Not a bad price, but PetPost has this for $41.63 (with code MISSYOU10) per bag with free shipping on just one bag. I bought one from there on Friday.

    Purina (Nestle) = Junk

It's $46 at Pet Post with shipping included, so no deal here unfortunately.

  • Both dry and wet Purina cat and dog food is terrible for your pets. They use the bad parts of the animals to make them, ask any vet and they'll tell you the same thing. Sorry OP but negging this.

    • what's the best alternative? happy to spend a bit more

I use taste of the wild for my dogs, it is very expensive however

I previously worked in a Nestlé offal plant sorting meat for pet food. I know exactly what goes in. And yes - it isn't Scotch Fillet.

      • Similar going into hot dogs…

  • I've read about people using this as a filler in addition to raw meat and veg

    • Do they live underground / off the grid?

    • My father in law does this. Dogs get cheap as sh1t kibble but routinely get freshly hunted roo and rabbit to supplement it.

  • Has 3.2 out of 10 rating on petfoodreviews

Thanks OP for the promotion; marketing bla-bla was a bit too much, though.

  • Purina is an ok product, contrary to the dog food aficionados’ belief. What dogs get from food is nutrition and taste, don’t treat or equate dogs to humans. This is the biggest mistake some dog owners make.

A gourmet meal for humans doesn’t necessarily equate to the same thing for dogs. And yes, dogs benefit from fibre, so grain is good for their gut. They are not wolves, they have been selectively bred for centuries to be who they are.

Dogs need lots more than food and water to keep them healthy. You need to brush them often depending on the coat type, brush their teeth, clip their nails, wash them, immunise them, give worm and flea treatments, go for walks often, show affection and stimulate them mentally as well.

How do I know this? I have owned 6 dogs (multiple dogs at the same time too) since I was young.

  • I used to by this cheap stuff but was recommended Applaws based on price and availability in ColesWorth.
