You rekon Easter will be better pricing?
No idea… everything coming down in price right now is due to the complete lack of interest from crypto miners to pay a premium price for new GPU's and the average Joe waiting on the sidelines for lower prices to come along with improved stock from AMD and Nvidia.
If crypto comes back in a month or two we may see another spike in GPU prices….(*youtube) The Hardware unboxed guys do a good breakdown of pricing month by month.
We also have the looming introduction of ETH 2.0 staking that's also making GPU miners reluctant to make new purchases.
Noone knows, when you'll see better prices. All the PC youtubers last year were saying prices would drop and they didn't.
My take on it is to buy if you're happy to spend the money, and won't have buyer's remorse if the price falls further.
They always say not to check PC part prices after you've bought them LOL
I hope you're right. Still running GTX970 here, will keep till it breaks. :)
Same, though if I can get a stock 3050 @ RRP, I might pull the trigger (less power hungry, cooler and possibly quieter in my setup).
At current prices for all components, I am riding out my current gaming PC as long as I can.
I can also play a lot of current games through GeForce Now that my 970 wouldn't have a hope of playing at 60fps…
Same here. Still going strong for what I use it: eg. CSGO
GTX970 owner too!
Though I bought RTX3070 Ti just last weekend. I am in the process of claiming salary sacrifice on my entire system to keep the price reasonable. :)
Even if the performance increase isn't as good, at least the new gen will cause a massive flood of 30s series gpus.
So ironic, we're still trying to get them at decent prices and when the 40s come out, we may get it at a decent price finally, but they wont be new ones.
If prices haven't come down to at least RRP for Nvidia 3000 series and AMD 7000 series when the new stuff comes out.
Prices for the new gen GPU's will not good :).. i think even the intel GPU's will cost heaps
Peps think Intel will save us, but may as well end up being more expensive than even 60s series gpus
btw, we missed out on a $710, 3060. OOF
@dbmitch: RRP of the RTX3060 is $329USD = $457.33AUD + 10% GST makes it $500
When we start seeing $500-$550 RTX3060 i may buy one
Correct, it is on the news again, HODL till next month if you can, otherwise some will regret …

Hmmmm how come 3060 has more memory than a 3070 and 3080.
If we all HODL on till next month, gamers will be final winners for sure, just don't buy any GPUs if you can this month no matter what. Definitely massive crash on GPU prices coming next month:

Price will keep coming down…. The stock market will tank tomorrow.. Crypto is a per-causer for the market and its tanking right now…
After this WAR is resolved the stock market and crypto with skyrocket again and prices for GPU's may go back up in the short term until new Nvidia 4000 series and AMD 7000 Series GPU's come out around the end of the year.
Nvidia RTX4060 is supposed to be around the performance of a RTX3090 and AMD RX7600 are supposed to be around the performance of a RX6900XT
Whatever happens we are going to see "good value" mid-rage pricing in the future… so buy now only if you need something now.
