Was looking for a replacement for the old Blueskysea B1W and stumbled on 70mai (Xiaomi M300) dash camera. This is the successor to the Xiaomi 70mai Dash Cam 1S which had a lower resolution and smaller FOV. This version is 140 degree FOV and records 2304x1296P (30fps)

The major drawback that I can see is that it uses a Lithium polymer battery (240mah) and these batteries will eventually deteriorate / swell as they age, with the hot Australian summer heat accelerating the degradation you might not expect very good battery life after a while.
There's also no built in display so a smartphone app with Wifi is needed if you want to view footage on the device.
