      Sorry, added.

  • Does your "unique" code end in 1432?

    • Lol. Yeah :)

      • +7

Figures. Not unique code then, it's 92466481432 for $100 off. Have at it.

  • Any review for it?

    • +1

Handful available at JB product link itself. Looks to be decent for it’s price.

      • +6

This or one of the viofo's?

    • The camera quality is not that bad, everything else feels like a cheap Chinese dashcam, the speed camera database can only be updated manually.
The recorded videos can be played in the pc but if you dont use their navman app you wont hear anything, tried windows media and other stuff and it didnt play any audio.

  • how does it compare with this model also on sale at SCA ?

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/navman-navman-focus450-1…

    • +1

MiVue is latest compared to Focus and is at much lesser price compared to the above.

  • +2

Got a $400 Navman GPS with camera gifted.
    Verdict: Junk

  • +4

How is this compared with Viofo A129?

  • powered by battery or resistor, if it's battery => Junk for qld

  • Wow nice bezels… it's almost like a flashback from the 90's.
Are chunky bezels back; do you have to drive a 90's Lancer?
Did Navman outsource production to Ugandan gorillas?
Like wtf, it's got more bezel than screen… sweet Jesus have mercy.
You couldn't pay me enough to have that in my car… probably make a nice pinball in an accident… I mean it's got to bounce with that much bezel.

    • +11

I'm sensing you don't like the design of this. I'm perceptive that way!

      • Eeeehhhhhh I'm unsure as to whether he/she likes the bezels as they don't seem to mention them

    • +2

Damn they are huge, so off putting. Reminds me of Michael Scott’s tiny flat screen tv.

      • Michael!

  • +31

This increases your chances of getting in an accident.

The only videos of accidents I see online are by people with dashcams.

    • +10

Just like ambulances and police cause road accidents, because they are always there when one happens!

    • Reverse logic nice 👍 ¡smart

  • is it hard to install this one? Or use cigeratte charger is fine?

    • Easy with Smartbox kit. Just buy a fuse jumper to hook it up for always on recording. It will power off dash cam at battery low voltage cut off.

  • Thanks OP, got one!

  • +2

    Thanks OP.

Got 2… one for me and one for the wife. I nothing like a dashcam for a Valentines Day present for the wife!

    • +7

hey hey, slow down Casanova. You're going to ruin it for the rest of us.

      • Sorry. Though been after new front and rear dash cams for a while… so couldn't pass up on them.

    • +2

When she said she wanted Junk for VDay, she didn't mean this..

  • How do you install this?

  • When will these brands be forced by EU to use usb-c? I'm waiting for the day EU fines them and they have to design a product with usb-c before I buy

    • I gotta agree with you there, anything being manufactured these days should come with USB-c as standard EU requirement or not.

  • Notice this is a dual dash cam
How to power the rear cam? do you need to run a long cable from the front to the rear?

    • +1

Long cable from front to rear yes

  • Got one and already installed and also updated the safety camera database to latest. Was simple to get it all up and running. Seems like a solid device for the price with some nice features. Cheers.

  • Anyone installed this on a motorcycle?

  • +4

So it records speed to, any way to turn it off?
Dont want insurance company to deny claim if the speed is a bit high :)

    • You can crop the video before you give it over to insurance :)

  • Read a feedback about the screen can't be turned off.
Only want it to record so anyone confirm if the screen can be turned off or it is always on?
    Thanks

    • I have a mivue 720 and it can been turned off or you can select it to switch over to a HUD so I would assume this model would too

  • +2

I got this for 55$ just now including shipping

    • How?

    • I am the first one to buy and report this crazy price😅

  • +2

price has just dropped today to $149 and code still work
most store in Sydney has no stock but its only $5 posted

  • +1

It is out of stock now. I bought two, hopefully they do not cancel order. Thanks

  • 🤦 i bought it at $149 because I thought the coupon was already applied.

    • Funny how they honoured your order.. 😅

They're cancelling everyones order who purchased at the $149 ticket using the $100 coupon.. stating the $149 price was incorrect.

You however didn't use the coupon and are paying technically, untechnically full price at the "unallowed" $149 but they're allowing your order to go through because they can still profit off YOU..

That's some seriously shady business.. 🤣

If I were you, I'd try and return it, but not before emailing JB-HIFI customer service and asking for your own coupon on the newer model stating you purchased it aswell at the incorrect $149 price.

  • For those that bought it at $149 and haven’t opened it, you can try to take it back in store and ask them to process a refund and buy it again before the code expires on Sunday. I was able to do that as I purchased on Tuesday and went back today.

  • +1

Can confirm mine are both shipped, bought for $56 each with delivery. Amazingly cheap.

  • Got 1 for $49 pick up at hoppers crossing, and told my brother to get on too for 56 with delivery.

  • Got 1 today for $49 as well.
Got JB to stock transfer. Hopefully will come soon.

    • How did you do that? I thought it was not available in website. My friend wants to buy but cannot find it. Thanks

      • +1

Instore can see other store stock levels. I bought last one at my local, then tried another store as decided to get one for my partner, they didn't have one, but they could see another store nearby had one, so he checked over the phone and had it put aside and i bought it then, so just had to go and pick it up from the other store, which i just did this arvo.. $49 thanks for coming x2 $98.

These are lithium battery for shut-down, not capacitor.. ahwell

        • which store ?

          • @anxiousdevices: Canberra, but last ones they had. Fyshwick said they had 1 on order that was about 2 weeks away.

