By SMS I'm assuming you're meaning mymaccas app notification?
Haven't had an issue with the app lately (surprisingly) but why not just use the code at the counter or self serve kiosk? You can't actually submit the order to the restaurant until you're basically there anyway.the app has great potential …
1. checking coupons
2. custom orders are easier on the app rather than the talking to a person on the crappy quality drive-thru conversations
Same. Not a fix but workaround that works for me is:
- Place order and get to white screen (should be the screen just before setting pickup option vs eat in etc.
- Close the app
- Re-open the app (or you may get a maccas notification saying open order and just click that) and it should now load at the pickup/eat in option screen and work normally after this
Enjoy :)
thanks dude .. will give it a try next time .. been working on this issue for a few years and complaining the drive-thru obviously hasn't made it's way to the app development team.
interestingly .. on opening the app yesterday, I got the notification with the order reference number from about 2 weeks prior! Lol
btw .. it is the 'white screen of death' not just the 'white screen' ;P
I had the problem with samsung S21U and flip3 .. and my N20U also.
Just order at the drivethru and give them the code
@J5: As above .. if i use the McD app, then
I don't need to use ozbargain and post-it notes in the car to track and trace the validity of every coupon
custom orders are easier on the app than the crappy call quality on the drive-thru discussion
order price can be checked on the app before racking up a huge bill
@J5: I just received a notification from the McD app a few seconds for a new deal for a $6 quarter pounder and cheeseburger.
How do you manually track the deals? Must be hard work? Do you carry a laptop around with a spreadsheet of the McD deals and expiry dates?
@matt-ozb: The app tells you what is available today and how long its got to go
What would you need a speadsheet for ?
Unless somehow you want to keep track of whats coming up in the future ?
I cbf
Maccas has had hardly any deals of late
i upgraded to android 11, my problems are gone but it’s an expensive way to get a cheap burger …. with apple it’s easy for them to test the app, only a couple of versions ….with android people could be running lots of different versions and on a different hardware and the developers do t have access to every version on every platform e.g pixel 5 with android 11 and samsung on android 9 ….
is this the same as a royale with cheese?
Yep basically.
I presume you are referring to the Quarter pounder.
the Royale with Cheese was a pulp fiction reference to a Big Mac in France I think ???
No a big mac is a big mac
QPs are better than BigMacs!
Next Maccas run gonna be double quarter, remove ketchup and mustard, add lettuce and Big Mac sauce. 🍔
Couldn't you just do big mac, replace 10:1 patties with 4:1 patties?
GPs use fresh meat, BigMacs use frozen patties.
All meat at maccaz is frozen.
The Guarter Pounders are not.
Geez they are real creative with the deals. It's the same shit every single time. Can't they ever do something different, maybe throw in a dessert or a shake
good point .. it's not like their marketing budget would be limited .. maybe the old school people in the marketing department need a redundancy to bring in some fresh talent.
i like it when it’s a small quarter pounder or a small big mac meal …. the mc chicken was salty, think and dry , doubt i would buy one again ….same with nugget meals , salty …. but the high beef prices must be nuisance for the offers when chicken is cheap ……
For their defence, they are a real estate organisation. Why would you expect more.
But that's just a theory, a food theory!
The trick is to get people addicted to quarter pounder meals, then they will pay full price when the deals stop.
I usually get the follow symptoms with app.
Code is not in their system, they ask me to refresh the code it does not change. Either they put in a manual order via adding some placeholder items or they tell me they can't do anything.
Clicking on an offer gives the code for another offer. Apparently this is on their system.
Clicking an offer gives an offer not found error.
Claiming a code Successfully does not remove the item from my list. So I can claim the offer again at a later date. I have this error throughout multiple versions of the app.
Not a bargain still a rip off
Whats ur goto best value burger deal?
About all maccas is worth, but I might get a couple after work this week. Cheers OP, hate their app so I wouldn't have known otherwise
mmm fat day… picking up 24 nuggets at KFC on the way to put on the burgers {sky and turf)
I dont think Ive been to maccas for like 5 years and what is apparently a bargain was a rude shock to me yikes. (not complaining I understand businesses have overheads… but wow)
How much do you think a Quarter Pounder without a small drink and fries should be?
about $5 for a quarter pounder with no drink or chips seems about right …..average burger place is about $8 for an entry level burger without drink or chips …. that’s why i think the $5-6 offers of burger and drink are a great deal ….problem is it’s every once in a while so what to east the rest of the week for lunch …. would be more impressed if the offer ran for a week with a burger per day …… they used to have a lunch club …..cheap burgers from 11am to 2 pm a few years ago, but no more ….. these offers are to keep you in contact with maccas and to get some data on where you live and eat ……
The fact that people pay full price for this crap is what amazes me. For a couple dollars more you can get a proper burger from your local corner store which will be at least twice as filling as the tiny plastic burger from maccas
@harthagan: What is a "proper" burger though?
average burger place is about $8 for an entry level burger without drink or chips
This is for a typical fastfood, ie. big chains like M or HJ, or a general rule for someplace on the continent? Would be relatively cheap if the latter.
Grabbed one last night.
However for the last 2 years, I always have a white screen of death when placing the order with the McD android app .. eventually the SMS with the reference number arrives about 5 to 10 minutes later .. anyone know the fix the white screen of death?
