      Had them a couple of nights ago. Tasty, but the flavour wasn’t close to strong enough for it to give me true ‘butter chicken’ vibes. If the flavour wasn’t on the box I wouldn’t have been able to narrow it down (although that could be because I was eating Golden Wok dumplings at the same time, which have much more flavour).

    anyone thinks the prawn hargow and the sauce taste different nowadays compared to…say a year ago?

      They have definitely changed the formula. At one point it used to be a thick soy sauce. Now it's a lot thinner like regular soy sauce.

    Haven't seen Maxibon on special in a while. A quick on OzB shows the last time it was on special was at Coles back in 2020.

        This is the problem with deals where a billion things are posted all at once, basically listing out the entire catalog. Very easy for stuff to go unnoticed.

      From my experience MC has the best prawn varieties. You actually get large chunks of prawn rather than some pulverized filling. Happy if someone can recommend a better Har Gow or the Prawn/Ginger variety.
      PS: I don't care about the sauce as I make mine anyway. Theirs is typically some sweet soy which I'm not a huge fan of.

        KB's prawn hargow is good, in my opnion, better than MC's.

        Can’t make up my mind on whether KB or MC hargow are better. KB prawn is a bit chunkier while MC has a thinner wrap. I usually get KB since it goes on sale with KB Gyoza and typically works out to be cheaper.
        In terms of variety, KB only does good prawn while MC is pretty consistent across their dim sum range.

        Different. Confirmed with the company, the ones I am talking about were discontinued.
