I'm sure the lock picking lawyer would have something to say about the "anti-theft" claims.

"secure" and "hidden" zip compartments aren't much good when they just run off with the bag.

      • or when the pockets are so hidden you can't find them to put your stuff in.

on a serious note, compared to the two dell backpacks (15 and 17 inch versions) bought from the recent sale, this kogan one looks decent. It has far more pockets which would be more user friendly. I think the dell basically had two pockets - one for laptop, one for small stuff, then the big blender section for everything else.

only gripe with the kogan one is that the bottle pocket is internal not external.

Genius move this one. If it leaks then all your stuff inside is in danger.

Buying a "secure" item from kogan

delivery is only free to a small amount of postcodes, you find this out after they steal your money

  • Zip will be first to break on this, nothing special about the bag. I got the same bag.

Look up previous posts under 'anti theft bag kogan', for the feedback

Zip broken. Then more "anti theft"

I have a similar back pack and made use of the hidden pockets for a while. I don't feel good about this bargain being listed here for everyone's knowledge, now everyone's knows where the hidden pockets are. I have been stashing my valuables there, time to look for a new place to hide.

"Anti-Theft" is only in the mind of the buyer.

now everyone's knows where the hidden pockets are

As so many of this type of bag have been made for years & shown on websites, I don't think its been any secret to thieves!

I've walked past gangs overseas, training each other on how to scam & rob tourists. If you aren't aware, or use many of the commonly available "Anti-Theft" approaches - you will be vulnerable.

Best defence - just look too poor to bother robbing. Avoid being in a tight crowd where a knife can easily slice through packs & pockets to find your treasures! (Happened to fellow traveller, who didn't realise they'd been robbed.) Worked for me in decades of travel.

Luckily, there are far easier targets in plain sight. Like those who keep their expensive phone on display in back pocket or flash their wealth. Why go to the effort, time & risk to steal from a bag which may have nothing of interest.

      • I agree. Don't dress like a million dollars if you don't want attention. I tend to pack the worst clothes in my wardrobe when I travel to well known crime spots with my yellowed t-shirts with holes and $2 worn down flip flops and have hardly attracted any attention. It's only when I walk into higher end stores like LV that I occasionally get a raised eyebrow, but nothing that credit cards and cash can't fix lol.

    “Same price on dick smith”

Aren’t they the same (garbage peddling, spam generating, consumer rights dodging) company?

I bought one of these last time.

It’s anti-theft mostly because access to the main compartment is through a zip that’s against your body when you’re wearing it. So people can’t unzip it while it’s on your back.

The straps were always a bit thin for the buckles, I had to knot them to stop the straps from sliding through and loosening. After six months a buckle broke and I threw it away.

This is a $10 opportunity to work out if you like the design enough to buy a proper good one from somewhere else

    Security by obscurity?

It's funny how a single title description changes the entire way how this product is viewed. If the title was "laptop backpack with secure zip location" or something modest, it would unlike "anti theft" then this product wouldn't be bashed so hard.
