  • More Rapid transfer uhm what.
I think the M4's from Amazon are a much better deal & better performance too.

    • M4 from Amazon hasn't been cheaper than $179, making it $50 more expensive. Whether it's worth the extra $50, I'm not sure. Only thing that has been close performance/price wise is the $149 Kingston HyperX

      • Mate you better check the prices on amazon again…179?? Try 125 bucks, although they don't ship to Aus atm

        • My mistake, I was going by old/outdated OzB posts. $125 is a great deal for the M4, but if you have to use a shipping forwarded, it kind of ruins the deal.

  • I heard they wont ship the 120gb from Amazon or its crazy expensive so this could be a consideration.

    • They still ship the 256gb m4 from amazon at $240 plus delivery which is helluva lot cheaper than this one
Edit: damn the price went back up to 251… Swear half hour ago they had them for 240.. Oh well still better deal

      • Amazon are still selling the Crucial 256GB for $248.99 however Amazon is no longer the seller that first shows when you click on the Amazon product link it is Beach Camera instead which are dearer and also charge much more for international postage (IIRC).

Just click on the link that shows "43 new from $248.99" just below the price on the Amazon page - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W2JL2A/ref=olp_product_… - and it will list all the different sellers with Amazon being at the top of the page and you can just purchase that way.

  • Deals are getting progressively better. However, I will be holding off for now. Although the prices are creeping into my neck of the woods, I see no reason at the moment for me to upgrade my system.
Perhaps a buying spree is in order once the Ivy Bridge ultrabooks hit the shelves.

    • Digitimes is reporting that large SSD firms such as Kingston, OCZ, Crucial, and Intel are attempting to narrow the market and squeeze out the competition…Digitimes claims that this effort by these companies is not only to help them command the market, but also improve it by removing retailers who use inferior SSD technology.

Hmm, whilst I'm all for cheaper, better stuff; but afraid I'm not a fan of monopolies or oligopolies…it doesn't end well for independent innovators, and thus ultimately not always for the consumer either! :s

we confirmed that the SMP35 was around 50% slower than the Intel 520 on average. For example, AS SSD sequential reads read 201.4MB/s on the SMP35, while over in the Intel camp, numbers of 502.4MB/s were achieved. Every single result was anywhere from 30-65% slower, leaving us with the opinion the SMP35 is not worth owning unless found in the <$100 bargain bin at your local PC store.

      Ouch!

After taking account into delivery, the price is 144.95. For $10 dollars more you can get an Intel 330 SSD

This isn't a bargain IMO, price is dropping for other more reliable brands as well.

      • I had a quick scout around for other reviews on these, almost everyone is simply quoting the atomicmpc review…it's scary! I could only find one alternate review, which was pretty rudimentary…but talk about being the polar opposite from an outcome perspective.

Not to imply meetspin or atomicmpc are necessarily wrong, but looking at it in the context of the aforementioned findings, the following review is giving me a major WTF moment??? :o

Anybody else got an idea what's going on, is tbreak cash for comment or something?
