Well after Booking.com's price gouging for cashback partners was laid out by many OzBargainers, I've noticed ShopBack are doing 16% cashback on Expedia Australia.
I've checked the property I've had my eyes on and it's actually cheaper than Booking.com (and everywhere else), and the same price when clicking through from ShopBack. YMMV and if you find Expedia are also price gouging for cashback sites please neg away!

It's up to booking site to send details to cashback business after stay is completed. And those details may be delayed by your accommodation. Trickier process than normal purchase with cashback.
If that doesn't happen with any cashback site, unfortunately needs to be followed up.
A trick I've learnt & regularly use:
As was only booking 2n, did as 2 separate 1n bookings.
That way, Expedia automatically charges first night of each booking - there's no refund of first night. So there is no need to prove I completed stay.
(Was extending my stay - indicating that in "special request" of bookings, so reception automatically made booking in same room. My extension was confirmed by reception.)

Downside over previous Booking.com bookings is automatically charged for first day - no refund if cancel anytime.
Booking.com allowed same day cancellation. Handy when weather is so uncertain.
Both booking services for my accommodation were same price as without cashback, no gouging.
Be sure to check the rate being charged when using Shopback versus not using Shopback. There's been many cases of pricing being inflated when either Shopback or Cashrewards is used.

Shop back is terrible for hotels. I had to submit proof of booking to claim my cash back even though it tracked. Still waiting for approval despite my hotel dates are over 150 days old. Pathetic!!
