20% off Qantas Points Sale on All Apple Products + Delivery @ Qantas Rewards Store (DISCOUNT APPLY TO POINTS ONLY)

260

First post in a long time Ozb'ers. (Probably because every other bugger has put up the deal before I get to it) and I can't see this one posted anywhere. Apologies if dupe. . ;)
Anywho, I recently received an email that my QFF points were due to expire due to non use. (Thanks Covus).
So I checked out the QFF store and looks like there's 20% off all Apple products. Might redeem my points to grab an Apple Watch.
For those of you who have excess points and have a hankering of some Apple goodies, check it out.

Cheers!

Probably worth noting that it is 20% off the points price only, dollar price isn’t discounted.

Get Qantas well-being on your phone and get weekly points for walking around, you will never lose your points again

    • Don't points last a few years regardless?

      • +1

They get wiped after 18 months of inactivity.

      • 18 months of non activity will have your points expire

        • Do they all expire at once even if you received some a month or a week ago? And where do you check when they expire?

          • +2

@NoiceMemes: As long as you earn points within 18 months, they won't expire. It's not a rolling expiry like some reward programs.

Or link your Quants to Woolworths rewards so that points transfer to Quants.

    • I do this too. By far the easiest way to keep your points alive. Even if you only earn half a point a day!

i thought qantas points dont expiry?

    • they do if 0 points earned over 18months (transfer don't count)

  • Further 10% off with Points Club Plus
I prefer to call my excess points ”excessive points” (they smell of rich mahogany)

    • how do we get points club plus

      • Earn 350K QFF points in previous FY

    • Not seeing the extra 10% as pcp

      • Discount appears once added to cart.

        • Hmmm is it still working for you? Mine is only showing the 20% discount after adding to cart but nothing from PCP.

          • @Wootwootwoot: Oh, not any more - seems the double dipping has been removed now, sorry.

  • I’m not really too sure what qantas points are equivalent too.. is this good value? My points are about to expire too.

You only need to earn a single point to delay your points expiring by another 18 months. The Qantas Wellbeing app as mentioned above is a good way to grab some free points quickly. As for the value of this deal, you can get vastly better value per point on flight and upgrade redemptions but that's not always so easy to do, particularly in these times.

      • I saw a guy selling qantas points at 1.1c per point. Do you have any idea what sort of average value per point you can get when using points, in the best case scenarios?

        • +1

Buying points on the classifieds can get your account banned but the reason some are willing to take that risk is because you can get 6x the value of what you pay for the points on certain business and first redemptions and upgrades. Economy isn't nearly as good but it's still much better value than the Rewards Store. I would check out these guides by Executive Traveller and Finder. It's hard to give an average value since, as you can see, it varies greatly depending on what you redeem the points for, but Point Hacks arrived at a figure of 1.9c/point for Qantas.

I am still in shock when I hear some people are losing their points…

  • Title would be good to read % off points transaction only. The cash price doesn't appear discounted

    • Cheers. I've updated the title.

I snagged a Apple Watch with a cash difference payment as I was contemplating one anyway. Might be handy for others who are keen on new Apple gear.

  • Wow that is still very expensive compared to redeeming your points to flights..

    • whats the conversion?

  • i worked out to be the same as paying the full price for apple watch if you convert all your points to pay off the watch. But if you use your qantas points for flights then its a bargain

  • The best way is to assess the gift card value against the points. Last time I checked, it was $60 worth of value against 10000 points.
