[VIC] Penn & Teller at Hamer Hall 14-18/6 (20% off): Platinum $130.60, Premium $122.60, A Res $100.60, B Res $90.60 @ Ticketek

1500
PENN

Was looking at tickets to Penn & Teller who are bringing out their Las Vegas show in June for a few shows in Melbourne. 14-18 June 8pm at Hamer Hall.

There was a spot to enter a password which I assumed would either give a discount or a premium selection of seats.

Thought I'd have a guess and entered the code PENN. After entering prices were discounted by 20%.
Good for those that were planning to go.

Seating Price
Platinum $130.60 Out of Stock
Premium $122.60
A Reserve $100.60
B Reserve $90.60
C Reserve $74.60

Edit: C Reserve now showing for Saturday night show. Unfortunately can't update title seems to be too long already.

PRICE magically disappeared from the title…

    • +5

      Bullshit! :)

      • +3

There was a period of about 15 minutes when there were no prices in the title.

That's awesome, my fav show by far of the dozen I went to in Vegas. Didn't know they were coming here, thanks!

    • +7

Teller didnt tell me either but not that suprising i guess

      • +3

My Mrs actually spoke with him!
        Their conversation was brief…
Her: “I don’t like to talk to people much”
        Him: “Me either”

  • +8

Man I love these duo. I hope they come to Perth! We need more magic show in our soil!

    • +19

I hope they come to Perth!

LOL… Nobody can come to Perth…

      • +7

Ffs why are you negging this comment? It’s the truth!

      • Bollocks. You can come if you are married to a local or have parents who are dying.

Never thought I'd like one of your comments!

        • It's sad that WA do not feel like they are part of Australia…

          • -1

@jv: Not WA per se, but rather one extremely optimistic person that is supposed to represent the people feeling that shooting themselves in the foot is the better option no matter how much it may cripple.
            Turns out covid doesn't discriminate
to those with or without self inflicted gunshot wounds to the foot.

  • +3

Where do you put the discount code even?

    • +4

Once you select a date, a field will appear to enter the password

Where do you put the discount code even?

      That's part of the magic…

      • +5

Does anyone know how to just ban JV?

        • +4

I would pay good money for a browser extension to hide his remarks

        • +6

          If only hey …..
The best thing I ever did was block their comments so they are hidden, that way don't have to see or put up with the useless dribble that comes out of their mouth.

          Steps to do this.
          1.goto my account
          2.settings
          3.blocked
          4.scroll to "blocked commentaters"
5.Enter the user you wish to block i.e JV

            @Schumi5: Ha it worked!

          • +1

@Schumi5: You can also just find any of jv's comments and click the "hide" option.

  • +5

wear a mask or you might make grandma disappear.

    • Hahahaha love it

    • +7

She disappeared 40 years ago, but if they can make her come back, it would being the house down.

  • Ah great. I was hoping they would return. I think it was 2020 I was supposed to see them in Sydney!

  • +1

    D'oh!
    Bought last night.
That said not many good tickets left for Friday or Saturday in Melbourne.

    • +10

Don't feel too bad, I bought tickets… Then decided to try the code… The ultimate Ozbargain Sin

  • +6

Went and saw them in Vegas and during the show Vegas had a blackout. So they performed the whole show by torches. Ultimate performers. Still was entertaining even in the dark.

    • Any partial refund?

      • +3

        They performed, so no.

        • +1

Of course. Not seeing much adds to the atmosphere I guess.

          • +3

@Laziofogna: Not seeing much makes 'magic' easier

    • +1

After the show, I asked Penn how he made the cow disappear…..he said, what cow?

  • Platinum seats all exhausted?

    • I did best available and got Circle Premium, so I'd say no platinum (for the 17th)

    • +1

Platinum was gone by 5pm yesterday when I bought.

    • +1

Do you need platinum to hear Teller?

  • +2

You will find as they sell out sections they will open others.
Yesterday only the stalls(bottom section) was available and as tickets sold the circle tickets appeared so assume that's what they will continue doing

    • Yeah it seems they reserve some seating there is a whole bunch unavailable but not sold

  • Awesome grabbed some tickets, thanks for posting

  • Any idea what "Single seats only" means for Platinum? Looking to take the kids along so hopefully sitting together but that might not be possible…

Edit: nvm, it won't let me book more than 1 anyway

  • +2

    TELLER works too

    • -5

      TELLER works too

      True, he hasn't retired yet…

      • +1

TELLER didn't discount as much for me, so I used PENN

        • PENN IS BETTER…

  • +9

Great show and top blokes - we saw their show in Vegas before the pandemic.

Everyone was scrambling to get a photo with them after the show, and Teller reassured the crowd that they would hang around until everyone got to meet them. They've been performing for over half a century without paywalling themselves behind a "V.I.P. Meet and Greet experience" - respect!

(Also it really does throw you off the first time you hear Teller speak. He is actually very well spoken and articulated!)

