    Competitive remuneration package

Why not be upfront about what that is for people to gauge interest?

    • +4

This, such a stupid thing to say. It's not hard to state a range, not even worth going through the application process to be told that the pay rate is $20 an hour.

    • +7

It really depends how many large "untracked" purchases they can get away with!

    • +1

When they do that, they exclude high quality candidates who know better than to waste their time unless they're desperate.

      So, either:
      - Shopback is unaware of this, which makes them look incompetent and inexperienced in managing the company.
      - Or shopback is aware and doesn't care if they have low quality candidates. Which could be said of the quality of the company.

Their post makes them look really bad if one was trying to put trust in the company.

    • TTL marketing experience

But think of the experience. It's not all about money. /s

    Interview question #1
How would you respond to comments that ShopBack was hacked and names, phone numbers, email addresses were stolen

    • +7

      "Here's $2 cashback on a $10 spend".

Should work on people 90%+ of the time

    • +4

Candidate: "I would deny, defend and then deflect. I would demonstrate my commitment by then astroturfing any/all review sites with fake five star feedback"

Interviewer: "Can you start on Monday?"

  • I'm sure it would be a lot of fun if I applied ;)

    What happened to Debra?

I think I have done my dash by calling GYB notGYG in the past : (

  • +1

Although I've never had an issue with SB, given the reputation they have with OB users I wonder if this is the best place to advertise a job?

  • How much are you paying for this role ? #wagetransparency

  • +4

The Seek advert is in a pay bracket (60-70k) if anyone is interested. Not much further info.

    • What can you expect for a no qualification, one year exp role?

  • The first thing noticed missing in the job ads is salary bracket. While it is probably not mandatory to indicate that, posting it on a more personal or less formal forum like Ozb is expected to reveal more information including pay range. At least that is what I expect.

Make no mistake, supply and demand works everywhere. When supply of (potential) labour is abundant (read: lots of applications) they can be very picky. Many say they may not state the full requirements or preference to avoid public backlash, legal action, or other things and stay safe by going plain vanilla. But the reality is nobody outside the hiring company really knows what constitutes the 'perfect' candidate, if any, they want to hire.

No offense and this does not refer or directed to any particular company, ads, or party, it is an illustration of a typical job ads that get edited for whatever reasons they think fit.

Original Ads: good looking (hidden), attractive appearance (hidden), maximum 35 y.o. (hidden), graduates of top 50 universities of 2022 QS World University Ranking or Go8 (hidden), few years of relevant experience would be preferred, willing to work under pressure and overtime (hidden), […]
    and the list goes on…

Feel free to put things on the blank space.

Question is if they can and demand stellar qualifications and experience and they think it is only normal to do so, when in reality, some only pay peanut barely above the minimum wage or pay rate, isn't it normal as well for the candidate to ask astronomical salary level?

The key lesson learned is, make it sufficient to have 1 - 2 kids if you can / are willing to limit job supply, unless you want or need big family, to control supply of labour. Of course this is the perspective of job seekers while employers and others in general desire cheap abundant easily replaceable labour.

    Epilogue

A: It is ridiculous to curb human rights to have the freedom on how many kids they can have just for the sake of preserving wage level! We can always import foreign talents!

B: Yes but what if this is a concerted global effort / trend? Besides, why do you want to have 4, 5, or 10 kids? Having family is not about feeding them thrice a day… It is a lot more than that! Can you ensure or how do you ensure a good living standard for you and the family in all aspects? This is ain't a (excuse my wording: human) farm, is it?
