@jv: you sit in a chair made in bangladesh

          • @jv: Ignorance can be bliss, don't you think. The more you know, the more restrictive you become. I don't think this but it's true in many settings.

Have you ever been on Reddit and a bot comments something completely random and useless on a post?
jv is the "country of manufacture" bot

        • -1

Jv is often making racist/anti china comments

          • +1

@gimli: I think it's an opinion. And don't read it as just one group. Bangladesh are also highlighted.

          • @gimli: Yeah don't read between lines. Don't think JV has anything against China. Just trying to be funny like that Australian peanut butter but made in New Zealand.

I've never read such an accurate description of JV oml

    • Like something else that is designed in California?

        Tesla ?

Except Apple do legitimately hire thousands of people in the US for research and development for their products designed in California.

Some how I don’t think the same can be said for this chair.

  • There's absolutely nothing Scandinavian about this chair.

Well, the chair name is "Anderson"

    19*6 = $115 without a table
Chairs made of polypropylene and plywood.

That's still kind of expensive for what you're getting..

    • do you have any other options?

      • Always.
        - You can spend a bit more on something that's going to be used everyday for years to come
        - You could check out FB Marketplace/Gumtree
        - Look online for other places and sales. This was on the first page and took me less than a minute to search and find.

  • The max load capacity is 100Kg

That rules out half of us

      • fit a buttock each onto each chair

I have these chairs and they are the worst. Extremely uncomfortable and make so much noise when sitting down or standing up from them, seems the plastic chair rubs on the timber legs. Before anyone asks, not over the weight limit 😁

Very much regret buying them and actively looking to replace them.

  • And the echo farts💨

  • On the plus side at least buying from Kmart it should have pretty decent warranty arrangements. I guess about half the stuff I own might be made in China. This worried me not at all when they were great trading partners for Australia. I hoped that if their was ever conflict in our region that they would stand with us.

However, these days they are a bad trading partner, in any conflict they would likely stand against us and I wonder when I buy stuff if it has been made by using slave ( forced Uyghur) labour.

Just the same nice looking chairs at a bargain price. I would be happier if they were made in just about any of our near South East Asian neighbouring countries but a good bargain anyway.
