Based on the product title, I'm assuming not AU Stock?

    Model Number on AZAU: SM-R190NZSAEUE
Model Number from Australian Retailers (OW, TGG, Bing Lee): SM-R190NZSAASA

im curious does it actually mean its lower quality or its just an unimportant thing?

Should be the same product, just a warranty thing.

Based on previous PC Byte deals it would be grey stock. Obviously physically located in Australia, but a model from another country - possibly Europe based on Google results?

  • It means you wont be able to get a price match/beat from another retailer

From the thumbnail, I thought they were wireless breast pumps…

  • Meanwhile the AKG N400NC is $48 USD delivered on clearance for US folks. Better tuned original Galaxy Buds with ANC added, though no Samsung adaptive codec (AAC & SBC only).

Will be interesting to see if the Buds Pro and Buds2 get a Bluetooth LE Audio update.

    • I've tried the akg n400, galaxy buds pro and sony wf1000xm3b…. and I like the sony's the most. The bass and sound just feels fuller/richer whilst the akg and samsung sounds more thin/tinny? Of course they all sound amazing compared to other tws.

However, I wonder what's wrong with my ears? I've looked at audiophile reviews and the akg's are meant to have the best sound quality (namely crinacle).

You're probably just looking for a slightly warmer sound, which I believe is the soft preset for the Samsung offerings (and likely this as well), and is generally the preferred preset for audiophiles. For the AKG, I think you need to use the app to dial that in with an EQ, but that then gets saved to the device.

The current Harman curve tends to have a bit too much happening in the upper mids and lower treble. Even AKG's current mid-fi closed back, the AKG K371, dials this down.

Here's oratory's curve for the AKG using his target (which is very similar to Crinacle's), and you can see that there's some slight dialling up to do between 60Hz-200Hz ranging from 1-2 dB, and then down a bit from 1kHz-4kHz with roughly the same range.

You might want to ease off the 6kHz & 9kHz-10kHz peaks, but that's about it really.

      • You're a bass head and loves v-shape sound.
        Nothing wrong with that.

Sony has big bass quantity but lack of quality. In good iems/headphones you can hear the subtle texture - instead just boom boom boom.
AKG N400 can provide you with this.

Also, the sound shouldn't be muddy (eg bass is too overwhelming that it ruins the vocal/mids).
AKG N400 also is more superior in term of resolution where you can hear nuance in music.

  • I've had these and the pixel ones. Personally I prefer the pixels. I find them a bit more comfortable and you can disable the in ear detection.

  • Oysters for the Ears.
