Excellent price on this new release Poco phone that beats the recent Hekka and AliExpress deals. The coupon code in this deal applies 10% off everything sitewide at Banggood, BUT it returns products to full price before applying the discount so most products end up being more expensive. Fortunately this Poco ends up being much cheaper with the code.

Featuring a 6.67" AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5, 6GB RAM, 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, NFC, 5G Connectivity, Dual SIM + Hybrid (SIM or MicroSD), MIUI 13 for POCO (Android 11), 5000mAh battery with 67W turbo charging, 108MP/8MP/2MP Rear Camera, 16MP Front Camera, IR Blaster, Fingerprint reader, 3.5mm audio and powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 695.

For reviews I recommend checking out Techtablets as it's compared against the new POCO M4 Pro budget phone. A summary is that the X4 Pro 5G offers a better 120Hz screen with 360Hz touch, faster charging by 30 minutes, better loudspeakers, 3.5mm audio and better ultrawide photos.

A big downside is that this phone does not offer Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix/Amazon HD. It's important to note that the gaming performance of the Snapdragon 695 and Helio G96 is nearly identical, though the SD695 performs better in AnTuTu benchmarks overall.

Slower than the POCO X3 Pro? How come POCO decided to go from a Snapdragon 860 to a 695? I guess the AMOLED display and better camera make up for it.

With the Snapdragon 860 being a discontinued SoC, Poco would have had to source something else and this would be it for their mid-range phone. The soon to be released flagship Poco F4 and F4 Pro should have a Snapdragon 870 and Dimensity 9000.

For this as you've mentioned the AMOLED display, better cameras, 5G etc. make up for the CPU downgrade. If you already have an X3 Pro I wouldn't really recommend upgrading with this.

True. Thanks for the insight. Actually bought a X3 Pro a few months ago from a previous post of yours!

      • Thanks, upgrade from an exynos s10 has been tempting lately but will wait to see the F4

It'll likely be based on the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi K50 so that'll be another to look out for.

  • Any deals on the X3 since this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/667445 ? Been waiting ever since

  • My recommendation would be to wait for the F4's release before purchasing. If it has these specs and a better SOC for a bit more it's worth it in my books.

    • Eh, F series removes SD card and head phone jacks.

    UFS 2.2 🤣

    • Could be worse. Could be eMMC 5.1.

        could be iPhone se 2022

        • Meaning? Just to be clear, I'm Not an iphone fanboy.

  • Kinda disappointing that there is a fairly significant dowgrade in SoC and storage speed for this poco x4 "pro".

Maybe they will release a version with a better SoC and storage later on like what they did with the x3 nfc

I think they're trying to separate their mid range and flagship phones better. Wait for the F4.

      • they sorta left a hole in the segment after the poco x3 pro is no longer on sale. The no frills performance oriented phone, which these phone manufacturers seem to always drift away from (like poco F1, OnePlus, zuk)

Imo phones segments aren't defined only by the processor

When will we see wireless charging on these budget phones? They seem to have everything else but wireless charging

Ooh I am a sucker for a new phone, especially a good mid-range phone deal… But when I compared it to my Note 10 Pro, the differences don't make it worth it, especially since 5G isn't worth the struggle in my area, and I prefer the design of the Note.
For those who were wondering, those differences are:
SD695 benchmarked 5-10% faster GPU and 10-20% CPU vs 732G.
    X4 supports 5G vs the 4G Note 10 Pro.
360hz touch sampling on the X4 vs 240hz on the Note (you'll never notice this).
X4 main sensor photo and video quality seems a fair bit worse but that may be the test or the software's fault.
Unusable (imho) 2mp macro vs 5mp in the Note.
67W charging vs 33W in the Note. This is the only biggie in favour of the X4.

    • Xiaomi is known of its chaotic mid range products. Cost-control.

    • Note 10 and 10 pro were such beautiful phones, especially in aura glow. Found it hard for me to move on.
