  • The 3 ply is $11 ($9.90 S+S). Also at Amazon.

    • +2

Whatever you do don't buy the 3 ply garbage. It's thin, tears easily and you end up using twice as much because of how bad it is.

    • +2

This Absorba 4 ply is worth the extra, its great, you wont go back

      • -3

Only ever get Handee. Much better and stronger paper.

        • +4

I used to settle for Handee until I tried the Absorba.

        • +1

I fimd handee is trash compared to viva. Viva has really good integrity. I sometimes feel guilty for disposing a square used for something really small because I know it can be reused multiple times.

          • @boretentsu: Trash in what way ? Personally I find it much softer vs Viva which feels scratchy to me. Strength is same when its wet.

            • +1

@Omarko: Strength is miles apart for me. Viva feels like it has structural integrity. The scratchiness is probably a by product of being so sturdy. Not sure why softness is important for a paper towel but if I need to use it as a wet wipe, the texture softens enough and the ripples still help catch debris. Handee just feels like a stronger toilet paper. I've thought about this too much.

    • +2

3 ply is thinner and smaller in dimensions.
      Also they fall apart easily.

  • Better than Tuffy from Woolworths?

    • +1

I couldn't tell the difference, most likely the same product rebranded for Amazon

    • +1

they are the same, as long as you're getting the 4ply

  • +1

How does this compare to Quilton Tuffy?

I still have some from this deal, worked out cheaper per roll, and is the best paper towel I've tried so far.

  • +1

What is the usual price for this item? Camel3 makes it look like $13 is the regular price

    • +1

      This is the usual price

  • +1

normal price, deal price is around $8

    Anyway, best paper towel.

  • +1

Just note this is a shorter paper towel than the 3 ply. For me it wouldn't fit on the paper towel dispenser.

  • +5

Normal price and almost always in stock. Waiting for $8 again

    • +1

you mean $7.65 on S&S like June last year? good times

      • Stocked up on Prime Day too!

        • thought it wasn't that cheap on prime day

  • Lol. I was reading the description thinking the deal is for Quilton toilet paper and feeling #&@&$#

  • How thick do TP need to get?

  • +1

I normally buy Viva. Is this better?

    • +3

Much better than Viva or Handee

  • +1

    S&S not available anymore.

  • S&S not available anymore.

  • Can also be used as toilet paper for the adventurous!

    • +1

NB. Do NOT use this as toilet paper. Just to be clear.

      • Yes as will end up v $$ when you have to call out the plumber as these blocked the pipe after you flushed them down the toilet.

        • +6

If you need sheets this large to wipe, it's not the paper that's blocking the pipes.

          • @Jef Tino: It's not the paper that's blocking the pipes, its the 'sheets'.

    Any recycled ones on special?

Also from Amazon au the double length 8 pack equivalent to 16 normal roll is available for $17 or $15.30 s&s https://www.amazon.com.au/Quilton-Absorba-Double-Length-Papeā€¦

    • +1

      Works out cheaper

      • ~$1/roll or less is good, pretty similar
3.5 stars for the double length, probably wait for viva

  • Amazon are watching us :)
Everything suggested in this post has become unavailable.

  • +1

How to these compare to the ozbargain standard go to towels, viva? $1 a roll or less is the price.

    • nvm no s&s, long delivery times

      • Tuffy (at half price) is the go-to, not Viva.

        • that would be fine for half price i'm sure

  • The last 2 times I've bought this it's been $11.70 with S&S (full price $13). No S&S option this time, it appears to be because they're low on stock.

I'm holding out until S&S is available again, but again I am running low-ish so might have to pay $13 if it doesn't come back soon.

    • +1

Did you buy it yet? The double length's s&s is slightly cheaper per 100 sheets compared to this s&s.

      Normal pack of 12 @ regular price ($13) = $1.8 / 100 sheets
      Normal pack of 12 @ s&s price ($11.70) = $1.62 / 100 sheets
      Double length of 8 @ s&s price ($15.30) = $1.59 / 100 sheets

Plus double length isn't in backorder.
