As much as I want this game I can't see more value in this than elden ring.
If I got elden ring for equivalent of $79 I won't spend more than that for gt7

Yep with all these games out lately I'm happy to wait for the $49-69 sales.

HFW and GT7 should be free on PS+ anyway.

Agree with your first sentence. Hard disagree on the second.

          You don't understand competitive landscape.
I have always had both PS and XB for the exclusive games and different groups of friends.

Now that cross play is available and with the way Game Pass + EA is on XB1X, I find myself ignoring my PS5. I struggle to make myself pay full price for a PS5 game and the only games I've bought are Ghost of Tsushima and Deathloop.

PS needs to adapt to the challenge presented by XB very soon. I can't see myself buying games on the PS platform with the value Ingetnout of XB

@Suspect420: Other than the Dual Sense the PS5 is a pretty meh offering. Huge af compared with the Xbox Series X. Xbox runs quieter, has game pass, looks better (subjective I know) and games are cheaper. It’s a shame that the last gen of xbox was so bad as I feel that Sony are just pushing forward with the momentum that they gained back then.

@heatus: This sums up my opinion perfectly. Well said

            • +2

@heatus: There are still great first party IPs on Sony but if the same suit follows with the ps4 they will soon be on Windows.

I can cope with $50, but personally I don't play enough to pay $100

I'm sure, most claim on their credit card price protection anyways.

    • Depends on what you like to play. I would pay $92 for GT7 (I paid $154 for the 25th SE) but wouldnt pay $79 for Elden Ring as its not my type of game. I will sqeeze every last task from GT7 but Elden Ring would sit on the shelf if I bought it full RRP….so the value of a game that I dont complete is the worst kind of gaming ROI, price v hours played.

  • Is there any reason to buy the ps5 version if the PS4 version gives you a free ps5 upgrade?

    • +2

I doubt the PS4 version has a free upgrade.

    • +3

      $15 paid upgrade, I believe.

It should still work out to be cheaper, however some people still like to purchase the PS5 copy since it doesn't require you to download the upgrade files, may be quieter than running the PS4 disc (don't really know why), and could potentially have a higher resell value.

      • Oh okay I thought it was free like some of the games I have on PS4. Thanks for letting me know, I'll just get the ps5 version.