        • That's correct. I bought it in store and awaiting for them to call for collection. I hope they do no cancel considering people are getting cancellation emails

  • Just got this email - wtf - has anyone else gotten their orders cancelled ?

We regret to inform you that we have recently identified an advertising error that has affected your order.
Unfortunately for a short period of time the Navman Mivue830 DC was incorrectly advertised as at ticket price $149. As a result of this, we have cancelled the orders.

We understand just how frustrating this must be. As an apology, we can offer you the current model Navman Speedocam Dash Cam Mivue830 (which is currently retailed at $349) for the same purchase price of $149.
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/navman-mivue-speedocam-da…

    • Yup got the same email.

      • any lucky ones that got their online orders shipped ?

    • I got the same email.

    • That is a good deal, much better unit too…

      • +1

not sure - this has battery too i think. Dont see capacitor mentioned anywhere on their specs (usually that is something every manufacturer brags about).
Probably will wait for the next deal on the viofo ones ..

        • i was under impression that all navman's dashcam are caps

          • @dcep: i tried checking the specs, couldnt find it mentioned anywhere - are you able to see anywhere that it has a capacitor ?

    • how to get the offer ? is it special link ? or email order via customer service

  • +1

Anyone else look into the other dashcam they offered to those cancelled orders? I can't seem to find much info.

The original MiVue 830DC was just an impulse buy for me, but I'm not sure I want to spend $100 on another unit which seems to be about the same..

    • +2

It has a number of better features. 60fps for front cam, not 30, wifi, a proper screen, 3" ips, HDR support, this 830 DC you must be directly in front to view. Must still be battery though, as no mention of capacitor.

      • +1

        Cool cool, thanks mane.

Yeah, I forgot about those increases. Also didn't realise the previous model had such an unviewable screen.

Coupon expires on the 12th of March so may actually keep a look out for other sales in between since I've sorta now been sold to spend atleast $150 on a proper dashcam instead of GoPro's.. 😅

    • +1

same for me - for $56 - it was a no brainer, but while looking at $150 - $200 range, I would probably wait to get the viofo duo for 2 reasons - better resolution and has a capacitor.

      • +1

I have no idea with dash cams though but $56 seemed like a decent toe-dip into it..

I'm guessing the overall experience of these sort of dash cams are more streamlined than compared to like a 70mai?

Apart from that model, I don't see anything else that may pop up below the $150 (RRP350?) model that could really hold up, I'm assuming. Any advice would be great!

        • I am thinking to get 70mai dual dash cam. It is around 140 from eBay. However, I am not sure how it compares with Navman. Any advice please? Thanks

          • @zozuc: Yo, sorry for the late reply, I have no idea, I just knew the 70mai would be in the price range of 2x compared to the $150 they want for this other model.

Have you managed to find other decent deals?

            • @[Deactivated]: Hi, I managed to get 70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus+ A500S, Front and Rear, 1944P Ultra Full HD, 1080P in eBay. I got it for 115 AUD. I am not sure how it works since I didn't install yet!

              • +1

@zozuc: Ohhh, I was looking at that one last night!

Seemed better than grabbing 2 of those skinnier tube looking ones, and ends up being cheaper.

I'll end up looking at reviews of it today I think. :D

              • +1

@zozuc: Hey mate, just before our code expires, I came across another crazy deal here on OzB from JB again.

Deal says it's originally $349, down to $199. BUT if you use the supplied code, it goes down again another $150 to ONLY $49!

Good luck, hope you get this message in time! Seem like another decent $50 dip into dashcams.. :D

                • @[Deactivated]: I bought already but did not collect yet. Will ask to cancel and use code! Thanks

                  • @zozuc: I hope you get in, in-time.

I bought a second after letting you know here last night, remembering they cancelled our last order.

Only 1's already been provided shipping information, surprising, but I'm sort of half expecting the other one to get cancelled.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Just talked with them, they will not refund difference! If cancel, coupon will be invalid! Hope you can get it! Thanks

                      • +1

@zozuc: I'd cancel it and just get the one I linked (Speedocam). It says expired but it's still available.

I think it's only labelled expired on OzB because I tried to report it for having a reduced price. He instead expired the link and said I can create a whole new post if I wanted to amend the price. I wasn't even OP, seems like a lot of work to copy the original post just because the code became stackable and reduced another $150. I was just trying to let others know the bargain had turned into a super-bargain and let others know the price dropped. He wanted me to create a whole new thread..

P.S. Confirmed as of 2 hours ago, both the units I bought have been sent No cancelled orders, WHOOP!

      • Just a heads up. Came across the Navman Focus150 for $119 on special at SuperCheap.

Comes with the (on special saw elsewhere for $49) smartbox thingo.

And MicroSD card which doesn't mean much.

      • Hey mate, did you manage to see anything on a decent bargain?

  • +1

Installed 1 over the weekend. For $49 it's an absolute steal, however for original RRP, no way. Was lucky enough they sent out both orders.

Screen is too bright at night so I have the screen off permanently as there is no auto brightness or even adjustment. Picture quality is very decent though. I can easily read licence plates from the rear camera.

  • Pity the screen is relatively rubbish..

I have a wagon, and the 5m cable is plenty long enough to get to the tailgate. If you have a large, long vehicle, you might end up a little short.

Easy enough to hide the wiring, just keep your hands clean and take your time.

Now that ive used it with both cams going while driving to work, I will check it tonight,

But from the little bit of recording in my driveway yesterday after doing the installation, the rear cam is not as good as the front, so it will be interesting to view the footage tonight.
