Officeworks deal in December was $999, much better

    Similar laptop

    • +5

that one is 5600h and 16' and weigh 2kg, this one is 14' weigh 1.4kg, different types

    • It was most likely a pricing error by Officeworks, and was probably meant for the laptop with the spec in the below link. This spec appeared a day or two online after that deal and laptop disappeared on the website.

      https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-15-…

The deal price for the higher spec Lenovo IdeaPad pro version has never been repeated. The laptops were in such low quantity, and only available in certain states and stores. Additionally stock of the IdeaPad Pro has never been replenished.

Hundreds bought it, I got one easy and have it to another member here.

Really hate the expandable RAM slots being taken away

  • Legion 5i Pro 12th gen is also out now and has 10% off, but not much of a bargain at the current price.

    • +1

you can still use the AUTUMNAU promo code on the non edu store…

  • +1

wish i could customise this one for a brighter display

    • You can add LEDs

  • No .edu email address unfortunately

    • Sign up for a free course at TAFE and they'll provide you with one.

    • Ask a friend who is in school or University or if they have a kid in either.

    • I've bought through the edu store without a school email. Had to find my old post, but this worked.

I was able to get all the way to the checkout but it would never let me progress yet wouldn't give any error. Ended up jumping on live chat where they converted my cart to a quote, I then had that emailed to me and called up and paid over the phone.

  • Is this the latest one or will there be a ryzen 6000 series version?

Just notice from the normal website you can modify this version of amd.
Can you mod / add an extra ram? (Dual channel ram)

  • No thunderbolt?

    • +1

AMD does not support thunderbolt, only INTEL does.

      • Is it worth just for thunderbolt to opt for Intel?

        • +1

Doubtful, unless you want to dock to 2x 4K monitors, or you need to work with existing TB docks.

        • +1

In gerneral, Intel has thunderbolt but amd version has better battery life, it is up to you for the tradeoff

  • Deal definitely hasn't expired. Just picked one up and it's cheaper now at $1,248.72.

    • wait time is more than 8 weeks still?

  • +1

Just FYI to everyone. Wait time now says more than 8 weeks.

  • Is the new x1 carbon 10th gen also reduced on the edu store?

  • OP should mark deal as expired.

Bought this last week (as the shipping dates dropped from 8 to 3 weeks)
and got a call / email from Lenovo yesterday, saying that this model is out of stock / end of life :(

The normal website is no longer showing this model but for some reason the edu store is still showing this model up and you can even add it to cart.
