First time posting something.
I've heard these are decent. I've also heard they're horrible. Who knows :/
I believe they have a free shipping option from their WA warehouse (apparently OOS at VIC warehouse).

Curious to know, do you know how the M50 is bluetooth vs wired?
I'm still using my trusty wired M40x
My personal preference was, and still is, wired M40x with yaxi pads and change in my pocket, over the M50 range, bluetooth or not.
Had the M40x with brainwavez pads on it.
Very comfortable.
Original pads are quite bad for long listening sessions.
I personally do not like the hinge design though.
That being said.
Paired with Wavelet (headphone profile correction app on Android + a bit of eq) sounded amazing.
But I get the appeal for the wireless.
So much nicer to travel with.
I have the first version and i love them. Durable, comfortable, great battery life with good sound. I only have a couple of gripes, mainly it being Micro USB rather than type c and that the on/off is a switch with no timeout meaning that if i forget to switch them off i can end up draining the battery, oh and they don't do multi-device pairing.
It does look like they fixed all these things in the V2 though.

That's not the M50X though, and this isn't the M50X, either. The M50X had some improvements over the M50, but it also introduced some weaknesses.
None of these headphones are neutral or flat.
Rtings on the ATH-M50xBT2's
"The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 are good for neutral sound. Their sound profile is very neutral and not as boomy or bass-heavy as the original Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT. If you prefer a different sound, you can customize it with a graphic EQ and presets in the companion app. However, they have a poor passive soundstage performance and are prone to inconsistent bass and treble delivery."
overall a 7.7 for neutral sound broken down into:
8.7 Bass Accuracy
8.4 Mid Accuracy
7.2 Treble Accuracy
5.1 Passive Soundstage
8.7 Imaging
7.7 Weighted Harmonic Distortion
7.2 Frequency Response Consistency

I wish I could show how many times I've mentioned on this website that RTings' score system is flawed, due to how they grade their own subjective experience and how they weight certain scores. Even their measurement systems are outdated.
They are good for a very basic comparison of frequency response, and for comfort, fit and features of the device, but that's when they stop being useful because of how they choose to define psychoacoustic terms in the context of headphone performance.
It is very well understood that the M50x wired is a W-shaped sound curve by most measures of sound, with exaggerated base (even by Harman closed back reference curves), a big dip in the high bass/lower mids, and a very intense treble.
What's more, the staging on the M50x is about as bad as it gets in modern headphones. All the M50xBT2 does is improve the bluetooth quality and battery life compared to the original BT version, which took the intensity of the M50x and made it worse.
If you're interested in audio quality, look at the AKG K371 wired (never the BT version), and give it a BT adaptor of sufficient quality if you want to make that sound portable, or if you want a bluetooth beater right now, a high value option is the AKG N700NC M2 for $130 or less.
AKG/Samsung are killing it right now when it comes to closed backs and IEMs. If you'd like to learn more about this head-to-head from a wired perspective, check this video.
Before wireless headphones were common these headphones(wired ver) were the best bang for buck 10 years ago or so.
Released in 2014, but the proper audiophile recommendation was the Sennheiser HD 25, and the Shure SRH840.
These days it's the AKG K371.
im talking about the non x model which was cheaper only diff was the cable was permanent….
Good price! Also available on The Good Guys Commercial for $208 + delivery / free pickup
these have builtin mic yeah? so i can take calls when im working on the pc
It does have a specs section on a microphone, so unless I'm seriously misunderstanding something, then I would say yes.
wonder how the quality is like…
probably dogshit. there is literally no bluetooth over ear headphone out there with good mic
I'm still using the original wired Audio Technica ATH-M50x.
I wonder how it holds up nowadays compared to other headphones and bluetooth headphones.
I bought Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT2 when I last posted them for $245 on 22/03/2022…

Sound is balanced and can be adjusted in "connect" app for Android. Quality is great.
I will just focus on the negatives which is my personal experience and include possibe solutions.
Prices may be cheaper elsewhere, but I hope this helps :)
Cups are too tight on ear's. Bought these and they are now Snug as a Bug in a Rug.

M50 are a great headphone. These are found in studios all around the world because they're tough, reasonably priced, and importantly, sound good.
