Just noticed this on the front page of Destructoid.com. They are giving away 10,000 codes for a free Spinfusor for the soldier class (normally costing 240 gold or 42,000XP) in the excellent F2P FPS Tribes: Ascend.

  1. If you don't have an account with Destructoid already, you have to make one (but you don't have to use a real email as it is not validated and the unlock code is given to you in your browser).
  2. Once you have logged into your account, clicking on the "Get my beta code!" button will give you a unique code.
  3. Open up Tribes: Ascend.
  4. At the main menu click on "Extras", then click "Redeem promotion" and enter the code.

Note: I was not able to copy and paste the code directly into the game so I had to rather annoyingly ALT-TAB back and forth to enter it. Also - this code has been up on their front page for a couple of days it seems, so I don't know how many are left.

    why should i have to pay for the spinfusor? I remember the days in Tribes 1 when the spinfusor was standard issue!

      Yeah, and Tribes 1 wasn't free to play at launch.
