lebara has roaming too. Lebara's plans come with some free international calling too (a limit based on the plan). If Amaysim had some included international calling, I'd be on this. Had it once, but used a now-defunct free international calling method. You might think: why do you need to make calls, just use Whatsapp or something? Old people (i.e. parents) aren't adept with such technologies.

      • Yeah, Lebara is Vodafone network though.

  • +3

Just a heads up- if you select a new number the 365 day count down begins from the purchase date.

    • +7

You can choose to port when purchasing, then when activating select a new number.
      Problem solved.

      • +2

        Good tip, thanks.

Received a new 6 months small sim last month and got a sms saying they will start my plan not from order date

but around 10 days later to allow for mail time ( thought that was fair too ), YMMV.

    • +1

From my exp, I ring the call centre and ask them to reset the start date. As the SIM can take 1-2 weeks to arrive, seems only reasonable.

With a 'family' of 7 phones we bounce in and out of amaysim routinely.

  • +2

It is also $21 cash back at shopback just FYI

  • thank you , got one

  • Does amaysim do esim? Vowifi?

Someone mentioned no volte. And international roaming available but no international calling on this plan.

    • +1

No esim, no volte, no vowifi.

If you need these features Gomo is worth a look

      • No 5G on amaysim I assume

        • Correct no 5G either.

          • -1

@stirlo: I've had 5g on my phone with Amaysim

            • @DvApps: Had? What happened?

              • +1

@hashtagbargain: I meant to say I've received 5G service to my phone, but it was only once since I never go in areas that have good 5G coverage haha

  • Expiry date?

  • +4

Taking a similar deal last time was a big mistake - advertised as being on the Optus network, yet found coverage was poor enough to be unusable and significantly poorer relative to my partner using Optus with identical handsets.

    YMMV

    • +3

This is because it doesn't work in 4G only areas as no volte. I have same issue.

    • +1

Adding to this to say data is incredibly laggy at times (in the Sydney area) and I can't wait to change providers.

  • +4

Amaysim have a nice feature where you can have a list if numbers that you can select as new number. They also have a tool where you can find for available numbers based on a 4 digits pattern. You can use that to generate a number that easy for you to remember - DOB, postcode, house number, etc.

    • +1

Yep, I got my current "free semi-premium" number from playing with this some years back. Look for a fresh range and explore availability.

    • Purchased 2 premium numbers from Amaysim in the last year. $30 each is a bargain.
      Then switched to another provider.

  • Can I use it on a mobile router / mifi?

  • +1

Any way to get this deal using existing number from amaysim?

    • +1

Just Buy $2 SIM from.any other network. Like Optus, Vodafone, Telstra.
Port ur Number there. Next day Transfer back to Amaysim. Or U can buy $10 Sim card and use it 1 month and then activate Amaysim after.1 month.

      • thanks!

  • When is the next $35 cash back offer on the 50% discounted plans that we had about 3 months ago?

    • +1

Yea, I got my 6 month plan from there, it expired, I held out for a week and then renewed the $150 6 month with a 25% discount via chat for being a long term customer.

  • Good to see they're still doing deals, hope they do one on the 120gb plan soon

  • +1

I have to give up this comany and recently switched out my service from them. They can't fix my problem for more than a month. Keep telling me that everything is ok but problem exists for a long time without any solution or improvement. Keep asking me for samples. Can't image if I have this plan before. I have to wait a year to get rid of it without the ability to calling my hometown when the service is supposed to be included.

    • No you don't have to wait. If you have evidence to show you weren't given what was advertised & Amaysim can't resolve it then you are within your rights to make a complaint with the TIO.

Takes 10 minutes & then the onus is put back on to Amaysim to contact you & sort it out.

  • +1

Similar to LittleDon's comment the conference call is a big deal for me, I used Amaysim for a few years (no problem) then switched to Optus and now I'm back on a 6 Months plan until I realised they're not offering conference calls anymore. Apart from that I never had an issue with them, good customer service.
I'm thinking of switching to a Telstra Network and have been looking to Boost and Aldi Mobile, anyone that could share experiences on both telcos.

  • +2

I could not find the expiry as the T&C page was missing. So the following is from support:

The unlimited 60gb for $120 for $99 is valid until the 30/04/22

  • Tossing between this and Kogan for receive-calls only phone. The only bit I am worrying about is call signal.

    • +2

Just buy an Aldi sim if all you want to do is receive calls. It's $5 and will last one year.
      https://www.aldimobile.com.au/products/payg

      • Oooh thanks so much!

        • +1

No probs, turn off mobile data if you don't want the $5 credit to get chewed up straight away.

  • $21off with code+$21 with cashback=total $44off ???

    • $42*

  • Hopefully, they do the 12-month 165GB for $55 after cashback deal like last year
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/666005

    • Get a dual sim phone then you won't have to worry about a 12 month sim with enough data.

  • how do i click on someone's referral code and then make sure cashrewards track as well?

  • Got the $12/2gb/28days awhile back and got an email offering $20/25gb/28days. With a no limit data banking amaysim is bomb

  • Can anyone make payment now? I just failed to pay using cash rewards links. I have tried different cards and PayPal.

  • Has anyone had luck receiving the funds from cash reward website? I purchased the amaysim 60g 1 year plan back in Feb this year when it was on special for $99 and a further cashrewards bonus of $17.50. Unfortunate for me there was a system glitch on amaysim's end and they ended up charging me $99 twice for porting my number to amaysim. Both charges were tracked by cashrewards.com.au. I contacted amaysim after noticing the double charge and they ended up refunding one of the charges.

Just recently I found out that both my cashrewards rewards for $17.50 each were denied. I contacted cashrewards and they said at first they did not know why they were rejected. I asked for more details from them as telling me 'I don't know' is not a good enough reason. My email was responded to by the next person up the chain of command with the following reason for denying the cashrewards claim:

"It seems that your Cashback Claim with amaysim was declined due to the system glitch and refund you received. I'd like to note that our store terms say "You won’t earn Cashback if an order is cancelled, changed or returned." Unfortunately due to this, your cashback was declined by amaysim.

Sorry I could not help you further, enjoy the rest of your day."

Through no fault of my own I have been denied $17.50 and arguing my case with cashrewards is like shouting at a brick wall.

So I have now turned to Amaysim to see if they can help. Stay tuned for further updates…

  • I received the SIM but have not activated it. Is it possible to sell it to someone else? Amaysim has recorded my number to port in.

    • That SIM is locked to your ID/account.
