Is there Big w anker life

    • No, big w do not sell this brand

      • Sadly just the big w oosh life.

        • Lol

          • @gimli: Maybe Kmart sells Anko Life…

Have had these since they were launched. Got it for about ten bucks more off Ali. Doesn't receive any more firmware updates

It is very solid for the price and way outclasses anything else at the same price point. I wouldn't get the Q35 or whatever the successor was, because that's a ripoff for hardly any benefits.

      Very positive review…

I guess it’s possible the firmware developers just can’t improve on perfection. Occasionally people just get it right the first time.

My guess is the R35 or possibly Q36. Both equally catchy…

It is. I wasn't expecting much but they did well. Edifier have kinda matched them at this price point with the new model they released last year.

But yeah the ANC is strong and sound quality is pretty good with the Soundcore Q30. Can get a tad muddy if you push it too hard and with too much bass, but other than that, can't complain for 100 bucks.

Had the q30 and upgraded to q35 and can tell the q35 are a major upgrade over the q30, better build quality (even the case is better quality), better sound quality, better deeper ear pads, has LDAC, better mics, can connect to two devices at the same time, wearing detection and it’s now also wired hi-res, you can plug the cable in and the sound is amazing and you can also use noise canceling and ambient while wired (the q30 will automatically turn itself off as soon as you plug the cable in).
Overall in my opinion a worthy upgrade, got them for $200 on eBay and it’s worth every penny, should you get the q35 over the q30 for an extra $100? Absolutely.

    • Can get the AKG N700MC2's for around this price and build quality aside, they're better sounding than the Airpods Max and the Sony's as well

      • I assume you mean AKG N700nc M2? Where can you get them for around $100?

Does anyone know how it compares to Taotronics BH-085.
Also do they have any good TWS. Looking to return pixel buds series a. Frequent connection drops especially between calls.

    • I have edifier TWS as they've always served me well thru TWS1, TWS2, TWS5, TWS NB and now Neobuds Pro.

Haven't tried Anker TWS line but most reviews I've seen online seem to be very positive about them

    • Don't get Taotronics, I think I had the same model you mentioned and within a week they became unresponsive and went back. They sounded nice, they just didn't work

For $100 I'm not sure what the expectation is? For around $305 (3 x as much) I got a pair of Sony WH1000XM4B seconds and they are very (profanity) Ninja.

    • Two different classes. For three times the price, I'd expect three times the audio and ANC quality , but dunno how that would pan out

      • -1

Sony WH1000XM4B are Witchcraft as far an noise cancellation goes, what is your expectation for $100? At this price point is it worth paying less?

        • Maybe some people don't want to pay 300 or more dollars for headphones, so this deal is for them. It's entirely fair.

      • +1

It'll never scale that nicely. Much like phones, spending three times as much never gets you 3 times better.

However if I'm on a 15 hour flight I'm going to wish I spent $200 extra on my headphones to get the best ANC possible. But for using for calls in the home office when the loudest noise is the aircon and the music I'm listening to is just a bit of a distraction, $100 is going to be pretty much as good as $300.

        • +2

$200 extra just for quieter ANC on one 15 hour flight? Nah, not worth it for me.

          • @edfoo: Unless you're coming home on a boat wouldn't it be 2 flights and 30 hours?

How do you go about connecting these headphones to the plane entertainment system?

Is the connection via Bluetooth only, if so do you experience any lip sync issues?

    • I expect decent sound quality and ANC that will at least work for most common use cases (to drown out public transport, noisy house hold appliances etc.). I have that and more with my BH090 which I got for $75 but I don't think they sell that anymore. Below this price point of ~$100 you generally lose out on sound quality (to me this is a deal-breaker) and passable ANC, will also probably feel very cheap and like it would break if dropped a few times. Above this price I expect better sound quality and ANC mainly, as well as extras like maybe a long warranty, build quality that feels indestructible and comfort that allows you to wear it all day without causing any problems.

  • I have the Taotronics TT-BH046, been very good for its price.
Anyone know if how these two compare?
Also someone wrote on Amazon when you have this Anker plugged in (non-wireless), you lose the ANC function. Is that true?

I have these headphones sitting next to me. They're excellent and I love everything about them. The sound is solid and provides good customization. The noise cancelling is excellent for the price too :)

  • +1

They have a very good microphone for calls (after firmware upgrade), better than any budget headphones I heard. This was the biggest sale point for me.

  • +1

If you wait 1 day and 15 hours you can get it for AU $97.15 at aliexpress as there will be a sale, save a couple of bucks and dont need pirme

    • +3

And also wait……..For a few dollars more, I will get it from Amazon.

      • Agree, I rather spend the extra few dollars to buy from Amazon. Faster delivery and less hassle with warranty issue, compared to AliExpress.

      • if you have prime go ahead, not everyone does though

        • Correct, this deal is only targeted at Prime members.

        • +1

Still worth paying a month of Prime over AliExpress imo.

    • You won't have a real useable warranty though buying from Aliexpress. My sony headphones just died after 1 1/2 years which I bought from Amazon, sent them back, instant refund. which is why i'm looking for new headphones,

  • +1

I've had these headphones for about a year. Great sound, mic is excellent, and features like through sound all work well, but build design is poor. There's thin plastic bits on the head band that cracked and fell off within a couple of months of use. I still use them but sticky tape fix, so they're not as much a show piece. I'd buy Anker Life again but would research for reviews on build and design quality.

  • Late for the party :(

    • still active, you need prime

      • Thanks, wasn't aware and I didn't actually log into my amazon account. Ordered one :)

  • How’s the mic on these? Looking to use it for teams meeting and calls.

    • Microphone quality (after firmware update) was the main reason I bought them a few months ago - it's really good and on par with Sony XM4, see comparison here: https://youtu.be/Dqc7b3W4yoI
I'm doing lots of calls and meetings in them :-)

      • Thanks mate! Bought one. Is it easy to update the firmware?

        • +1

Yes, just install Soundcore app for your phone and connect the headphones.
