  • How does this compare to Kitchenaide one?

      Covered in the description! :)

  • I don't know they seem to sell only the XL models now. I bought a Kenwood Chef Sense a couple years ago and the smaller 4.7L bowl has never even come close to being full. What am I ever going to make 6.7L of at one time?

As an aside, I have been very happy with the mixer. Used frequently, always does the job, no issues.

    • The bigger one is really for bigger batch of whatever you're making, some other brands/models with bigger bowl actually suffer/fail from making minimal ingredients, like can't even wisk 2 eggs etc.

    • Yeah, I noticed this too - they do sell the non-XL models internationally but seem to have stopped selling it in Australia. Wouldn't have minded a smaller model!

EDIT: Actually looked up the differences in dimensions, it seems the XL models are only taller than the standard model by 5cm. Width and height are the same.

  • Just signed up for afterpay and got only $600 to spend which is suck…

On the other hand my purchase from Amazon yesterday is getting delivered today!

This is such a dilemma as I do prefer buying from local. However the processing time, delivery speed, pricing and sometimes the trouble to get them to honour their own pricing policy etc… just doesn't seem worth it and got to give it to Amazon unfortunately.

    • You can use gift cards with AfterPay checkout (detailed in the description), which would lower the amount that would need to go through AfterPay!

That said, Amazon's customer service + delivery speed is pretty great!

      • That's via The Good Guys Concierge Rewards, right? Looks like need to sign up for another account.

Nope, so you'd buy discounted eBay gift cards via the link in the description and then use the AFPY10 code with the giftcards.

Just a heads up, these things are huge. I've got one and I have nowhere I can store it upright, so it ends up on its side in a kitchen cupboard, but whatever lubricant they use in it leaks a bit over time when you do that. Just make sure you've got the space for it.

  • Whats its counterpart in Kitchenaide?

      • I wouldn't compare it to this one. It doesn't have temperature control, top light and it is also elevated, which several people find it quite uncomfortable.

        • Oh interesting - I thought it would be this because it has the closest capacity (6.9L on KA vs 6.8L on the KW). The other KA models seem to be 4.8L.

@poppingtags: To be honest is a great machine. So many options and 10 years guarantee is hard to get

  • Use StepPay from CBA to get another $20 off.

  • How much difference does a good mixer make vs a cheapie for the average cake? Could see it being a bigger deal for heavy dough.

    • If all you need are light cake batters, this is definitely overkill - even hand mixers would work fine for that!

    • i personally would err on the side or more powerful mixers if you are mixing heavier things like dough. the lower power motors will worth fine for thin stuff, but higher risk of burning out if you stress them bit too much and too often

Agree- these things last forever & more sturdier than the kitchenaid mixers! Parents still have one which works well from the early 80's. I have the XL (KVL6100T) mixer & it's awesome! It makes pizza dough, mashed potato etc and the larger size bowl is actually really handy! If I had an attacker i'd fight them off with the K-beater :-) Paid $580 at JB. So with your offer you're paying an extra $120 or so for extra 5 years warranty & a 300kW motor upgrade. Mind you, I'm not the biggest fan of the Good Guys…