      • He speaks a fair bit these days. He does a bit of theatre work that he promotes as well as a masterclass on magic (Penn and Teller).

    • He gave up a great "Aussies Hey? G'Day Mate" when we were talking with him..

  • +1

god damn it. I had fantastic seats twice for both shows that were cancelled, Wonder why there was no notice of this coming for those that already had previous shows cancelled :-(

    • -6

Wonder why there was no notice of this coming for those that already had previous shows cancelled

      Why should there be?

      • +1

because there was supposed to be a pre sale event for previous ticket holders. Apparently there was one yesterday for Sydney, but for some reason some people never got notified (e.g. me, or my friends who had also previously booked).

        • -4

because there was supposed to be a pre sale event for previous ticket holders

          why?

Ticket sales should be fair to everyone…

          • +1

@jv: because those people already paid, some of us twice and had our tickets cancelled firstly due to Teller's operation then due to Covid and were promised priority tickets at the next opportunity. Hence it is fair as we already queued and bought tickets. What would be unfair is people that queued TWICE miss out for the only shows that go ahead.

            • -2

              @gromit:

              because those people already paid,

              didn't you get a refund ?

              • +1

@jv: eventually, but took a very long. Hence the promise of priority access to future tickets.

                • -1

                  @gromit:

Hence the promise of priority access

Did you get it in writing?

Also, are these shows organised by the same promoter?

                  • +1

@jv: Yes I have it in writing, and yes they even appear to have met that commitment to many. They just failed to correctly notify everyone.

                    • -2

@gromit: Maybe your contact details were incorrect?

                      • +1

@jv: that was actually my first thought so logged in to check and searched my email in case I had missed something. But everything correct my end and others that were also going same day as us also didn't get a notified. besides which I know my details are correct as the phantom of the opera tickets were bought with same account which they notified me of the new event and ticket dates (we got early access to those too for the same reason).

                        • -1

                          @gromit:

(we got early access to those too for the same reason).

maybe only one 'early access' offer per customer?

                          • @jv: yeah no. it is based on prior purchase to the same event, they don't intend to punish those that attend a lot of events.

                            • -1

                              @gromit:

it is based on prior purchase to the same event

you don't know that for sure though.

                              • @jv: 100% certainty no, but highly unlikely it is any other way. Will find out soon anyway as I have contacted them and waiting for a callback.

                              • +2

@jv: Now I do know for sure. They apologised and said I should have gotten an invite and sent me a link to access some tickets. So all good.

                                • +1

@gromit: jv's incessant questioning actually resulted in a good outcome. Who knew that was ever possible. Glad you managed to sort it out!

                                • +1

@gromit: Eight replies to JV. I love how you treated him seriously. 😂

@rokufan: meh, sometimes the best way to detooth a troll is drown them in facts.

                                    • @gromit: Agree. In case it wasn't clear, I'm not mocking you. Normally people blow up after a couple of JV's tedious replies, but you were very earnest, polite and patient. I found the thread entertaining. Also, unlike most others here I quite enjoy JV.

  • Great, tickets got!

  • What are concession / admit tickets? Do you need govt issued concession card or something for eligibility? 🤔

    update, nvm found it here

A concession card (or valid photo ID with date of birth clearly visible if booking "Youth" tickets) is required at the time of purchase. Photocopies of concession cards can be used provided the expiry date is visible. Please note: Concession numbers are not sufficient proof of concession status

Don't forget to claim 5% off of tickets with suncorp benefits :)

    • People on concessions shouldn't have enough money to go and see shows!

  • +1

Saw them in Vegas… it was a great show and I met them afterwards and got photos, autographs and was able to chat with them. Highly recommended.

  • Envious of people lucky enough to go, but grats. Also, the moment I saw the code, I heard them all reading it slightly out of sync, lol. Audibly stuck in my head forever.

  • Anyone know what the view is from the SCIRCLE section?

  • thanks, tix booked. Not great seats, but have always liked these guys.

  • C Reserve now available for Saturday night show for people that were still looking
    $74.60

  • Excellent! Was about to say the same. Got C reserve for saturday + 10% discount through corp gift card.

  • Got front row seats for the Brisbane show! $149 but so worth it !!!

    • How? QPAC website says general public not available until March 3rd.
We did purchase tickets in 2020 that were refunded but havent heard anything

      • They sent out an email to people who had tickets cancelled a couple of days ago.

  • Thanks OP, I'm going to Vegas in May and was disappointed to find I couldn't book Penn & Teller as they're not performing whilst I'm there. Now I'll get to see them a month later anyway!

  • Been to the Vegas show twice, and it’s ok, wouldn’t say it’s anything to rave on about though and I mean that respectfully. But as blokes, they’re top notch, which is why I went back the second time. Just like everyone else has said, they stayed behind until every single person had a photo and got a signature. For that, I’d recommend going any chance you can to see them perform.

  • Hurry, be under no illusion, tickets disappearing fast!

  • I just got some tickets in the Sydney presale and can confirm neither PENN or TELLER as codes worked unfortunately.
