[Afterpay] Bowden’s Own Snow Blow Cannon $62.99 + Shipping/Pickup @ Supercheap Auto eBay

170
AFPY10

Saw this on Supercheap Auto’s website for $69.99 but it is even cheaper on their eBay store if you pay with afterpay.

Picked this up from Repco recently with the Mega Snow Combo pack for $57 on clearance. Very happy with the thick foam results and it works better then the one I got from AliExpress a couple of years ago.

What’s so good about these snow cannons ?
Serious question, I don’t get it. Is a bucket and sponge no good ?

I haven't found a difference, but there is a simple pleasure in covering the entirety of your car in a thick foam

My Gerni came with a soap dispenser…does a reasonable job & produces an adequate amount of foam when using standard grade car shampoo. I find it more useful dispensing surface cleaner prior to pressure washing concrete / driveways.

        • I have the same Gerni attachment are you saying this ones much better it are you saying in general based on the Gerni one?
I haven't used it in a while but from memory it worked pretty well dispensing the soap efficiently and providing a decent lather. I always worry once it starts lathering like crazy you are probably using way to much detergent which doesn't matter is you are using dish soap but does if you are using some expensive specialist stuff.
          Hmmmm Do I or don't I???
Thanks OP btw I'm definitely intrigued.

          • @Clarky77: The Gerni attachment doesn't produce as much foam, but that might be due to me using run of the mill shampoo & not the fancy Bowden's one. Either way, it's enough to cover my Passat in a good lather. This snow cannon thingo looks cool but I can't justify the expense as I don't detail my car, just wash it when it's required.

@Ham Dragon: Yeah I totally agree, I haven't had a car for a while but I'm looking for one atm as I need one to get to work so thought it might be helpful but the more I think about it this is probably for people who are way more car proud than me as I know after a few months of taking pride in my new vehicle I'll start to get lazy and just wash as required so a beautiful thick lather won't be something I care about to much.
But I'm a man damn it and I need the best gadget for every scenario, just in case lol

@Ham Dragon: I also have an old Gerni with the attachment bottle thingo. I have only really tried cheap wash n wax in there (Armorall -eek don't judge me!) and it does an OK job. Would love any recommendations on an alternative wash n wax product that would foam up thicker and be less on the runny side!

        • There is a new gerni one that is more similar https://gerni.com.au/external-soap-sprayers/

FWIW, I have tried everything in regards to touchless washing and nothing can replace physically putting a sponge/wash mitt on the car.

The cannon can definitely speed the process up a bit + has cool factor.

Typically, the snow foam is just step 1 in a whole process, it's a pre-wash before doing a sponge/mitt job.

    • It's for those that are super picky/into detailing and car shows. If you just wet and wipe down the car immediately, the dust left on the paint, when you wipe it, will leave super super fine spider web scratches. The idea with these products is they lift off as much dust/dirt as possible before you wipe.

On the link, I have "save $10 off with afterpay"
Use code 'afterpay10' for $10 off. Technically, for 59.99 then

    • That’s a different code, it’s for the first time you use afterpay on eBay. If you have already used afterpay then used the code in this post.

  • Canon good if you wash car every week. Where dirt hasn't had chance to stick to car yet. Otherwise it's useless you need to hand wash to get rid of dirt that's stuck.

    • +2

Still usually gets quite a bit off and helps lift dirt when you rinse it off.

The less crap on the paint when you start washing the better…

      • +2

Yeh I find no different to just a pressure blast first gets rid of loose dirt. The snow foam feels redundant lol

  • Bowdens triple pack snow foam $50. (Was $70)
Can't see it on SCA ebay

  • I own this item and have used it a few times. I have also invested in 5L foam liquid from the recent repco deal which would last me for over 10 years I think. But I have to agree with most comments here that there is just a 'cool factor' of covering the car in thick foam, this thing just can't replace the normal sponge/bucket washing.

  • I just bought a Recpo Eclipse knock off cannon. It works reasonably alright, although admittedly not as good as the Bowdens Own video (I need to tinker with it a bit after only using it once).

My view on them is that it significantly sped up the 2 bucket method for me by already picking off most of the loose dirt. The car ended up looking more clean than usual.

So before you buy - realise that this is essentially a pre-wash solution rather than a quick wash one.

Also - for the Bowdens unit beware that you also need to buy the attachment for your given pressure washer. Their website makes this easy to figure out, but it's an incremental $11 you need to pay

  • Anyone tried one of these e-foamers? Looks a lot more convenient than unscrewing the hose attachments.

    • Seen these before, but fair bit more expensive

Don't know anyone that has one of these.

      • Found a slightly cheaper 'alternative'

        • love the reviews..

"Electric foam sprayer battery because some but forgot to weight loss quality is also very good high quality aluminum car and make you satisfied"

          "Eggplant for 5000 thousand"

"How many workers can I pour to give him foam? 1.8 L or less"

  • Will this fit my Bosch Pressure Washer EasyAquatak 100?
I currently use the built in foamer with Polar Blast but it never looks as thick as in the videos. Not sure if it's the canon or the product.

      Water hardness also.
Our local water is super hard and definitely doesn't soap up like in other areas.
As well as water pressure and water volume of pressure wasger and orifice size of foam cannon all contribute to amount of suds from foam cannons

      • Thank you. I'll save my $$$ for something else.
