Very good price for this cordless hammer drill and impact driver combo kit with 2 x 5.0ah batteries, quick charger and tstak case.
I paid $444 for this at Bunnings a month ago on sale.
Both the drill and the impact driver have been flawless and no regrets.
Quality piece of kit and I highly recommend it.

Pretty sure that li-ion batteries shouldn’t be stored flat, it greatly reduces the life of the battery. This is how you kill your battery packs, no memory just dead.
not stored flat, it’s approx 60% …..problem with power tool chargers is they don’t have a “storage” charge mode, expectation is people use regularly so keep them charged ……. Radio Control models chargers often have a storage mode ( some people store over winter if you live in countries where it snows) ….. storing flat is much worse then storing fully charged ….
My bad. I thought 4a chargers are quick chargers and thought there was a 2a charger. No wonder it didn't seem that quick although it didn't seem too slow either
Decent kit, glad I bought them a while back through a deal here on OzB. It was $299 if not wrong. Use it for home use, good and reliable
Which is the better buy, this or the Makita?https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689467#comment-11897981
This may be a better deal for some from Sydney Tools when you stack with the zip pay 20% cashback.
They are running the Dewalt road show and have this kit for $529 which means you get $100 worth of store credit.
So it would cost $423.20 after Zip pay cashback and then you get $100 store credit.Personally though I'd go for this kit instead

Same skins, comes with 2x4Ah batteries instead of 5 but it comes with a 4a charger instead of the 2a charger, meaning it chargers twice as quick.
The kit is also $409 and comes a $50 store credit. So $327.2 with Zip and plus a $50 store credit.Skins are not the same. The ones you posted have lower power and specs.
The chargers are also the same in both combos.
Hammer drill is the same, didn't realize the impact driver isn't and has slightly lower specs.
Still as I mentioned the $529 kit is the same and can be a better deal for some
https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dck266p2txe-18v-50…Hammer drill is not the same. One is 795 and other is 796
@Diplomats: Lol too many tabs open, I stand corrected.
Appears as $529 for me. No code or sale over?
same with me! Think we're missing something…
At what point does an 18v dewalt hammer drill stop being a dewalt hammer drill?
Like, what distinguishes them?
Hammer function. No hammer function then not a hammer drill.
BUT there are 2 types of hammer drills, rotary hammer drill which have a hammer the hits the back of the drill bit, they also sometimes have a chisel function as don’t need rotation to work ……very fast through brick work and uses and SDS drill attachment …..then there is the impact hammer drill, it has a cam and bounces the drill bit as it rotates and rises and falls off the cam ….much slower into brick work and doesn’t do a chisel function ……. unless you are doing a lot of brick drilling, most people end up with an impact hammer drill in these kits which is ok for the occasional hole into brick or concrete …… i own both in corded (had to do 100 12mm holes into brick) and cordless …. most house reno’s i do are brick, hence i have rotary hammers.
Just a note guys, if Ozito works for you, you don't need this unless you are a tradie and will be made fun of at a job site.
Missed it
Well that didn't last long lol looks like the price has gone back to normal
i’m not a tradie, fun DIY …. i have ozito, makita, dewalt and bosch ….. usually bunnings clearances …….. the ozito brushless are great and for people starting out if on special it’s the go …… some makita entry level stuff is worse then ozito brushless ….. all the big brands makita, dewalt, bosch have various levels of tools in their range …… better good ozito brushless than entry level makita. for tradies it starts to become chargers and batteries and special skins …… the carpenter i saw had 6 batteries charging and multiple chargers, at home you can have a drink while your one or 2 batteries charge on a single charger ….. it’s why i have a few ecosystems ….don’t need lots of batteries across same brand of tools as i’m not in a hurry …… bundles are there so that hopefully you commit to their system ….. some bundles make it cheaper to also get into another ecosystem then buy a skin from an existing one …..

Is this brushless?
Since it hasn't been specified, I'm guessing it's not brushless ?
They are brushless. This kit is better than the cheaper kits going around because it comes with 5.0ah batteries and the impact driver is the higher spec model with speed settings. I find the low speed setting very useful for doing more delicate driving
796 & 887 are both brushless models. Have more torque than the new packs that are out (795 and 787). Both are nearly the same price however.
These are trade quality and can do some serious work without breaking. Remember, if you buy these or any Dewalt skin, pack, bundle, ensure you register their individual serial numbers on the Dewalt website. By doing this, you will get the full extra warrenty. Miss the register window time frame, you'll only het 12months.
I picked up the DCK266P2T-XE COMBO KIT C/LESS B/LESS DEWALT++18V LI 2PCE 2X5.0 for $399.90 from bunnings in November 2021.
It wasn't advertised as a sale?
But when I checked back a couple of weeks later, it was up to around $550?
I'm very happy with the kit.
This is a decent kit if you wanna get into the dewalt economy…. especially since it includes 2 5ah batteries. The charger however is a standard charger. The quick chargers are yellow in colour and sell for a premium when sold on their own. This charger does the job fast enough anyway, taking approx 1 and a bit hours per battery when flat.
Remember, Li-on batteries have no memory so it is ok if they are flat for a long time, unlike the old ones you have to either jump them or have it repacked (by long i don't mean years lol)
Have an up-vote my friend!
