[Switch] Tricky Towers - $9 (Was $22.50) Nintendo eStore

140

From the website:
“With your brilliant robe and magic powers,
it’s time to build some Tricky Towers!

Stack your bricks in this land of fable,
whose marvelous tower will be the most stable?

Cast magic to support your construction,
and fend off dark spells to avoid destruction.

Battle your friends and rise to fame,
in this frantic physics party game.”

For those who haven’t played, this is a pretty fun family / friendly battle game. Sort of like Tetris, but the pieces can be unstable and you can make it harder for other players to build by casting spells.

  • Looks like a fun game. Anyone else who has played this who can comment on the replayability aspect?

Great fun to play with friends on the couch/online, but not much singleplayer content and the online open lobbies are often quite empty.

If you have friends I'd recommend. It certainly gets that competitive couch shouting vibe happening.

If you have friends I'd recommend

        I'm out.

      • Can vouch for that comment. Good couch co-op fun.

      • Yep, great single screen multiplayer fun.
Bit of a spin on the old Tetris/Block builder but with fun elements thrown in.
4 players all battling out on one screen creates a lot of laughs.
        Little bit limited otherwise.

    • I've played in on PC, not Switch, but I love it. There's about 50 single player puzzles which you should be able to knock out in a few hours, but the multiplayer is great fun.

  • This game is very similar to Tower of Babel - no mercy which is also currently on sale at $2.99 ($14.99).

Please do not get confused with Tower of Babel which is a totally different game altogether.

I highly recommend Tower of Babel - no mercy. This game is not as difficult compared to Tricky Towers and it is more suitable for younger kids. But that does not mean adults will find it boring. You cannot go wrong for just $2.99.

    • The big selling point of Tricky Towers for my friend group was Puzzle Mode and being able to 'nudge' pieces to make risky plays. That would most definitely be absent in a straight tower stacker.

      • I'm sorry @Ninternet I do have to correct you here.

Please don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Tricky Towers. It is a very good game and I do like it.

Tower of Babel - no mercy is not just a straight tower stacking game. When a player manages to get a perfect block stack you will be awarded a bonus (special) move that you can use to disrupt your opponent when they are trying to stack his/her block. Depending upon the character you choose, could either be an invisible block or a bouncy block or T-block, etc.

        • Yeah, but does it have puzzle mode?

  • That's it!
(loved this game while my wife was expecting)
