A good price on this previously popular Xiaomi portable air compressor and the cheapest I can currently find. This is the new version which has USB-C charging, a flow rate of 15L/pm compared to 7L/pm of the original and an inbuilt light.

I use this to check my electric scooter tyre pressure every week and fills them up in a couple of seconds. It's also kept in my car as it's powerful enough to inflate the tyres.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive and stacks with cashback.

  • Risky seller?

Probably not? I find aliexpress buyer protection quite decent

      • +3

        Is this a joke?

        • +7

I have had no-shows refunded promptly, and products which were 'ehh' but still functional partially refunded via the DR service. Perhaps you'd like to contribute your 2 cents, preferably in more than 4 words?

@KeplersLaws: Wrong item delivered by AusPost with photo proof that AusPost had another sticker with my address slapped on top of the original recipient. Ali sided seller and refused to processed a refund. I had to open a dispute with PayPal with the same photo proof to get my money back. And guess what, after 4 months later the correct item arrived and I contacted Ali to reverse the refund and Ali said case closed no further actions it would take.
Ali customer services for both sellers and buyers are nothing but one word SH!T.

@wtfnodeal: damn. sounds like a bad experience indeed. I've found them ok.

@KeplersLaws: Great customer service for me, ordered 10 toys but two of them were broken. The seller refused to provide a reasonable partial refund so I opened a dispute. I uploaded photos of the fault and in 3 days I got full refunds equivalent to the price of two.

@plmko: great customer service but a bad experience I would say.

                  • @misu p: It is what it is. You have cheap low price products served by foreign businesses. Whilst having broken stuff shouldnt be expected, Aliexpress at least gives you fall back.

          • @KeplersLaws:

partially refunded via the DR service

DR service? Could you please elaborate further.

        • I have found AliExpress buyer protection to also be quite good. I have heard that they seem to provide better service to people that order/spend more regularly than those that don't.

          • @witheredcouch: Yes it is disclosed in their tier system. But it is really no different to passive syatems with Amazon where reps actually respond to good cuatomers or Ebay having direct lines for Plus memebers.

        • +2

AliExpress recently overhauled their dispute system and are far more likely to give instant refunds for lost orders. It's all covered under insurance anyway so the seller doesn't make a loss in the end.

  • I have an old BMW e36 with semi deflated tyres I was thinking of limping to the servo, would this be powerful enough to inflate them?

    • +4

Yep it’ll take about 5 minutes per 12 psi on my car tyres.

    • +1

These kinds of portable battery-powered pumps are more for top-ups rather than doing a full inflation, but they'll do the job. You may have to pause pumping after 5-10 mins to allow it to cool down a bit.

If you're regularly doing heavy duty air pumping, better just to get a proper 12V air compressor which are designed for that sort of thing, it'll be far faster too.

    • I had a completely deflated tyre, and this pumped it up enough to get to the servo to finish it off. Didn't take long.

  • +2

I've got one of these & I use it for my electric scooter and car tyre top ups. Works like a charm, a few seconds to top up scooter & maybe 10-15 seconds to top up car tyres every now and again. Would strongly recommend.

Great price. Thanks Clear. I've been happy with my previous model of this but definitely happy to upgrade and get rid of another Micro - USB device. As well as increased output.

$61.19 local stock if you don't want to wait.

    • Is 61.19 for eBay Plus? I got 67.99.

  • Nice, I have one for around the house and it's great for scooter and bike tyres. Picked up another to keep in the back of the car.

these are great, perfect solution for motorcycles

  • +2

Not great for presta bicycle tyres, FYI, if your bike tyres has removable presta valve core (e.g continental).

  • I ordered this one yesterday (about a dollar cheaper)

    • Shipping: US $2.31

      Makes it more expensive.

      • This one is US$39.29. The one in the link is 35.99 + 2.32 (shipping) = US$38.31

Unless I'm missing something, it still works out (slightly) cheaper.

        It's also the 1S version.

Just in case the top link gets ozbargained.

        • It's the GST added at checkout that makes it more pricey.

          • @Clear: Thanks, but wouldn't tax apply equally to both items?

Though I see the original item is even cheaper now than advertised.

    • +1

      Thats the micro-usb version too

  • The battery won't last, go flat in few minutes of use.

    • What did you try it on?

    • I have no problem and use it to top up car tyres.

  • Could this do a standup paddleboard? Asking for a wife who bought one without a pump

    • You would have to be very patient if you want to use it with a SUP.
It could deliver enough pressure, but there's a trade-off between flow and high pressure with these small pumps. This one has small flow but a relatively high pressure so it can fill up bicycle tyres etc.
A SUP has a higher volume, therefore SUP compressors have a higher flow but don't go up as far in pressure.
