Is an email confirmation required to get the seeds?

    • +2

Not when I signed up 👍

  • +1

    Easy, cheers

    • For best results, simply add water.

  • +9

What kind of seeds are 'native australian seeds' and what do they grow?

    • +2

No idea. Will get them in a 3+ weeks depending on Oz post… hang on make that months…

    • +2

Would be great to know. Or at least know if the seeds are for trees, bushes or groundcover.

    • +3

      T&Cs say they're "trees"

    • -1

You could try putin in the seeds and see if they come up trumps!

  • +1

any suggestions where random trees would be wanted?

    • +6

      Your nature strip

      • +2

        stops people parking cars there
        .

Yeah we had that problem. Wrote to the council to plant a tree there, they wrote back saying will do and in the next tree planting session they had, they put one there. Problem solved. Ended up planting a native grass and flower patch all around it, which seemed to inspire others to do the same in the end. Now it looks great, and zero maintenance. Big poa grass, kangaroo grass, lemon button heads, everlastings, daisies.

      • I'm sure you mean Her Majesty's nature strip?

        • +5

          Yes. Lizzie’s Strip.

      • +2

Just make sure you don't plant the tree under any power lines along the nature strip. Otherwise, they will be trimmed by the power company and will never be allowed to grow to their full potential (understandably for safety reasons).

Nice, I need to replace some Aussie natives in my garden. The local council used to give their rate payers local native plants, but stopped. This will help to fill that gap a little. Cheers OP!

    • +1

      We're rooting for you.

  • +1

    Thanks OP

  • Great for hay fever sufferers….

    • +11

No they won’t, because I won’t raise them to be so shortsighted.

      • +6

Ah so you will get them to apply earlier than 30yrs😜

      • shortsighted

        Shoulda gone to Specsavers..

    • -2

They don't have to worry because people like me will kill them trying to grow them .
I won't try as not worth the signup .

    • Feeling lawnly?

  • +5

Let’s see if this takes root…

    • +1

      Grow hard or grow home!

  • Thanks op let’s get seeded!

It's Albo time for a SlowMow.

  • +10

I hope the seeds dont grow into the trees by the time auspost delivers it. 😅

  • Chia seeds?

  • +3

Without knowing what these grow, I'll pass. Free is not worth it, if I bin them.

    • +3

Yeah… native Australian seeds could be anything from a native grass to a massive gum tree.

I get they may now be able to guarantee a specific variety, but give us a hint.

    • +9

Put them in your car glove box. Next time your driving in the country and little Jimmy needs to do a wee….. clear a patch and throw the seeds around.
Hopefully when little Jimmy is a man he can breath some cool oxygen from those trees or what ever(s)

I hope they are prepared to be ozbargained…
