Free snacks! They sell protein bars, snack bars, bites and the like.
According to my mate when he did his purchase, if the total value is $20 or under, shipping is free. Deal expires at 4 pm, so make the most of it!

Yeah, I feel the site may just get OzBargained lol.
Wasn't getting free shipping
You should be able to if your purchase is $20 or less, according to my friend who also had that problem initially.
Yeah it worked for me
Gotta change the default express option.
Don't do that..
Only 2?
This is why we cant have nice things.
Good find sir!
Cheers! Enjoy.
Free shipping not working, under or over $20
Gotta change the default express option.
Got it
Would've like to pay a bit as with free orders chance of cancellation is high.
Are we stealing from a little company? Or should I not feel guilty?
I think it's a small company … I will ask to cancel my order.
That's one way to look at it.
Another way to look at it is - this is a great way to drum up awareness of the company and product, without hiring people to stand outside train stations and hand out samples.
Had you heard of Blue Dinosaur before today? And even if you had, would you have given their products a try?
not everything in life is a conspiracy
@Sittingonthemoon: not sure what your point is. did you mean to reply to me?
I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised if they offered these freebies intentionally, as a form of marketing. At the very least it means a LOT of people will try out their product.
edit: store rep says below it was an error. BUT it could be a blessing in disguise, if the product is good and they get repeat customers out of this. They've already got a heap of well-deserved goodwill from the positive post below.
Most likely all orders are going to get cancelled and a discount voucher will be given.
Yeah. I will be back to this post in a week to complain. :P
Ha ha a true Ozbargainer.
bought 5 banana bread bars, tip is when your about to pay click shipping again as after your code gets put in you can charge to free shipping
Giving it a go, honestly didn’t know about these guys but willing to give them a try. Seems like the bars have very little processed ingredients compared to other mass manufactured bars out there.
Keen to try so chose 4 different flavours. Who knows if its good i might be back.
I have been in the market for new protein bars so looking forward to trying these.
No free shipping .. even after re-clicking shipping after entering code as mentioned above? what am i doign wrong…. :S
Its a shipping option. Free shipping. Standard shipping and express.
You need to purchase less that $20 though.
SNACKYEAH discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart
:(
Whoops party is over.
OH man … expired? Went back to adjust a few things and now it says code is not available for items in my cart
NOO I was too late :(
Nice. Let’s see if it’s getting honoured!
Just to inform:
"We have set the discount code to boxes of 12 - so it's only applicable to that if you have a box of 12 in your overall order." (msg from the chat of the website)
No cancellation email for my 4 pieces. So theres hope. If i dont receive. Water under the bridge.
yes… I just posted as the code is still working. But now it's only for boxes of 12.
Probably someone set the code rules wrong at the beginning
Very likely. Or the intern did it. 😂
Think of the small business 😮😮😮
Hello Bargain (and snack bar) hunters! Well that was quite a stampede, over 1200 orders in an hour (yikes). We are a small biz as some of you have commented, but we are also aware that this was an error on our part (honest and expensive) so we feel morally obliged as a company to fulfil your orders. With such crazy volume & two 3PL staff, please be patient with receiving your bars, and we hope you love the products so much that you will be back for more at slightly less of a discount. Thanks, Jarrad from the Blue Dinosaur Team. *the code is still available until Friday as stated in the email (you may not have received), for orders of Boxes only.
Respect for that. I hope many people will be coming back. I promise that the vast majority of people will completely understand if you feel the need to cancel the orders, but if you choose not to, then that is very generous. Thanks again mate.
Wow, props for not canceling.
Is it difficult for you to provide somewhere we could pay for postage for our order should we choose to? Like a PayPal account?
Please post a more affordable (for you) deal in future sometime… I’m actually in the market for food I can safely eat :)
You really shouldn't feel obligated. OzBargainers are vultures.
Wow that's awesome! At the very least, I think you should probably delete duplicate orders made by the greedy by checking the name/address/payment method to minimise your losses.
I totally agree.
Off topic and Ozbargainers will jump on this comment if I'm wrong…
In the "Our story" section, is that the correct pray/prey in the sentence "We never prayed on people’s fears…"?
Respect.
I would also understand if you cancelled my order
Can you please confirm which boxes. I've tried adding the mixed boxes and custard box and it says the code is not available.
boxes with 12 (just one flavour)
For people debating whether or not they're a small company. Some things to take into account…
Looking at their stockists https://bluedinosaur.com.au/pages/store-locator, they seem to be all over the world and have 1482 in Australia alone.
They're big enough to pay bakeries to manufacture their products (https://bluedinosaur.com.au/pages/faqs), so the video at the beginning is slightly misleading as to how their products are made now. No hand baking by the couple.
Here's the big one. The family business was bought out by Forbidden Foods for $4 million in 2021 (https://www.foodanddrinkbusiness.com.au/news/forbidden-foods-acquires-blue-dinosaur-for-4m#:~:text=Forbidden%20Foods%20has%20forecast%20its,to%20strengthen%20global%20market%20distribution.. Forbidden Foods is a company listed on the ASX (https://www2.asx.com.au/markets/company/fff)
Not saying it's a huge company, but the idea that this is a still a small family run business is not true.
