2SAN COVID Rapid Antigen Test 5 Pack $25 + Delivery @ Healthy Life

I am not sure if people still buy RATs, but these seems cheap. The Flowflex is a tad cheaper, but it's quite a lot.

It's free shipping when you join healthylife for the first order.

Oh how the prices have fallen…

    • +1

they aren't hard to get now. Old people get 5 packs for free every month.

      • Not even old people, if you qualify for a health care card from the fed gov it’s free too

    • +1

What about hand sanitiser? People are giving them away now presumably because the inventory is taking up valuable space.

    • +1

In Hong Kong the price has dropped to 20 test for HK$200 which works out to be ~AU$1.7 per test….

      • +1

Wow send the link so we can buy

  • -8

yawn - are these still a thing
Schools hand them out like lollies and you can get for free from any PCR site

      • +3

Do you also have a garage full of toilet paper and pasta?

      • +2

        'literally'

      • You might literally need them one day when you are literally dying. COVID is so totes not my vibe homie đź™…

    • +3

Yeh I walked past one of those vaccination clinics yesterday and got two boxes free. Have not paid for a single test kit.

    • +3

      Not in WA, they don't.

    • +1

The ones they hand out seem to be so inaccurate, pointless using them since you need to do a PCR test to be sure

      • +3

These 2san ones are one of the highest rated in quality

        • True this. TGA website has them at the highest category of sensitivity

        • +1

Yes, I’ve used this before and I’m very happy with it. I had a faint positive when tested from it while other brands were negative.

    • +8

Remind me again why the government couldn't provide these for free at the beginning of opening up/omicron

      • +26

        Take your pick:

        • Lack of planning
        • Incompetence
        • faith in the private market
        • not undercutting the private market
        • Benefiting donors
        • +8

How about all of the above?

        • +3

          How about:-

          Ignorance
Save money for their own holidays
Underestimated blow up on cases after restrictions eased
Totally misjudgement and management of the whole pandemic
Disliking face masks, relying on PCR tests
Forcing people back to CBD on returning to work
Completely ignoring health care experts/advice and no real plans to tackle return to school

Hence to this date we still got the cases rising and will peak at Easter

          Thanks mate!

RAT kits do not solve the problem and they did not plan to use them at all

        • +2

          faith in the private market

Now hold on - wouldn't the current (low) price be the best proof that the free market simply works?!?

          • @duchy: True. But it was the complacency and the panic that preceded this that was just amateur by the government

          • +4

@duchy: Sure. But the market wasn’t working when supply was so restricted.

You can’t have faith in a market when supply outstrips demand.

            That faith is misplaced.

          • -1

@duchy: $25 is not that low, if you have a family of five it's $200 a week almost

            • @Tleyx: Why would you test every day.

              • @Geoff01: So you can know.if you have it early

      • -2

        Fiscal responsibility….
(Why should I, taxpayer, be buying other peoples RATs? Especially for those choosing not taking the vaccines we’re paying for)

        • +3

Remember how you live in a society? Increasing testing helps to protect the vulnerable, prevents spread, increases consumer confidence and keeps employees at work rather than on sick leave. It's also significantly cheaper than PCR testing.

          • +2

@ihfree: And also saves the taxpayer a shitload in hospital bills (and lost income due to hundreds or even thousands of people being dead unnecessarily)

Plus more people able to work due to not being sick. And less close contacts.

And a general empathy towards our own communities. What's the point in having a healthy economy if you can't even keep your people healthy.

        • Ah yes, the fiscal responsibility of saving a few dollars on a paper diagnostic tool that prevents wide scale infections leading to workforce shortages, ICU stays, state shutdowns… mmmyes very fiscal and responsible.

        • +1

Also why should I the taxpayer subsidise Jobkeeper when companies made a profit during lockdown, claimed Job Keeper and the government is letting them keep it without oversight.. cough Hardly normal. Now the government refused to purchase RATs and left it to the states.

      • +5

Because they blew all their budget on making big companies richer hoping the rich will re-elect them as they know no one else will

  • +7

I'm still buying them for myself and staff at work

    • +1

Try striking up a deal with supasaiyan.

    • I have too many, can’t even sell it lol

  • -5

    Cheap but …. minimal accuracy?

    • +15

This one is good, very high sensitivity

    • +4

We were happy with ours. Tested positive when we had it.

  • +4

    Tax deductible?

  • Soon they will be on clearance for $2 and the distributors will still be making profits. Imagine how much Chemists are making profit wise in their 'deal' to provide free to Seniors & Concession Card holders, the joke is on taxpayers.

    • +23

I know a couple of pharmacists who are not making very much at all from this deal, if anything. They are very much doing it as a service to the community, for what it's worth

      • -5

Service to the community?. They're doing it because they make some, and their customers being oldies will have scripts to fill. And maybe sell them some high margin supplements aka wee yellower.

