I got lucky to get it at $930+. Im not sure if the prices would drop more, but I just really needed a GPU after sitting on an empty enclosure for months..
50bux + or - does not matter much when you badly need one.
Just make sure they delivered it properly… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689873
This isn't really a issue with the seller, it's shitty Auspost. Since COVID numbers picked up, Auspost has changed it's signature policy and drivers just randomly pick and choose if a signature required item can be left. It is pretty shit depending on where you live. It happens to me all the time but my doorway is obscured from the road so it's not a issue for me.
Yeah, just pointing out just be aware, but it would help if you have CCTV/ IP Camera installed, this will give you a bit more assurance.
Need 3080 12Gb at $1300
nooo, HODL, you can do it - Sub $1k
come on… bring it down
Is this a premium tier card or more of mid range?
Between 3070 and 3080.. So it's towards the upper end, only thing to be wary of is the 8gig vram, this is fine now but in future you may need to dial down the quality to avoid drop in performance…
thanks, actually I am more tend to know is this particular card a premium or mid tier among all 3070s. (i.e. build quality, materials, if has run hot issues etc)
mid tier… top tier for gigabyte is the aorus range
@da1nonly: Do you know of a website to compare the different 3070s, from all the brands?
@ayaka: hardware unboxed on YouTube has these comparisons :)
@ayaka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_VC_00wcMU
3080 55 cards compared :)
It's a 3070 with 3080 GDDR6X Memory and juiced up core config, but still has the same 256bit bus width as the 3070.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_30_series
look at the 3070ti and the 3070 above and 3080 below and see where it sits. I don't know what those numbers mean. But should be able to work out where it sits between them.Gaming OC has decent, I have one and it's great. Keen to test out the vision as it has an aluminium shroud rather than plastic.
Afterpay before now ebay Plus, seems GPU discount deals will become a regular thing now
No they wont become regular deals, it is a coincidence that they were dropped by 25%.
These sales rarely happen.
Might consider at $500!
I think US RRP was 600, so might be waiting until the 4000 series is out for those prices.
you might get those prices in mid 2023 after the crypto crash, we should see some of the best ever deals in GPUs
though in the short term GPU prices should start increasing soon, crypto prices are recovering and that will continue for a while taking GPU prices to new records
After the crypto crash? You understand inflation right?
After the crypto crash? You understand inflation right?
Yeah, do you? I'd love to hear how you think inflation will prevent crypto from crashing.
Hopefully Bitcoin dies this year finally and high end Video cards crash to $499.
bitcoin wont die for decades
but there will be a crypto crash, early to mid 2023 - cheapest GPUs for a couple of years after that, would be the right time to buy next gen then, at the tail end of this year they wont be available
crypto prices are recovering now from the recent correction that hurt mining profitability and bought us this window of relatively cheap GPUs, but that will only last while prices in crypto remain low which probably only have a couple of weeks until reflecting on GPU prices
Bitcoin wont die, but the mining will.
bitcoin will eventually die
it's tech is already replaced, markets will continue to move across to more useful currencies, take the diminishing market share every cycle as evidence of this natural process
eventually it will be worth very little, that's just how the free market works - of course this is based on the assumption that bitcoin doesn't evolve which certainly appears to be a fair assessment at this point in time
@desync: Greek dollar will take over, fact.
@[Deactivated]: maybe if the greek dollar is built on cardano
@desync: Greeks invented everything, citizenship, sodomy, air, water, all that jazz
Bitcoin wont die, but the mining will.
You realise that without mining there in no Bitcoin? This is precisely why Bitcoin will eventually die. So many crytpo bros who don't understand the fundamentals yet buy in anyway because profit!
@1st-Amendment: We are talking about mining farms where an impact of GPU sales are moved on to them, most mining for transactions will be done by the layman, not some get rich kid with 30 GPUs in his mum's basement.
deregulated digital currency isn't going anywhere.
in 10 years you'll be kicking yourself you didn't buy now and HODL forever.
Ponzi scam.
or wealth transfer ;)
bitcoin was the invention of digital scarcity and with it money evolved
bitcoin was the invention of digital scarcity and with it money evolved
So a ponzi scheme then…
you know you cant mine bitcoin with GPU's right?
Gonna wait and see what can be bought for 700 by mid year.
Must HODL on for a little bit more………(nervous twitching starts up)
wait for mid year.. it will below msrp
Wait for the release of the 4080 and 4070 in Q3/4 of this year.
eth2.0 is coming.. by that time all miner will dump their gpu
Will be more like December. And then hard to get til I imagine march, as usual.
Yeah, but it'll still depress the price of the 30 series if that's your goal.
Purchased. Need a new one to play Elden Ring after my gtx1080 died. I couldn't wait any longer. Nice tip thanks
I'm itching, I just wanna see it below 900 and I may cop!
Playing on 1060 3gb Elden ring sux!!
Similar price to Afterpay deals last week, good find.
