  • $412.62 for me

    • wrong URL. just fixed it

    • me too

  • increased to $150.95 now lol Be quick!

  • Couple of comments mention it doesn't come with a battery… actually that's in the description too, hah

  • Skin only.Fyi

  • 20V ???? my dewalt battery is 18 V, they have a different multitoo,. for $207 that is 18v .

    • I use a 20V tool with an 18V battery. Works fine. I believe there is no actual difference.

      • 20V = 18V
        60V = 54V

        Same thing.

      • +2

The battery is nominal 18v, and its max is 20v

In AU dewalt go by nominal, not the max. In other countries they pimp their warez using max.

        So same same but different

    • 20V is just a marketing gimmick in US. AU model is marketed as 18V.
These will happily run on 18V batteries

      • thks you are right ….. 20V no load, 18V loaded voltages ……grabbed one, 2nd dewalt skin I will own to supplement the ozito and bosch ….now for a cordless router killer deal.

  • These things are freaking awesome.

Bunnings currently selling for like $220 if so inclined.

    • What are their best uses?
I bought a corded Makita that was on display at bunnings for $20 and haven't used it.
Also got a 18v AEG one for $60 as well.
With the AEG I also got the right angle drill head for $7.50 and reciprocating saw head for $20 to go with it.
So I'm all set to go. Just haven't used them. So curious what others use them for.

Personally, detail sanding where it’s hard to fit a sander, and plunge cuts.

Also cut out a bunch of plaster sheeting in a neat and orderly fashion just like that.

      • plunge cuts (drywall, skirting boards, door/window trims, cut small timber (eg. I used it last weekend to cut the bottom of my picket fence palings as they were too long and were touching the soil), cut grout out from tiles, scrape off sealants/glue, cut nails, cut small metal objects, detail sanding.

Probably a lot more other applications that I can't think of at the moment.

Find me a deal on a recip saw that I’m only going to use once but enjoy the concept of.

    • +2

I just bought their DCS367 and its great. Just walked around my yard wrecking things for a solid half hour.

      • I was eyeing that one off.

        Much difference between the 380?

      • Oh man. I picked one up earlier today and completely wrecked a bunch of galv pipe like it was nothing.

        Freaking awesome.

    • Are you me? We should hang out.

  • +1

    Nice one, I'm sold.
Needed something that can conveniently sand in corners, and I already have some Dewalt batteries. Seems like the perfect tool for me.

  • 207.50 from Bunnings lot if you want a warranty

    • Odd how the PowerPass price is $312.55

      • Not when I looked. 207.50 both power pass and non. Matching Amazon au price I'd say. Look for DCS356

        • Ah, it was $312.55 at an out of stock store at Bunnings, odd. I'm going to try and get a sneaky price match from Amazon at Bunnings. Maybe they'll only look at the site URL, skip the 20v bit just generally have bad eyesight. Wish me luck!

          • @OldBugger: Model numbers are the go.

          • @OldBugger: I don't like your chance. When I bought mine, I tried to price match against AU spec model on Amazon ($207.50) and still had to jump through hoops. AU model has N-XJ suffix
This listing has a different model number so you won't get past them unless you get lucky and talk to someone who just doesn't care.

            • @dji1111111: I tried to price match Makita SDS drill at Bunnings from Amazon exact model number (fulfilled by Amazon UK), and lady refused as it was special order and Bunnings don't have in stock..

          • @OldBugger: Did you manage to get price match at Bunnings?

            • @huntabargain: Nah. I didn't like my chances but more to the point, the Amazon US price would have still been almost 40 bucks cheaper so I went with that and forgo the warranty. Although, I hold Amazon customer service pretty high.

              • @OldBugger: I am tempted to buy it from Amazon too, it's $60 cheaper than Bunnings $207 vs $147. Its much better than the Makita Multitool as well. Bunnings price beat for me the Makita rotary hammer from Amazon, but that was exact code number.

  • +2

Personally, i'd add the extra few bucks, buy the Aussie version from Bunnings or Sydney tools etc…. and get the extra warrenty that is offered. This is a good deal however. Since it is trade quality, not a toy model like other brands. (from experience as 99% of my tools are Dewalt through trial & error using other brands. It karks it, send it back for a new one for over 3years+). Saving a few bucks and buying another… nah

    • And to get the 3yr don't forget to register or you'll only get 1yr!

      • +1

The ACCC has already declared that a customer didn't have to do anything to get free extended warranties in Australia. Registration is not a legal requirement.

        • I tried searching it up but couldn't find this on their site under "Warranties". Could you please direct me to where you found this out?

  • bought the makita tools in the weekend from bunnings… now as a makita user, have to wait for a deal for the multitool of makita :(

    • I have not seen much discounts on the Makita multitool V18, every time I look it is $229 comes with some blades/sanders and it is brushed, unlike this DeWalt which is brushless. I am also looking for a Makita multitool.

    • -1

I find the Makita is nicer to use compared to the Dewalt

  • I've got one. Can vouch that these are excellent for home repairs.

  • Would one of these cut through some gal?
I have to cut a bit of guttering but my angle grinder is a bit too small.

  • Got the Ryobi last week, and the depth gauge design is so bad it basically releases if any pressure is applied. Caused damage for much more than the multitool is worth.

Hoping this one is better (but depth guide needs to be purchased separately.

    • Depth gauge on a multi tool?
      Dewalt doesn't have one.

      • They’ve got that adjustable bolt thing if you feel like paying.

Else some blades have a ruler printed on them that will wear right off if you’re cutting anything harder than pine.

  • What blades do yous use? i've been using Bosch for decent sized jobs and they seem to be one time use. Expensive for a $15 blade.

    • +1

      I just received this
      https://www.amazon.com.au/Oscillating-LEILUO-Multitool-Rockw…

reviews seem ok and I thought it's worth a try given how expensive the blades from major brands are.
Even if they have shorter lifespan, I think I will ok with that given the price difference.

Also, if you have a metal file, you can actually resharpen the blades. Check out youtube videos for how to do it. It's pretty quick and easy.

      • Cheers mate, i've found the multiuse/metal blades from bosch chip easily with nails

        • The included dewalt bimetal blade wasnt that great either. After I cut 3 screws (one of them was much harder steel) it became dull. It didn't chip so I could probably resharpen it. I think they are mainly designed for soft metal

The wood blade has been pretty good and still going strong

  • I need DeWalt batteries since I killed one recently. Rarely see deals on those.

    • +2

Usually best to wait for a good deal on a kit then sell off the bits you don't need. Battery on their own is horrendously overpriced.

  • $147.17 now