    • +2

How many kids do you have?

      • +18

He just told you, the dog and the guinea pig.

      • +1

He's got 10 kids. Living the dream from Centrelink.

      • Maybe he means small goats

      • More importantly, how did jv get someone to procreate with him?!

    • You should get another guinea pig

    • you should be in the penalty box

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sOdMqbX-PY

    • Or hamster

  • +72

Oh god the whinging selfishness of some people. It's not f#@king over! People are dying. Ive just tested positive and am sick as a dog in bed. 7 days lost. Just because some selfish freedom loving bogan didn't want to take a RAT and stay home when sick.

    • +14

It's a shame those idiots aren't the ones being knocked over with covid.

      • +4

whats wrong with you ppl, it is a honest question, i just got booster

        • +3

If you want science, go to a scientific study. This question is similar to asking a sexual assult victim what they were wearing.

          • +1

@SCL: Its dumb. He has got covid, not got raped, wtf

    • +10

Agree with this post. It's 19 days since I tested positive for covid (because someone's kid gave it to my kid at daycare) and my health is still suffering. I was a fit cyclist before the illness and now my heart rate goes too high when I cycle and my ability to breathe is still reduced. It's not the flu and it's not a cold and it's not to be taken lightly. Keep some RATs around.

    • +12

I think the lower threshold to hold them to is not even wearing a mask when you're sick. See so many people on train who are visibly not well without a mask. Doesn't matter if it's Covid or something else, it's still communicable, just wear the f*n mask if you don't want to stay home, it's not a high bar…

    • +1

      :-(
      Wishing you a speedy recovery

  • +22

I’m concerned about how high our cases are. I am more than happy to do a short sharp full lockdown.

    STAY AT HOME SAVE LIVES

    • +8

What about our freedom though!? /s

edit: in all seriousness I think the NSW premier is too prideful to go back on his word of no more lockdowns

      • +6

He has 7 kids, he’s too scared of his wife and of being stuck in the house with 7 kids to ever institute a lockdown.

      • He’s got 7 kids and his wife doesnt want to have to deal with all 7 at home so there will never be another lockdown again

    • +6

I just like the stay-at-home part

  • +3

The flu season is fast approaching and we are expecting high hospitalisation and deaths this year

      • +2

        no

          • +8

@tharlow: Buddy, if that's the conclusion you reach after whatever mental gymnastics you did or didn't do, then good for you! I'm glad you don't have to think

      • +7

FYI there are flu rapid antigen tests, have been for a couple decades. They are used in some high risk situations: https://www.nps.org.au/australian-prescriber/articles/rapid-…

Prompt detection of influenza is important not only for the individual, who may benefit from early commencement of antiviral drugs, but also for the community (including 'closed' environments such as households, nursing homes, schools and military facilities) by reducing transmission of the virus.

        • Excellent info!

    • Good chance to get flu boosters if people haven't yet

      • Isn't it too early in the year, or because we're coming from zero flu in the community post-lockdown has that changed compared to previous years?

        • +1

Well good point, I suppose the optimal time might be in a month, but if people didn't have flu boosters last year, they're probably just as good getting it now vs in a month.

  • These will just become cheaper and cheaper. Then the gov will drop all restrictions and close contact rules so they can all expire and go into landfill.

    • -2

Then the gov will drop all restrictions and close contact rules

      Which gov?

      • Probably the one you didn’t vote for. But don’t worry, soon enough there will be another great choice between two familiar options…

        • -2

But don’t worry, soon enough there will be another great choice between two familiar options

          Is Dan going?

          • +2

            @jv: He is going… strong

            • @ihfree: So he's not going to drop restrictions?

          • @jv: I’m sure Dan (short for Dangerous?) has a great future as a private-sector lobbyist, but until then he has a lot of work to do. From home, probably…

        • Ignoring other parties is the reason for the duopoly

      • +1

        Commonwealth?

        <bah-dum…tish>

        • With emphasis on the dum… possibly.

myGov (my dot gov dot au)

        • +1

          Commonwealth?

Pretty much all the restrictions and rules are under state legislation.
Federal government has very little powers in these areas due to our constitution…

          <bah-dum…tish>

          • +1

@jv: Danned if you do, and danned if you don’t

  • +1

Some Pricelines have COVID kits that are made in South Korea, not China which all are. However, it's tricky finding which Pricelines those are.

  • +2

I can confirm that these RAT are very sensitive.
    Worth buying.

    • -6

      Congratulations on replacing the TGA!

  • +1

Thanks OP - for your information, these have been some of the ones handed out at schools here in Victoria.

    • +12

sheeple are the ones not getting tested…

      • but at least they have their freedom !!
