  • Made by Crytek, the team behind Crysis.

The gameplay is repetitive, but has a decent story

    • +4

'The gameplay is repetitive' can be applied to about 80%+ of games out there…

      • +3

Ironically repetition is a repeated issue.

A lot of people say this about Ryse, but I can't remember playing a game with a combat system this satisfying. You can feel the power running through your veins as you cut everyones limbs.

Maybe that's just me though :D

Overall, fun short little game, 8/10.

This game is boring AF. Look to Assassins Creed for a fantastic combat system.

        • +2

If anything I respect the studio way more than AC. Why?

Crytek could have literally just made different versions of Ryse for different eras like AC does and milk it.

AC is literally the SAME game every year with a different skin and a 5% improvement in graphics every year.

@tightm8: Crytek were and still are a sh*t developer though who have never been able to make anything other than game-length tech demos with incredibly over-hyped graphics and the some of the worst stories ever seen in Triple-AAA gaming history. The Crysis series is the best case in point; literally circa 2003 gameplay and stories, linear as all hell, horrendous characters/voice-acting with 80% of development efforts going into the engines.

At least Ubisoft has made some of the best-selling landmark games/franchises of all time, in addition to becoming a stagnant Triple-AAA mega-publisher who now rehashes the same old tired sh*t to milk those cash cow franchises for all their worth.

Agreed - I was lukewarm on the idea of it until I actually played it and I had a blast. Didn't outstay its welcome, looked great and had a decent enough story.

    Good game, good price.

It's all about the nipple tassels.

Too bad they aren't making a sequel..

  • Short story that has a few different ways to play the game. I love the few battles where you line up with your troops.

The game was essentially a tech demo to showcase the Xbox One and is certainly worth a few dollars to try!

    • Yes, the graphics are a treat!

  • +1

Defs worth a go at this price. Game still looks great, has a fun story and even though it gets a bit repetitive it’s short enough that it won’t outstay it’s welcome.

  • How does this play on keyboard + mouse? I found the controls on the XB1 to be a bit confusing.

  • It’s a good game. Carthago delenda est

  • This is also available on game pass for those who are subscribed

Loved this game got it day one on the xbox one back in the day

  • +3

    This game is dope

  • +1

Got this in a previous post, definitely a good game with impressive graphics. The gameplay loop is fun, if a little repetitive. I never ended up completing, but enjoyed what I did play.

  • It is a very intense game, well worth a few dollars.

  • Great little game, also note this is Free on Game Pass for those on that bandwagon

  • it says A$ 14.50