Just received my 2 boxes of 12 bars.. had a few bites of the peanut butter one and all I can say is.. yuck.. it has a very plasticy, burnt and bitter taste to it.. very unpleasant. I also have a salted caramel box I'm yet to try, but if this is any indication of how "tasty" they are… I think I made a mistake in buying 2 boxes.
Literally just took a bite out of my Coffee flavoured one and thought I was being poisoned! It's inedible (have binned it) and what I did eat kinda stung my mouth/throat - absolutely horrible.
Jumped on Ozbargain to see if anyone else was thinking the same….thankfully I didn't pay for this junk.
Did we all get Punk'd with some sort of dodgy free bars?
Same. I ordered 4 of the cookie dough flavor. Not only was there no cookie dough flavor, it tasted horrible. And the texture too, it clung to your teeth and had the worst after taste.
Good on them for sending out the orders, unfortunately it'll be reverse marketing for them. I'll never buy them and tell my friends and family to save their money.
I unfortunately spent money on my bars.. so I'm going to need to use them somehow, even if it's mixing with my protein shakes or making some chocolate bars.
Most of these "raw plant based" bars are usually made of the same 3 things - coconut, dates, cashews - and usually taste pretty much the same. Some do better jobs than others - like those bliss balls you can get from woolies - with extra things like cranberries and cacao and whatnot, but part of their secret is also that they are smaller serves so less likely to become boring quickly.
A while ago I was wowed by the "cheesecake base" name in one of these bars and caved - well it was nothing like cheesecake base, just like coconut, dates, and cashews again.
I tried to post a negative review on their website - it didn't post of course (they only have fake looking 5 star reviews) but I did get an email citing inconsistency with the egg whites and some 'funky' batches hmmmm. They are offering me another free box - despite me stating I didn't pay for the first one. I think I might decline….
They replaced my peanut butter box (which I paid for) stating that it shouldn’t taste like that but low and behold still tastes revolting. I’m trying to ask for my money back.
@itsmehuey: So after emailing them, and providing screenshots of all the negative feedback regarding the taste/texture of the bars, they have provided me a refund for the 2x boxes I purchased. they mentioned that "some people" don't like the taste and texture because of the high protein content, but there was not just "some people", there where HEAPS of people complaining about how bad the bars tasted… And I've had plenty of high protein bars and none of them tasted remotely this bad. It's also funny that none of the bad reviews make it to their website. At least they were fine with refunding me.. but man, never again.
I just thought it’s just me but obviously they are really really bad. I tried the peanut butter one, it had a burnt taste and was totally dry! I shared it with my wife and she confirmed same. Luckily I didn’t pay any money. I tried another chocolate protein bar and it was a bit better but very chewy and extreme sweet for my taste.
Looks like the 4 i ordered are on their way. Eta april 6.
Based on people's reactions so far, this hasn't been so much an exercise in marketing, but rather free market research.
I will be sure to post about mine when i get it next week.
I wonder if they did it by purpose giving us these for free. We are the dummies!
Are we beta testing their product for taste and adverse reactions?
(i'm joking, nobody sue me please)
Just received AusPost tracking from Forbidden Foods (Blue Dinosaur parent company)
Tried cookie dough flavour protein bar. Came in a nicely packaged box.
Then I tasted it.
Gosh. Too many egg whites maybe, inedible. My sister agreed. Even my dog that eats anything didn’t want a bite.
Yipes. I ordered one of those.
Sadly true. It's such a shame because they seem like a decent company. If they renamed some of the products it wouldn't be so bad. E.g. instead of 'cookie dough' maybe 'omelette biscuit' or something.
I ordered the banana bread bar, it’s was quite good. I stayed away from protein bar as I’m not fan of some of the ingredients but banana bar has ingredients I like(keto friendly & organic friendly). I will buy some again even if that includes currency transfer.
lol mystery snack pack
Just recieved mine. The brownie bites were soo delicious, taste like they were just freshly made. Energy bars also taste fantastic. Paleo snack bars: hit and miss, some tasted chemically, the banana bread bar was great. I'm going to have to stock up on those brownie bites though…
Haven't tried the cookie dough ones yet, but had a lamington bar and it was pretty decent. Definitely wasn't inedible, quite coconutty.
Would I pay $4.50 for it? No. Would I buy it for a $1 or less? Maybe, yeah, it wasn't terrible by any means.
Tried the Blueberry bar today - tasted nothing like blueberries.
Tasted nothing like anything really, it was a weird taste with a tinge of sour.
Not really unpleasant, but it did get me wondering if this was what they'd approved for mass manufacture, or if something has gone awry during production.
After the last couple days, i've been opening each bar 1 at a time(got a free multi flavour pack) and slicing them into smaller bits for colleagues in the office. We look at this like a challenge who doesnt give up first and its like a trolling hazing ritual, its pretty hilarious giving unsuspecting colleagues a bite and watching their faces. I would purchase these as a troll food for people.
lol everything is free under $20!
